Chapter 353 - Ms. Zhang is not

....

The whole time, Han Ye could not take his eyes off Xiao Lei. The way she portrayed her character was so lifelike that he could not help but think that she was her character, a woman hellbent on revenge. And he was sure that she had entranced a lot of the cast members as well.

He looked around and saw that many people's eyes were on her, and some of them were even silently tearing up as she said her lines. He then looked back at her. Instead of scaring him off, the deranged look in her eyes made him feel proud of her.

"But then again, in a way, she's the same as her character," Han Ye thought as a smile appeared on his face. "It's just that she's on the path of revenge for the loss of her parents and childhood..."

Even so, Han Ye hoped that she would not end up in such a state like her character-- bloodied, and with hands that were covered with blood.

"Let me be the one with the dirty hands..." Han Ye thought as he watched Xiao Lei's character release the shot.

...

"Cut! Good take!" the director yelled. "Prepare for the next scene!"

The moment the director yelled cut, Xiao Lei stood in the same position for a few seconds. She closed her eyes, and she could hear people moving and talking around her. But she had to take time to slowly move out of her character.

Lately, the scenes that she had to film were mostly action and highly emotional scenes, and in order to portray the most realistic female lead, she had been putting herself in her character's shoes. To get into the right mood, she thought that the son of the female lead was Xiao Zhihao and that the enemies of the female were her uncle and aunt.

And every time she got into her character, it would take her a while to break out of it.

Meanwhile, Han Ye was watching from afar, wanting to go to her, but at the same time, he knew that she had to do this on her own. People were walking around Xiao Lei, but they did not do anything other than giving her a glance.

After a while, Han Ye sighed in relief when Xiao Lei opened her eyes and thanked some of those around her before skipping toward Han Ye.

"How was I? How was I?" she asked gleefully as she looked up at him with a pair of hopeful eyes.

Upon hearing her question, Han Ye could not help but blush slightly while replying, "Cute..."

Xiao Lei frowned slightly. "What cute? How's that a description for acting?"

"Well," Han Ye smiled and reached out to pat her head before saying, "I can't help it. You're so cute, even in that bloody makeup."

Xiao Lei raised a brow. "Do you have a weird fetish, Mr. Han?"

Han Ye shrugged and asked in a cryptic tone, "Want to find out tonight?"

Upon hearing that, Xiao Lei stuck her tongue out and snapped, "I'm going to remove my makeup now, Mr. Han. Please wait here!"

She then walked off with Assistant Yoon, leaving Han Ye behind.

And soon, Han Ye was surrounded by some of the cast members, who had come to know about his revelation earlier, and they were curious.

"Is it true, Mr. Han? That you are now with Ms. Xiao," the second male lead asked.

Han Ye smiled at the second male lead and nodded. "Yes, so if I were you, I would stay the hell away from her."

The second male lead gulped and nodded. "Don't worry. I'm not interested in Ms. Xiao."

"And why not?" Han Ye narrowed his eyes at him. "She's beautiful and smart!"

The second male lead was flabbergasted. He felt that whatever he said now would be a mistake, so he quickly looked around and said, "Oh! I think my assistant is calling for me. Nice to meet you, Mr. Han."

He then ran off before anyone could say anything, leaving a few of the cast members to giggle out of amus.e.m.e.nt.

"Mr. Han, when did you guys start?" asked a young woman who was working with the production department. She saw a video clip of Han Ye's speech earlier, which was already being spread on forums and various channels, and she was totally in love with their story. A secretary and an unknown actress? A boss and his employee? A secret office tryst? Many scenarios appeared on her mind.

Han Ye looked at her and chuckled. He then winked and said, "That's a secret between me and Ms. Xiao."

"Are those for Ms. Xiao? Did you make it yourself?" the young woman asked as she looked at the packed food on the table enviously. She then pressed her body closer to Han Ye.

Han Ye smiled, but he did not say anything.

"Oh, Ms. Xiao has eaten... Can I have her portion?" the young woman asked Han Ye with a small voice. She reached out to touch his arm as she asked so, causing her colleagues to look at each other before snickering.

Unfortunately for her, Han Ye did not have the mood to play with her. He took her hand away and picked up the packed food. "I'm sorry, but only Ms. Xiao can eat the stuff I cook. Now, please excuse me," he said before walking toward the direction of Xiao Lei's changing room, leaving the young woman's face to turn red.

After he left, Vivian Siew stepped out from her hiding place. She thought to herself, "Han Ye... I wonder if Ms. Zhang knows about it. Didn't the two of them date before?"

She and Angela Zhang were acquaintances, and she once saw Angela Zhang and Han Ye when they were out on a date. And she heard that Angela Zhang had broken up with her boyfriend. Even though she did not know if the said boyfriend was Han Ye, but given the circ.u.mstances and time period from when she saw the two of them together and from when she heard the news that Angela Zhang was a monster at the office, which usually happened when she broke up with her boyfriend, she believed that she was correct.

Angela Zhang did not take the break up properly. Vivian Siew laughed and said, "I wonder if Fan Xiyue told her about it. But after the stunt that he did earlier, I'm sure she would know soon enough."

Her assistant looked at her and asked, "Ms. Siew?"

"Nothing..." Vivian Siew said as she looked at her assistant. "That woman has been a thorn in my side for a long time, and I have been wanting to punish her for a long time. If not for Ms. Fan, I would have done something. Ms. Fan is weak, but Ms. Zhang is not. Angela Zhang would definitely do something about this."
