....
Xiao Lei sighed and looked at Han Ye, who was snoring away happily after giving her a headache. She then slowly inched her way out of his arms and sat up on the bed.
"They said that people would tell the truth when they are drunk... Now that he's drunk and sleep talking, his words should be even truer, right?" Xiao Lei thought to herself.
She then leaned down a little closer to him and whispered, "Han Ye, do you know who Fan Wushuang is?"
"Little devil kid..." he mumbled as he slipped his hand under the pillow he was using and snuggled closer to the pillow.
"Damn it!" Xiao Lei cursed softly. She then gently slapped Han Ye's face, and the response she received was a loud groan before he turned over to face the other side.
"What a kid..." She chuckled and got nearer as she whispered, "Do you blame Wushuang for tricking you into the pool and nearly caused your death?"
Han Ye groaned and lay back on the bed. Just as Xiao Lei was about to give up on ever receiving an answer, he mumbled softly, "No..."
Xiao Lei faltered, and a devastated expression appeared on her face.
However, a few seconds later, she heard him say, "Never... blame..."
He then turned over to face her, and his eyes opened slightly, as if he were awake. When Xiao Lei looked at him with her eyes wide open, she saw him smile before he closed his eyes again, and within a few seconds, the room was filled with a soft snoring sound.
Xiao Lei continued to sit there and watch over him as he slept. His words earlier -- "Never... blame..." and "I... don't like... what I'm... feeling for you..." -- kept repeating in her mind, as if they were placed on a loop. She felt extremely uncomfortable by what it meant...
"Han Ye, don't be silly. You're just confused," she mumbled softly.
"Mmhmm... " he mumbled in sleep before turning around, and by accident, his hand landed on hers.
As if she were jolted by electricity, Xiao Lei immediately pulled her hand away.
Her face turned red, and her heart rate accelerated and thumped loudly, as if they were no longer hers. She suddenly felt as if the room was getting smaller and smaller, and she had no choice but to stand up and walk out of the room so that she could breath better.
While standing at the door, she continued to look at him while being in a state of confusion. He left earlier, seeming angry at her for raising her hand against Angela Zhang, but now he was heartbroken? Why?
"Bright..." Han Ye complained in his sleep before hiding his head under the pillow.
After a while, Xiao Lei closed the door and went back to her room while praying that Han Ye would wake up clueless and dumb. "I've to think of something to pin it on him..." she muttered to herself as she climbed back onto her own bed.
Unknown to her, after she closed the door, Han Ye peeked from under the pillow before putting his head back on it. He had already sober up slightly about 5 minutes ago, and so, everything that Xiao Lei thought was a drunk man's words was actually his.
As he stared at the door, Han Ye mumbled, "You silly woman... as if I'd blame you for something that small..."
Even though he was only a boy back then, he knew that she was only playing with him, and so, after the shock of being drowned passed, so did his anger. The only reason why it took so long for him to talk to her again was that he was a little embarrassed by his own outburst and did not know how to start talking to her without feeling awkward.
"I don't know how else to deal with my feelings other than this..." he mumbled softly. The talk with Head Manager Han had made him realize just who it was that he truly had feelings for, and he did not know if he should be happy or upset about it.
"She's a married woman, you idiot..." he scolded himself softly as he hit the pillow with the back of his head a couple of times. "How can you let yourself fall for her, accidentally or not..."
Lying on the bed, Han Ye groaned softly as he held onto his pounding head. "I shouldn't have drunk so much..."
As he slowly fell asleep, he thought wryly, "Or maybe I should have drink more... at least I won't have to think about this then..."
....
The next morning, Han Ye woke up to the smell of food, and he walked to the kitchen after putting on the clothes that were placed on the couch in the room.
"Erm... Why am I in your house?" Han Ye asked while scratching the back of his head.
"Ask yourself!" Xiao Lei snapped as she glared at him while holding a spatula in her hand and looking as if she were about to throw it at him.
"I-I don't remember," Han Ye mumbled before sitting down at the dining table where the table was set for two. He kept his eyes averted from hers because he knew that he might not be able to hide his lie.
Han Ye got drunk easily, but he would get sober quickly as well... and sometimes, he would remember the stupid things he had done, which made it worse. Thank God he was tortured enough by President Du that he learned how to feign ignorance.
Besides, Kai Xin had never let him forget about the last time he got drunk on the airplane, where his drunken action of shouting "I love you, President Du" was captured by DX. The recording was then given to Kai Xin as a gift to make her laugh. It would have been fine if Kai Xin kept it to herself, but no... Every now and then, she would show it to Han Ye to tease him about it and she would use it to blackmail him into doing certain things for her, like buying her unhealthy snacks when she was sick or for him to say weird things to DX whenever they were away for a couple of days for work trip.
Suddenly, a memory of him singing at the top of his lungs appeared in his mind, and he groaned softly when he realized that it was a memory from last night. With a deep sigh, he buried his face in his hands before mumbling softly to himself, "Han Ye... No more drinking for you ever again!"
