While Gao Rou was trying to accept the fate of his father, Lu Fang barely enjoyed their gathering back in Guangzhou.
Following Yeong's arrival, they went to a watermark which Xia Ting had exclusively booked from them to use. The children naturally enjoyed their swimming and almost refused to end their day. The twins especially were very difficult to remove from the water.
Lu Fang was occupied, calling Beijing and Shanxi, planning for when Gao Chaoxiang would be released from the hospital. Thus, it was Yeong who managed the twins.
"Why am I looking after the children?" Complained Yeong.
Andrea kept telling him, "Yeong, it's practice. You are doing a good job. You did say you wanted to catch up with me."
Although the caregivers were with them, they occasionally needed to be relieved, with the twins being so active.
At the end of the day, Anton Yeong announced, "I will only have two children and should be four or five years apart! I will not have twins! This is worse than running around from crossfire!"
It made the ladies laughed hysterically at him, even Xia Ting who arrived late at the gathering, understood well his declaration.
In the evening, the couple was getting ready to sleep for the night, when Andrea saw through her husband's worry. She knew Gao Rou had not picked up his calls since this afternoon, right after Lu Wei had told him the truth.
"Babe?" She called for him, "He has not picked up yet?"
He shook his head while giving his answer, "No."
He realized he had been staring blankly at his phone. He turned back his gaze to his wife and added, "but, Deana caught up with him. So - so they are together now."
"I'm relieved," said Andrea while placing her hand on her chest. At least Deana would be around to comfort Gao Rou.
"Do you want me to call Deana?" Andrea asked.
He put an arm around his wife and said, "I already did, babe. Don't worry. Deana said, he just needs some time… She said, he is - he is even barely talking to her."
"Poor, Rou," said Andrea, "I feel more sorry for his father."
Andrea hugged her husband from the side and said, "We have to help them, his father especially. For him to get back on his feet."
"Do you think it would help if we go home first thing tomorrow?" Andrea asked.
"I - I am not sure," Lu said weakly. He was sincerely worried about his brother. "but... we could try."
"I'll go talk to Yeong and Li Wen. In any case, at least we had spent a day with them. We can have another reunion some other time," said Andrea before getting up from the bed.
She then went to Li Wen and Yeong's room, letting them know of their plans to leave in the morning. Even if they rarely saw each other, Li Wen and Yeong gave their consents, knowing it was a family matter that needs attending.
Yeong assured Andrea that they would extend their stay and go to Beijing the day after tomorrow. That way, they can still make time for each other.
As for Li Wen, they were just two hours away; it was more meaningful that Andrea spent time with Yeong, especially knowing that Yanmei will not be able to travel anytime soon.
Gao Rou's father would be discharged from the hospital on the same day. So Lu Fang planned for them to make a stop at Shanxi before going to Beijing.
In every step he took to bring Gao Chaoxiang to his brother, he texted him and Deana. Gao Rou may not answer for now, but at least he would know.
It had been four days since Gao Rou's father was discovered by Lu Fang and his men. Despite the generosity given to him, he could not help but be worried for his safety. It was still unclear to him why Lu Fang was helping him.
When he heard that he would be brought to Beijing, he was nervous beyond compare, but he reckoned it was nothing. It was nothing compared to the torture and trauma he received from the asylum. Besides, he still needed to know who was that boy. The boy, Lu Fang, presented on his phone. The boy that began to flash through his mind.
When he was carried out to a private loading area at the airport, he was surprised to see a private jet and they seemed to be walking towards it. He leaned closer to one of the men, asking, "Lu-Wei Enterprises has airplanes?"
"It's a private plane, Mr. - Sir, rather," said one of Lu Fang's men. He was now confused about how to address him, knowing he was apparently the father of their third boss. "Only the family uses it for personal or business trips."
"I see." Gao Chaoxiang was amazed. It would be his first experience riding an airplane or as far as he could remember. When he got up to the craft, he was met by an angel.
"Hello, I'm Andy. I am Lu Fang's wife," said Andrea, extending her hand to him.
"Hello, young lady. I am Kang Liang. It's nice to meet you."
She smiled at him and explained, "My husband is on the phone but will be with you when he is done."
Andrea introduced him to the children, but because she was not sure what name to give to the twins, she merely said, "Kids, this is another grandfather. Say hello!"
"Grandpa?" Asked Brie.
"So many grandpas!" Said Chevre. "Chocolates, please."
Andrea saw that Gao Rou's father was happy, but soon his expression turned to sadness. He said, "I'm sorry, children. I don't have money - "
"Oh, grandpa did bring chocolates for you!" She winked at him before going back to her bag, getting some chocolate truffles Yeong brought from Korea.
In secret, she handed it to him, saying, "Here you go. Just say it's from you."
He smiled pleasantly at Andrea before turning to the twins. When he flashed the chocolates at them, their eyes twinkled in excitement.
"Yey! Chocolates!"
"Thank you, grandpa!"
Gao Chaoxiang had never felt his heart warmed in such a manner. After freely being introduced to the children, it would seem to him that Andrea was being too overly welcoming. He thought, if Lu Fang intended to harm him, he would not bring him to the same plane with his family on board.
Just before he got seated, Lu Fang was already finished speaking with his father. The man greeted him and asked if he needed anything.
"I'm fine Mr. Lu. Thank you very much for your hospitality," Gao Chaoxiang said.
Lu Fang took the seat next to him as the pilot was giving instructions to buckle up. When they were already up in the air, he turned to Gao Chaoxiang, who was sitting silently, constantly avoiding his gaze.
The man said, "Mr. Kang, can I tell you a story?"
"What about Mr. Lu?" Gao Chaoxiang asked.
"I want to tell you a story about my brother."
