....
The next few days passed by in a blur, and everyone was back to their own schedules. Even the twins were back from their trip. They cut their trip short because of a surprise visit from their maternal grandmother, who came back to visit the latest member of the Du Family.
As such, DX had made an announcement, giving all of his employees three days off... and this included Han Ye.
Unfortunately, Han Ye was not that happy about it because even though he was free, no one else was free to hang out with him. Since this was a special holiday and not a public holiday, schools were still ongoing, so he could not bother Tian Le nor could he try to hang out with Xiao Zhihao.
Callum and Luo Guangying were always busy, but Han Ye knew that their "busy" had nothing to do with work and more to do with the bed. Other than when they were visiting the Du Mansion, those two had been cooped up in their house. Either that, or they were out dating.
Apparently, both of them had decided to give up all pretense, and they had been photographed while they were holding each other's hands and when they were kissing in public. It had caused quite an uproar online and everywhere else, but DX's response was "this is for next week Du XiAn to handle. It's family time this week".
As for Lu Ziyan... Well, that guy had been going out on dates with An Xin most of the time, completely ignoring Han Ye.
Han Ye thought that he could count on Xiao Lei. Too bad for him, because his lover still had to work and he could only see her at night.
On the last day of his holiday, Han Ye lay on his couch while reading some work doc.u.ments for fun. After a while, he groaned and put away his phone. "I'm so boreeeedd..." he shouted at the ceiling. Standing up, he stretched his body as he wondered what he could do for today.
He picked up his phone and looked at the clock on it. "2.30 p.m. It should be almost lunchtime, right? She should be free to eat?"
Han Ye knew that Xiao Lei's lunchtime was usually around 1 p.m., but he refused to think clearly now. He quickly went to the kitchen and wiped up something simple before putting them into two lunch boxes. "She's pregnant with two kids, so she should eat more," he mumbled to himself as he put more meat on her bento.
Once he was done, he quickly went to take a shower and changed into a fresh set of clothes. After spritzing some Tom Ford Noir on himself, he took a sniff and smiled. "S.e.xy, Mr. Han, the other girls are going to be jealous..." he said to himself as he looked at the mirror.
After that, he picked up the lunch boxes, put them into a bag, and headed out toward the filming site. When he got there, he saw that there were many reporters surrounding the film site.
"We heard that the female lead has a secret identity and that she has been seen with many influential men. Can you please comment on this?" a reporter asked as he thrust a microphone in front of the director's face.
The director frowned as he replied brusquely, "No."
He was going to ignore this bunch of reporters, but when the noises they made affect the concentration of the actors and actresses inside, he had to do something.
"Mr. Director, we heard that President Wei personally requested for Ms. Xiao to be in this movie. Do you think there's something going on between them?"
"Mr. Director, for an award-winning director such as yourself, why would you use an actress who has no zero experience in acting?"
"What did Ms. Vivian Siew say about this? She's an A-list actress, but she has to work with, not just an unknown actress, but a complete newbie."
"Mr. Director, we heard that there's something between you and Ms. Xiao. There are some photos that show that you guys are very close to each other. Can you please elaborate on that?"
The director's face turned thunderous at the last question. "Either you leave now, or I would be calling for the cops. Unless you want to spend a night in jail, I'd advise you lot to scram!"
He thought that this would be it and turned around. What he did not expect was another reporter asking boldly, "Did President Wei tell you to do this so that you can protect his lover, or are you threatening us because you have something to hide?"
The director sighed and turned around. In the past, he could care less about these people, but President Wei had told him to take care of Xiao Lei personally. Regardless of whether those two had a thing or not, it was not his position to discuss or talk about it. His role was to finish up the movie and make sure that nothing bad happened to Xiao Lei in the meantime.
"Why did I even sign up for this?" the director said in a low voice before turning around.
"Either you lot leave now, or you'd be spending a night in jail, as per Mr. Director's advise."
When they heard that cold voice, everyone turned around, only to see Han Ye in a simple black shirt and black jeans holding a small bag in his left hand.
"Didn't you guys hear me?" Han Ye asked as he walked past them to stand next to the director. "This building, as well as the pavement that you're currently on, belongs to Du Corporation. If you don't disperse within two minutes, don't blame me for calling the cops on you guys for trespassing."
"Who the heck are you?" an ignorant young reporter sneered.
"Idiot!" someone hissed at him. "That's Han Ye, you idiot!"
"Who?" the young reporter asked.
"President Du's assistant!"
Another reporter whispered, "I heard that President Du gave him quite a huge rein! He can actually do as per what he said!"
The reporters glanced at each other, and some of them began to back away until they were standing on the road.
"I heard that Ms. Xiao has a strong backer, and that's why she managed to get the position easily without going through auditions like the rest of the actors. Perhaps... Ms. Xiao's backer is President Du? Can you please comment on that?" asked an unknown reporter that was hiding among the group of reporters.
