Chapter 111 - Do you think this is a Korean drama?

Han Ye shook his head. With a suspicious glance, he then said, "You called me 'Coward Ye' just now... and it reminded me of something. I didn't think too much about it at that time because of the situation we were in, but you called me 'Coward Ye' too. At the hotel..."

When she did not say anything, he took a step closer to take a better look at her face. When their faces were inches apart, he said in a low voice while he stared into her eyes, "You... Are you really..."

Uncomfortable, Xiao Lei gulped and took a step to her left. She then quickly turned around and pretended to wash the pork ribs again. She laughed awkwardly and dismissed his curiosity by saying, "W-what are you trying to do? Do you think this is a Korean drama?"

"Wushuang?" Han Ye thought to himself as he stared at her back. He then looked at her simple clothes, her rough hands, and when he thought about how she ate everything instead of picking at everything, he shook that notion out of his mind.

As he drained the water out of the bok choy and sweet potato leaves, he took a quick glance at Xiao Lei, who had moved on from washing the ribs and was seasoning the beef at the moment.

He then shook his head and kept his eyes on the vegetables while he thought, "It can't be her. Wushuang hated onions and beans, but Xiao Lei ate them during breakfast the other day. Chicken feet? No way. Maybe it's just a coincidence?"

He then frowned. It seemed that he had forgotten that he washed the vegetables earlier and absentmindedly put the vegetables under the tap again as he thought, "Do I really have the face of a coward?!"

Meanwhile, Xiao Lei exhaled a sigh of relief when she noticed that he had given up on questioning her. As she put a pot of water to boil, she thought, "Thankfully, despite his intelligence, he's pretty dumb. Is this what they call a savant? I need to be more careful."

"But," she thought while she placed a hand on her chest, "what was that feeling earlier?"

She then slapped her cheeks lightly with the back of her hands before she whispered to herself, "Idiot! You're a married woman!"

Han Ye heard her murmuring, but he did not catch her words. However, he was surprised to see her suddenly slapping herself and he could not help but ask, "Are you alright?"

"Haha," Xiao Lei chuckled awkwardly and said, "Yeah... Just... My cheeks are itchy."

Han Ye then dried his hands on the small towel hanging on the wall before he reached over to scratch her cheeks lightly. "Don't slap yourself next time. Just ask for help if you feel itchy and can't scratch it yourself."

Xiao Lei gulped as she stared at his Adam's apple. She was afraid to meet his eyes. Lightly pushing his hands away from her cheeks, she walked to the fridge and pretended to look for something as she asked, "Are you done with the vegetables?"

"Yeah."

"The soup will take a while. Do you want to rest first?" she asked, still averting her eyes from him.

As for Han Ye, he was feeling uncomfortable as well, so he nodded. "Yeah... If you don't mind, can I take a nap at your guest room?"

"Sure, go ahead. I'll call you when dinner's ready."

Xiao Lei watched as he walked to the room, and a sad expression appeared on her face as she murmured, "I'm sorry, Han Ye..."

....

As Han Ye lay on the bed, he could not sleep despite feeling tired earlier. He was still thinking about earlier and the memories of Little Fan Wushuang calling him "Coward Ye" over and over again ran through his mind.

He lay on his side as he murmured to himself, "Wushuang has a reason to call me a coward because I shouted like a little baby back then. But..."

He turned around and looked out the door that he left ajar. When he saw Xiao Lei walking by while eating a pack of ch.i.p.s, he immediately pretended to sleep. After a while, he heard the door being locked and opened his eyes.

He sighed and murmured to himself, "Xiao Lei didn't have any reason to call me a coward... At most, based on that time at W... A pervert?"

"Not that it's better..." He sighed and lay on his back before he thought, "But earlier, I guess I was being a coward. It's not really an issue that I should spend so much time thinking about."

He closed his eyes as he thought about what he should do with Angela. They had been texting each other every day ever since he sent her back. It was all innocent texts, but it made him feel good. Like talking to...

"Fine! Let's try for a while!" he murmured. Once he was done with the thing about Angela, his mind was again filled with Xiao Lei and Little Fan Wushuang. There was still a nagging feeling in his heart, and it made him uncomfortable.

As he closed his eyes and slowly drifted to sleep, he thought, "I need... to look... at her photo... later."

...

Around an hour later...

"Han Ye! Han Ye"

Trapped in dreamless sleep, Han Ye felt a familiar voice calling out to him. When he opened his eyes, his vision was blurry, but he saw a woman standing beside him as she called out his name.

"Yuexue?" he murmured and grinned before he pulled the woman down. As he pinned her down on the bed, he murmured sleepily while he rested his head on her chest. "I dreamed that I lost you..."

PAP!

"Ouch!" Han Ye yelped when he felt something hit the top of his head. Alert now, he looked up and saw Xiao Lei, who had turned red from both anger and embarrassment. "Xiao Lei? What are you doing in my bed?"

"WHAT THE F*CK ARE YOU DOING!" Xiao Lei snapped as she pushed him away. Standing up from the bed, she snapped, "I came to wake you up for dinner and you-- YOU!"

It took about three seconds before Han Ye realized what he did. "N-No! It's not what you think!"

Xiao Lei picked up a pillow and smacked it against his face, causing Han Ye to fall back and down on the floor.

"F*ck!" he cursed. He had forgotten how strong she could be when she was emotional.

When he picked himself up, he saw that she had picked up the lamp on the nightstand. Almost immediately, he put his hands up in defense as he moved around, trying to avoid getting hit by the lamp that might fly over at any moment.

"I thought you were my wife!" Han Ye yelled as he kept his eyes on the lamp.

"You always have an excuse!" Xiao Lei yelled as she aimed the lamp at him.

"Seriously!"

Xiao Lei ignored him and raised the lamp to prepare to throw at him.

"I'll take you out to another Michelin restaurant! My treat!" Han Ye said as he raised his hands up and crossed it in front of his head to protect it. He then closed his eyes as he anticipated the pain to come soon. After a few seconds and nothing happened, he opened his eyes and saw that Xiao Lei had lowered the lamp.

"Let's eat now," she said gruffly as she tossed the lamp at him.

Han Ye caught the lamp deftly and thought, "I know she likes food... but, that easily?"

Once he placed the lamp back where it was, he joined her at the dining table. She had set up everything and was waiting for him. She looked fine, but the frown on her face told him that she was still a little angry.

"I'm really sorry..." Han Ye said as he took his seat. "I was just confused cause I was barely awake then..."
