Lu Fang got up even before the sound of his alarm. He smiled, realizing what day it was. He declared, "Today is the best Monday of this month!"
Next to him, Andrea was still curling up with Angela on the other side of the bed. They still had the extension crib set-up so they can co-sleep with Angela or either of the twins from time to time. There were rare occasions when all three of their children joined them in the bed.
He joined the cuddling while trying to wake up his wife, "Babe, let's get ready for work. Bolin and Arti are back today. It will be a less tiring day."
Andrea merely hummed. She turned to her husband and received several kisses on her face as a wake-up call. She chuckled soon after the man made his way down to the crook of her neck. "Okay, okay -Ah! That tickles! Okay! I'm getting up, but I'm sleeping again in the middle of the day."
Not only was Lu Fang happy, everyone at Lu-Wei Enterprises knew of Bolin's return that the secretaries made a welcome banner for both him and Arti.
While waiting for his assistant to arrive, the man kept sending him text messages.
"Where are you, Bolin?"
"Exactly where?
"How long before you arrive?"
Knowing how much he was in need, Bolin and Arti went straight to the CEO office floor upon their arrival. He saw the banner hung up on the wall and apparently, food was also prepared for their return.
The secretaries and came up to Boling explaining their warm welcome.
"Bolin, you have no idea who much the boss had been in a bad mood since you were away."
Yenay, Bolin's direct report told, "Bolin, the boss did not like how I scheduled his appointments. Thank goodness you already here!"
"You know what? Last Friday because our president was also busy concerning the health of Mrs. Lu, we ended up waiting for him to approve our documents until ten in the evening."
Arti literally saw her husband being surrounded by all the assistants and even some executives from other floors came to greet Bolin. She shook her head, saying, "Guys! Guys! Arti here, did anybody miss me?"
The crowd burst into laughter, hearing Arti's request for attention.
"Technically, you are not an employee of Lu-Wei Enterprises, so nobody misses you… Maybe sir Hanxi did," said secretary Su while looking at Bolin. "We only miss, Bolin."
Arti's eyes narrowed at secretary Su. She immediately stood behind her husband and said, "Thank you, everyone, for welcoming me and especially my husband, Bolin - Yes, that's right! As some of you know, we went to India to have our civil wedding."
"Wow, Arti congratulations!" It was Yenay who first greeted her and Bolin and the others followed.
Bolin saw the hurt in Arti's expression that he stepped in, "Hey, you know very well how much Arti has helped me with my work. With the company's growing acquisitions in the past three years, I would not have made it through without my wife."
"Awww," they almost said in unison while Arti blushed at the word wife .
"Regardless, we are happy both of you are back!"
They all hugged Arti and Bolin before going back to their seats. Knowing that it was time to check with their bosses, the newlywed couple brought inside the CEO office their gifts from India.
The moment they entered, Andrea was all smiles and gave them a warm embrace. After letting go, the man came up behind her. He walked over with the most serious look on his face. He said, "Bolin. come here!"
Andrea glared at him, not knowing what he was up to, calling Bolin with such a commanding tone.
Without warning, he hugged Bolin tightly for two seconds. He let go immediately realizing how he was being too close for comfort.
His actions made Andrea chuckle while Arti was taken aback. She was then reminded of how much Lu Fang valued her husband.
Lu Fang said, "Bolin, the office is never the same without you and because of this, I have changed your designation to Chief Executive Assistant! Aside from Yenay, you will have two new assistants working under you."
"Ah, that's great master," Bolin acknowledged. Regardless of his designation, it was already his job from the start, but he recognized, having two additional assistants would help.
Both Andrea and Lu Fang concluded they could test the two, Ho Ghozi and Chi Lanying. To Andrea's point of view, she had come across many individuals with impressive work background but some of them just don't have the heart for the job. It was best to see them in action before choosing who to keep in Lu Fang's side. Thus, Ho Ghozi and Chi Lanying were to start the next day.
"And! I did promise you a raise if Andy got pregnant! You have a new contract with your new salary with a guaranteed annual salary increase of at least 10% per year! Plus! You have a signing bonus of sixty thousand dollars!"
The shock on Arti and Bolin's faces could not be described. Andrea too was caught by surprise that she coughed the moment she heard his announcement. 'Signing Bonus?'
"It will be helpful for your upcoming wedding," added Lu Fang.
Arti nearly cried for joy and Bolin could not thank Lu Fang enough that he rushed to hug the man. "Master, thank you. Thank you so much! I love thy master!"
The man's eyes grew wide to his assistant's emotional response. Eventually, he gave a sneer and said, "Enough now, Bolin. if you are so happy, sign the contract with HR immediately and come back to me if you have any objections."
Bolin happily left for the HR department to sign his new contract, but instead of immediately committing, he brought the document with him, hoping to discuss it with his wife.
When he arrived on his desk, he called Arti to over.
"Pickle, should I sign the contract?" Asked Bolin.
"Why? What's wrong with it?" Arti asked, curious about his reluctance.
Bolin showed her the contract which clearly said that he was bound to work for Lu Fang, regardless of designation or position for a full period of ten years.
"Oh, so that's what the signing bonus is for… Mr. Lu sure knows how to keep you," Arti said before looking at her husband. "Unless - Tiger, are you planning on leaving Mr. Lu soon?"
He thought about it for seconds. Although he was overworked, he loved his benefits and salary package. On top of that, his master treated him well. Yes, he had outrageous requests, but ultimately he generously for all his trouble.
Bolin took a deep breath before answering, " No, I don't think I mind being stuck with my boss for the next ten years."
"Well, think about it, tiger. I like my boss too. If we both keep having a good relationship with our bosses, there is no need to part ways from them. And! Let's look at it this way, Mr. Lu is stuck to giving you an annual increase for the next ten years!"
Arti giggled after her words. Bolin shook his head with a smile and signed his contract. "Here is to another ten years."
