Chapter 276 - A woman gave it to me

Xiao Lei could not take her eyes off the man in front of her. She was sure... that this Murong Yu was the one that she knew. But how...

"Mum?" Xiao Zhihao frowned slightly when he saw the slightly fearful expression on Xiao Lei's face.

"Zhihao, stay away from him," Xiao Lei said before reaching over to pull her son over. She pushed Xiao Zhihao to behind her before saying to Murong Yu, "What do you want? It's been so many years... Please just let me go."

"What are you talking about, Mrs. Xiao?" he asked with a curious yet innocent expression, yet that smirk of his. That smirk of his told her everything that she needed to know.

"STOP FAKING IT!" Xiao Lei snapped.

"Mum, what are you doing?! That's my teacher!" Xiao Zhihao said. "Why are you being so rude to him?"

"He's dangerous, Zhihao! You stay away from him!"

"What's going on here?"

The voice caused Xiao Zhihao to look back, but Xiao Lei and Murong Yu continued to stare at each other.

"Take Zhihao away," Xiao Lei said to Han Ye without even looking back.

"I'm not going anywhere with him!" Xiao Zhihao put his foot down. "And you can't talk to my teacher like that!"

"Go, Zhihao!"

Han Ye glanced at Murong Yu, and he too noticed the subtle height difference from the Murong Yu he saw before. A tense expression appeared on his face as he spat, "I'm not leaving you anywhere with this man!"

"Now, Mrs. Xiao, are you mistaking something?"

"Me?" Xiao Lei laughed in a scoffing manner. "Yes, I should have known that there's no such coincidence. Same face, same name. How could I let something like height covered my eyes?!"

Murong Yu sighed. "What do you want?"

She did not take his bullsh*t, and she stepped forward before pushing him slightly. "Why won't you leave me alone?! You've taken your revenge, and I'm just a poor woman now! Why are you still targeting me? AND WHY ARE YOU NEAR MY SON?! WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME?!"

Her loud voice attracted the attention of some of the nearby students, and they all looked over. Some of them even took out their phones to record in case something interesting happened. However, Xiao Lei did not stop.

She suddenly then turned to face Han Ye. With a finger pointed at Murong Yu, she snapped, "You told me that he wasn't the same Murong Yu that I knew, but he was! My son could have been in grave danger!"

Han Ye was about to say something, but Murong Yu spoke first, "I don't know what you're talking about, Mrs. Xiao. But maybe you should calm down before you create a bigger scene than you already did."

Without warning and out of everyone's expectation, Xiao Lei pounced toward Murong Yu and tore his light-blue buttoned-up shirt open.

"There!" She poked at a crescent-like scar that was right in front of his left chest. "Don't deny it!"

...

When she was staying among the Lion's Herd gang members behind Xiao Yunjie's back, she saw a peculiar crescent-like scar on Murong Yu's body. The man had plenty of scars all over his body, but this one was the one that caught her attention because it seemed to have been deliberately carved.

"What's that?" she asked while struggling to remove the binds on her wrists.

Murong Yu was sitting on a couch with only his boxer on and an amused expression as he watched her. "What?"

He was trying to tempt her by showing her his perfectly sculpted body, but to his disappointment, she wasn't baited by it.

"That scar that looks like a sickle," she mumbled as she pointed with her chin, hoping that he would understand what she was talking about.

He glanced down and touched the scar. "This?"

"Yeah."

"It's a scar..."

Xiao Lei nearly puked from it, and she had to do her best not to roll her eyes at him in case he tightened the ropes again. "How did you get it? It doesn't match the scars on the rest of your body."

"A kiss and I'd tell you," he teased before walking over to the bed where she was on. He then sat down on the side of the bed and tapped the side of his cheek. "Here."

"Forget about it, I'm not interested," she mumbled before turning away.

"You're no fun," he grumbled.

There was a moment of silence where Xiao Lei thought that he wasn't interested in talking, so she kept focusing on removing the knots with her teeth.

"A woman gave it to me when I was young."

Xiao Lei gave him an odd look for a second before removing her mouth from the rope. "A woman? Why?"

"She's trying to get someone else's attention," he mumbled. He pretended that there was a knife on his hand before drawing it over the scar. "Like that," he said nonchalantly as if someone drew the scar on him instead of carving into him.

Xiao Lei thought for a while before asking, "But why did she inflict it on you?"

"She thought that person would care, but she was wrong." He then laughed wryly. "Women, who knew what was in your gender's mind?" he said teasingly as he glanced at her.

He was laughing, but Xiao Lei could see a sad expression flitted across his eyes that were otherwise cold and emotionless.

"Did it hurt?" she asked after a moment of hesitation, and her eyes landed on his scar again.

He stared at her face, and after a few seconds, he asked in a soft voice, "Are you feeling sorry for me?"

"No," she replied almost instantaneously, which caused his expression to darken. "But I'm feeling sorry for the young you. You must've been scared."

Murong Yu's eyes went slightly wide open before narrowing into crescent shapes while a smile appeared on his face. He then shrugged, "It was a long time ago; I've totally forgotten about it."

He then leaned closer to her, and when their faces were inches apart, he asked in a slightly whispery voice, "Are you jealous? Should I remove the knots so that you can leave a scar on me as well? I'd prefer a temporary one, but I would take whatever you're willing to give me."

"GO AWAY!" she snapped before turning her whole body away from him. "Pervert!" she hissed under her breath, which caused him to laugh out loud again.

....
