Chapter 73 - Did you stalk her?

Since the rain had stopped, they decided to walk home. Now that the rain had stopped, the night felt comfortable enough for them to walk.

As they walked, Little Han Ye suddenly looked up at his mother. "Mum?"

"Yeah?" Feng Ruoyun answered in a gentle tone.

He then did something that he had not done for a very long time; he held her hand in public.

When she looked at him with a surprised expression, he said softly, "Don't ever leave me, alright?"

Feng Ruoyun smiled. "Not until you can take care of yourself…"

Even though her son was very mature for his age, she knew that he was scared. After seeing what had happened to his friend, no doubt he was afraid that he would lose his mother as well.

To take his mind off the bad things, she asked, "Miss Wushuang loves candy, right?"

"Yeah…"

She gave his hand a squeeze and smiled as she said, "Let's stop by the convenience store near our house later. We will get some for her..."

...

Han Ye sighed as he closed his eyes. That memory caused him to think about his late mother.

He then shook the memory out before he checked his schedule. There was nothing going on for that date, so he put it down in his online calendar, which was in sync with DX's calendar. It was his way of informing his boss that he would be unavailable for that period of time.

Once he finished the rest of his work, it was almost 12 am. Feeling a little thirsty, he went to the kitchen to get something to drink.

He then heard the front door being opened and the sound of shoes being taken off could be heard.

"Ssh, softer…" Lu ZiYan whispered to Tian Le when Tian Le stepped too hard on the ground with his artificial leg.

"I'm already moving as quietly as I could!" Tian Le turned back to look at Lu Ziyan and complained. "What about your wheelchair? It's going to be louder than my steps!"

"Well, well, well… Looks like my two Cinderellas have arrived home just in time…" Han Ye said as he stood in front of them with his arms folded.

Tian Le and Lu Ziyan gasped softly before the former asked, "Why are you out here instead of in your room?"

"Have you forgotten about how to do it?" Lu Ziyan asked worriedly.

"Wait, did you not last?" Tian Le asked again. This time, his eyes landed on Han Ye's crotch before he looked back up at Han Ye's annoyed face again.

Han Ye was about to say something when Lu Ziyan asked, "Did you scare her off?"

Han Ye rolled his eyes and said, "Tian Le, you're too young for this. But for your information, we didn't do anything and this is something you should learn. She got locked out of the house, so I offered your room to her. You're staying with me tonight."

He then looked at Ziyan and said, "Don't teach this brat the wrong thing…"

"Don't look at me," Lu Ziyan said with his hands up.

Tian Le sighed. "There's Internet at school too, you know…"

He then glanced at Han Ye and with a hand inside his pocket, he smirked, "You brought her home but nothing happened? Really?"

"Just because a woman I just met decided to come home with me doesn't mean that something will happen, and you better remember that. If you grow up warped, your Mama Zhen is going to kill me."

"Yes, boss!" Tian Le saluted him before he walked past him.

When Tian Le walked past him, Han Ye frowned and asked, "Did you grow taller again?"

With a thumbs-up, Tian Le said smugly, "Yep. Another cm since last time. I'm going to be taller than you very soon… "

He then entered Han Ye's room while being glared at by the latter.

As Lu Ziyan wheeled himself in, he said, "Don't bother. Kids these days get better nutrition. If you're bothered by it, then be like me. Everyone would be taller than you."

"No thanks…" Han Ye murmured.

He helped Lu Ziyan to keep the food that he bought for breakfast tomorrow. He also helped himself to the cheeseburger that Lu Ziyan bought for him. While eating, the two chatted.

"So, after dinner, I felt bored, and I decided to track Tian Le down."

Han Ye raised an eyebrow and asked suspiciously, "Do you track people down when you're bored? Is that a normal behavior?"

Lu Ziyan smiled unapologetically. "Hey, since I'm so good at what I do, and now that I don't have to constantly monitor Kai Xin's surroundings, I'm actually very free. And if I don't do something now and then, my IQ points will drop."

"Excuses… If I didn't know better, I would have thought of you as a pervert. Wait... Did you..." Han Ye glanced at Tian Le's bedroom door before he turned back to Lu Ziyan. With a hushed tone, he asked, "Did you stalk her?"

Lu Ziyan laughed softly and waved his hand around. "Don't worry. I didn't do a background search on your potential girlfriend. I figure you'd like to get to know her yourself."

Han Ye sighed in relief. Lu Ziyan was right. Han Ye would prefer to do the get-to-know-a-person part himself rather than having her information handed to him on a silver platter.

Lu Ziyan then continued, "Anyway, I tracked Tian Le down to a fast-food restaurant near his school. I was going to wait for him outside to give him a surprise, but to MY surprise, he came out holding a girl's hand as if he had done it a million times!"

His last sentence came out a little excitedly. Tian Le was so shocked when he saw him that he instinctively flung his girlfriend's hand away, hurting her pride a little. Once he got over it, he apologized to her.

The driver who was taking Lu Ziyan around then sent her back home, while the two guys went to the street stalls nearby to eat.

"You mean our little brother is a little Casanova?" Han Ye asked with a proud tone.

Lu Ziyan smirked. "He said that girl is his first girlfriend, but damn, if that's his first girlfriend, then our little brother is a real confident guy. When I was his age, I could barely talk to the girls I like, much less one as pretty as her."

As a fellow nerd, Han Ye nodded. "But then, I didn't have that problem. Yuexue and I started dating not long after Wushuang disappeared."
