Chapter 107: Two Irreconcilable Adversaries Doomed To Fight To Death.

Pingding Mountain, early in the morning. There were phoenixes resting on the parasol trees, phoenixes flying in the sky, and phoenixes singing melodious songs.

At the top of the mountain, stood an imposing sacred tree, whose trunk was so thick that not even 20 people surrounding it could fully embrace it. Beneath the tree, there were several adult phoenixes in human form singing harmoniously to the accompaniment of the melody of the harp, concentrating on cultivating.

It was such peaceful scenery.

In Pingding Mountain, no matter what kind of bird, they could all be called phoenixes as long as they were enlightened by the Seven Southern Constellations. By immersing themselves in cultivation, phoenixes were able to transform into human forms. The phoenixes had always been indifferent to world affairs, they were pure in heart and didn’t have any kind of desire. For thousands of years, the only one to leave had been Lin Baihu, who formed a blood contract with Demon Emperor Zhonghua.

It had also been many years since the Qiongqi made blood flow in Pingding Mountain, so most of the birds in Pingding don’t remember, or know, of that event. It seemed as if that day had become a story, from which the pain and blood had been erased by time.

The one in charge of patrolling the boundary of Pingding Mountain today, looking for abnormalities, was a Crested Ibis1. Without having taken human form, the ibis flew into the air.

Suddenly, the ibis sensed something strange, swooped down and landed on the ground. As a result, it saw that a large crack had formed on the western side of Pingding Mountain. The ibis then covered the crack with its wings and held its breath to transfer its spiritual energy to try to restore it.

All of a sudden, a gust of Yin Qi and a bloody smell came from the depths of the crack.

The ibis froze. Right when it was about to withdraw its wings, a tiger-like claw suddenly emerged from the crack! The tiger-like claw grabbed the wing of the ibis and pulled it out!!!

It was as if both Heaven and Earth had become silent. But right the next second, the crack at the boundary of the mountain slowly overflowed with fresh blood.

The silence remained for a while, and when black blood spilled onto the grass, it caused the greenery to wither. At that moment, the tiger-like claw appeared again.

Immediately after, a monster with blood and flesh spewing from its mouth crawled through the crack. It had the shape of a tiger, hair that looked as sharp as needles, and a pair of black and brown featherless wings on its back. It looked extremely horrible.

The Qiongqi chewed the bones of the ibis in his mouth for a moment, and then slowly went up to Pingding Mountain.

Meanwhile, at the top of Pingding Mountain, a man dressed with clothes as red and bright as fire suddenly stood up with a horrified look on his face.

“Vermilion Bird2, Blue Sandpiper3, what’s wrong with you two?” A woman dressed in light yellow clothes sitting on the side asked, puzzled.

“The boundary has been broken!” The Vermilion Bird gritted his teeth, frowned, and made a sound of panic and confusion.

“How can that be possible?!” The Magpie Robin4 cried out at the same time that all the surrounding phoenixes noticed the abnormality as well. One after another, they abandoned what they were doing and stood up in a panic.

“Hurry! Everybody go hide in the east! I’ll go with Vermilion Bird to check it out.” The Blue Sandpiper made up his mind, and without hesitation, shouted out loud.

Right after saying that, Vermilion Bird and Blue Sandpiper looked at each other, turned into their bird forms in unison, and flew west as fast as they could.

The other phoenixes didn’t sit still either. Each of them transformed into their bird forms and flew off to warn the other birds on Pingding Mountain. Then, they flew to the eastern hills to take shelter.

Due to the limit on Pingding Mountain, very few clans could enter, so all the greenery and trees were lush and vibrant. However, at this very moment, the trees, plants, and grass around the Qiongqi, with its beastly claws stepping on the ground, withered. The withered land even gave off a stench of putrefaction.

However, Qiongqi looked extremely happy about all of this. It even ducked its head to spit out a mouthful of black blood a few miles away. In that instant, the grass, flowers, and trees completely withered. Not a single trace of wildlife was left. Qiongqi then raised its head, as if to admire its masterpiece. Suddenly, a fiery flame came from the air, aimed towards Qiongqi’s head!

The Qiongqi roared and raised its claws to extinguish the flames. Then, it raised its head to look at the sky and sneered.

The Vermilion Bird and the Blue Sandpiper looked at each other and nodded in unison. Then, the Vermilion Bird gathered a ball of fire at its throat again and threw it towards the Qiongqi.

This flame was even hotter than the previous one. So much that it even seemed that it could burn everything around it. The flame rushed over Qiongqi’s Gate of Vitality5.

The Qiongqi roared mightily and spread its wings to block the flame.

However, the flame was just a distraction. In that instant, the Blue Sandpiper rushed after the flame, and with its sharp claws and beak, it mercilessly grabbed the Qiongqi and pecked at its eyes. Qiongqi, seeing that the Blue Sandpiper’s claws were about to pierce its eyes, spread its wings, raising a great wind that blew the Blue Sandpiper away fiercely.

The Blue Sandpiper couldn’t dodge the attack and was hit by the Qiongqi’s wings. Once the Blue Sandpiper fell to the ground, it transformed into its human form as it rolled several times.

“Blue Sandpiper!” The Vermilion Bird shouted still in the air.

Qiongqi shook its head, as if it was laughing at their petty tricks. Qiongqi then walked over to the Blue Sandpiper, who was struggling to get up.

The Vermilion Bird swooped down at the Blue Sandpiper and grabbed it with its bird legs. It then flew into the sky, thinking that it could hide for a while. But just at that instant, Qiongqi’s wings spread over its back and flew towards the Vermilion Bird! Even though the speed of the Vermilion Bird was very fast, the Qiongqi had no trouble catching up with it.

Seeing the Qiongqi pounce on it with its bloody mouth wide open, the Vermilion Bird’s heart burst with despair. Knowing that it was going to die here, it sadly cried out to the sky.

However, the next second, a red light flashed nearby. At that moment, something fiercely pounced on the Qiongqi, throwing it on the ground!

Stunned, the Vermilion Bird looked down, staring in disbelief.

A white tiger with red eyes was attacking and biting the Qiongqi. The majestic White Tiger moved through the forest in the mountain, facing the vicious Qiongqi as if it had no fear!

Unwilling to be outdone, the Qiongqi spread its wings to shake the White Tiger off it. At that, both beasts stood in front of each other, roaring in confrontation.

The Qiongqi looked at the White Tiger and suddenly opened its mouth to speak: “So it’s you. I was thinking of taking your Neidan after I’m done covering Pingding Mountain in blood. But I didn’t expect that you would be so stupid to come find me instead. It seems that you can’t wait to give your Neidan to me, huh?”

The White Tiger said: “Indeed, I can’t wait. I can’t wait to kill you!”

The two beasts roared at the same time and pounced to bite each other!

The earth trembled, the birds and small animals scattered, and the roar of a tiger suddenly resounded through the sky. Two irreconcilable adversaries doomed to fight to death.

Yu Muyao moved behind his back, only to say in a low voice: “I didn’t expect the person that Demon Emperor Zhonghua adores would let his guard down so much. Didn’t Demon Emperor Zhonghua warn you of the danger you are in?”

It was A-Lian. She had heard noise and movement outside her wing room, so she went outside to see what was going on. When she saw the scene, she couldn’t help but be stunned. When she managed to react, she quickly stumbled forward and grabbed ‘Yu Muyao’s’ wrist, yelling: “Miss, what’s wrong with you?”

“Noisy. Annoying.” With an expression of disgust, ‘Yu Muyao’ released a hand from Qi Ci’s neck and made a fierce slashing motion towards A-Lian’s neck!

Right when A-Lian’s neck was about to be cut, Yu Muyao’s hand suddenly stopped!

The real Yu Muyao held her head with both hands, releasing Qi Ci from her grasp. With a face contorted with fear and pain, as if she was repressing something inside her, Yu Muyao shouted: “Don’t hurt A-Lian! A-Lian run, run!”
