Chapter 294 - This is all your fault!

"This is all your fault!"

A small voice suddenly sounded out of nowhere. Dr. Phillip turned around and saw Little Monkey with a grin standing right behind him. And not far from her was a young maid, who left after Dr. Phillip waved a nonchalant hand at her.

Dr. Phillip then picked up Little Monkey and said, "My favorite girl in this house, how are you?"

"Good!" She nodded seriously. She then looked at Callum and giggled. "This is all your fault!" she then said to her uncle.

"Urgh..." Callum groaned. "Come on, Little Monkey. Don't learn anything from your father."

Dr. Phillip looked at Kai Xin, who was laughing at them. "What happened here?"

"XiAn was holding her every time he scolded Callum for the last few days... She thought that Callum's responses to those words were funny, and so, she has been repeating it as well..." Kai Xin explained while gently rocking the baby's crib.

"Everyone is blaming me, but no one understands my pain," Callum mumbled. "I didn't even do anything!"

"What happened exactly? Why did you guys suddenly break up?" Kai Xin asked. Callum did not tell them the exact story. He merely showed her a sad expression as he told her the news and a brief recount.

"I don't know!" Callum snapped. "That man has been moody as f...udge for a long time, and he didn't want to talk to me about anything!"

"It's not like you're the most mature person in the world to talk to!" Dr. Phillip snickered.

"Stay out of this!" Callum glared at him. He then looked back at Kai Xin and said, "He's been acting weird. Especially since we returned from the Shenlong Mansion. He didn't want to tell me anything. I thought that maybe he had somehow talked to my grandfather, but I'd warned him and told him before he went over, to ignore whatever sh...oe that old man might have said to him! He should have known that the old man would try to hurt him, that he would try to break us up!"

He then sat up angrily. With his hands clenched, he said, "If that's indeed what has happened and he chose to believe that old man, then... maybe this is it. He didn't have any faith on me, on us... If that's the case, then... if not now, it would only happen again."

Kai Xin stared at him for a while before signaling Dr. Phillip to turn over. Dr. Phillip did not question her and did as he was signaled, and when he did, Kai Xin slapped Callum right across the back of his head.

PAP!

"Argh!" Callum looked at her with a wronged expression. Meanwhile, Little Monkey looked at him curiously when Dr. Phillip turned around to face them again. She c.o.c.ked her head while wondering what had happened earlier.

Kai Xin frowned and asked, "Is that why you left? Because you think he has no faith in you?"

Callum rubbed the back of his head as "Then what am I supposed to do? I have given him many chances to talk, but he didn't want to. And he thought that I would leave him for another girl! Why do I always have to be the one to let him win?!"

"Because you love him!" Kai Xin rolled her eyes at him. "Because you love him, you let him win. Because you love him, you should have comfort him. You have a feeling that your grandfather had something to do with him, but did you comfort Guangying?"

Looking at his guilty expression, Kai Xin scoffed. "No, right? You probably just said something like 'ignore that old man'."

She then sighed and looked at Dr. Phillip. "Can you please go in first? I need to talk to Callum alone."

"I wanna listen!" Little Monkey protested when Dr. Phillip turned to go into the house.

"Come on, Little Monkey. I'll give you some chocolate."

"Get the chocolates from Old Mo. He knows how much she should eat," Kai Xin said. She then narrowed her eyes at Dr. Phillip as she warned, "Don't you dare give her more than that!"

"I won't..." Dr. Phillip grinned, but Kai Xin did not trust him.

After he left, she quickly texted Old Mo to reduce the number of sweets to give to Little Monkey since she knew that Dr. Phillip would definitely give Little Monkey some extras.

After that, she looked at Callum and said, "You should know by now how much pain Guangying was in growing up. So why can't you be more understanding and know how hard it is for him to have faith in another person other than himself? And! He actually agreed to have a child with you! If that's not a show of his faith in you, then what is?"

"Then how could he just say break up so easily?!"

"Did he say break up, or did you say that?"

"What?"

"Are those the exact words that he used?"

"He said, 'I want to have a break'. If that's not breaking up with me, what's is?"

She shrugged. "Knowing him, that could be a literal, 'I want to have a break', as if he just wants to have some time off. Guangying doesn't like to talk about his problems. He likes to think things through by himself, and you..."

She poked him in the shoulder as she continued, "You have probably made it worse by storming out the way you did."

Upon hearing her, Callum's mouth opened and closed, and opened and closed. He then gulped and wondered if he had done something tremendously wrong.

Kai Xin sighed softly. She knew that it wasn't Callum's fault. Luo Guangying was just someone who was used to doing things by himself and had the tendency to keep everything in his heart. After a short silence, Kai Xin added, "After Lin disappeared, Guangying did not have anyone else in his life. Not family, not friends. He didn't know how to properly deal with people, and given how he was forced to suppress his thoughts and emotions, he probably did not know how to deal with them as well. Then he met you. Someone who is free to speak his mind."

"He pushed you away at first, but you slowly wormed into his heart. And I know him long enough to know that he's truly in love with you, and perhaps that is what is scaring him off." She leaned back on her hands and looked up at the sky as she continued, "Loving someone is a good thing, but it's also a scary thing. You're constantly worried whether your other half might leave you."

Callum sighed. Up until Luo Guangying, he had never loved anyone before. Crude as that might be, women, up till then, were something for him to pass time with. He looked at the woman next to him and then at the baby inside the crib, and he asked, "Did you have that kind of feeling as well?"

Kai Xin smirked. She leaned forward toward the crib and placed a hand on her baby's chest and gently played with her baby, and there was a loving expression on her face as she looked at her baby. "Of course... Your brother is a very powerful and rich man... I didn't have the confidence that I could trust him to be with me for a long time back then. And for a long time, I didn't want to accept him."

"Then what changed your mind?"

Kai Xin smiled and looked at him. "Because he has never given up on me, and neither did he walk out..."
