Chapter 111 - Big Brother You’re Too Much

Zenia excused herself and went to the guest room where Vaughn was resting. He was sleeping peacefully, but the weariness could be seen on his face. He was able to reach the Anisen Manor in two days. He must've traveled non-stop just to get there the soonest. She touched his face but still could not completely forgive him yet.

If she wouldn't teach him a lesson, he might repeat it in the future. Zenia tried to convince herself that she should inflict him some pain so he wouldn't forget what happened for as long as he could. She sighed and was glad that she had a loving family and not like those scheming bunch of leechers in the Royal Family.

Vaughn was extremely tired and remained oblivious of his current surroundings. He was already tired when he arrived at the Anisen Manor and still knelt for so long. All he wanted to do was convince his wife to go home with him. He would do anything for her. He finally understood his great-grandfather.

The guards at the gate were trembling at the possible outcome of their actions. They all felt like they sold out their Commander along with the Military Advisor. They had no other choice but to confess when the Young Miss asked them. Her identity as the Young Miss of the Anisen Manor was more fearsome than being the Junior Commander of the Military Unit of Ishelon or Crown Princess of Tissuria. In the Anisen Manor, the Young Miss was second only to the Supreme Leader – Madam Renaria Lutheria Anisen.

The father and son duo were chuckling when they reached the front gates of the Anisen Manor. They were expecting to see the sorry state of Vaughn kneeling there. He deserved to be punished that way after what he did to their little Zenzen.

When the father and son arrived, they did not see even the shadow of Vaughn.

"Where is that brat?" Zander roared at the guards.

"Commander, the Madam and Young Miss took him in."

Ovid and Zander looked at each other. They never thought that Renaria and Zenia would find out. They went home earlier than usual to deal with Vaughn.

If Renaria did not order the servants to light up the gates at an earlier time, she wouldn't see Vaughn outside. She was glad that she did.

"Son, this is our fate. Let us face it like real men."

"Yes, father."

Both Ovid and Zander knew that they would not be able to escape the punishment of their Supreme Leader.

"Still nothing? Are you sure that those spies that we planted in the villa are doing their jobs? It's impossible for Vaughn to just sit around." Damien was furious when he was informed that there was no suspicious movement in Vaughn's side.

"They said that the Crown Prince wanted the villa to be fully renovated before he let the Crown Princess move in there for good."

Damien's face lightened, and his lips curved upwards, "Ha-ha-ha! Vaughn, Vaughn, Vaughn. You're just like any other men. You are disgusted with your wife that you want her to move out of your palace immediately. But, you still know that you need to give your in-laws some face."

"Your Highness, the Left Minister summons you to his estate immediately." One of the trusted aides of the Left Minister informed Damien.

"Did grandfather say why? It's getting dark."

"No, Your Highness. He only said that it's important that you go there now."

Damien hated it when the Left Minister would summon him without stating his reason. He felt like he was just one of his grandfather's minions.

"Tell my grandfather that I will be there in half an hour."

"Yes, Your Highness."

Renaria and Zenia knew that Ovid and Zander just arrived. Vaughn was fast asleep in the guest room. Renaria couldn't believe that her husband and son could be so childish at times. Zenia remained quiet. She knew that her mother was angry. She praised Vaughn earlier for being a good son-in-law. It was obvious that she liked her son-in-law. Zenia wondered how Vaughn was able to get her mother's good side.

"You're back early and together. Do you have a lot of free time?" Renaria's tone lacked the usual warmth when welcoming the father and son home.

"My wife, we have been training the men non-stop, and we just decided to give them a break so they can spend some time with their families."

Zander decided that it would be best to remain silent and let his father do the talking. It was him who ordered it, but it was his father who approved it. Otherwise, he should've stopped the order. Zander looked smug at the moment, and Zenia pitied her father for having a son like her Big Brother. He just dumped everything on their father.

Zenia sighed as her mother kept reprimanding her father. Ovid just answered, "Yes, my wife you are right."

Between her Big Brother and her father, she would always choose her father.

"Big Brother you are too much!" Zenia blurted out when Renaria took a break from nagging.

"Little Zenzen what do you mean? Your Big Brother did nothing wrong." Zander was already sweating when he saw that Renaria shifted her attention to her son.

"Why do you say that Zenzen?" Renaria finally asked, and Zander felt like running.

"Mother, it was obviously Big Brother who incited father into agreeing to his plan. He must have said something to father that provoked his ire."

Ovid looked at his little girl. 'Little Zenzen will always be father's little darling daughter.'

Zander saw that his mother was targeting him and looked at his father.

'What happened to let us face this together as real men?'

Ovid looked away, and it fl.u.s.tered Zander, 'I'm sorry son, sometimes a real man should retreat to face the battle another day. Good luck.'

"Zander Anisen, let's hear it." Renaria's commanding tone reverberated in the entire Anisen household.

The servants prayed for the safety of the Commander and hoped that the Supreme Leader wouldn't do anything too extreme to him.

It was already the second day that the real Crown Prince and Princess had been away. Zekiah was worried that the spies might get suspicious already. He told a guard to send Ruvin over.

"Crown Princess, what is it?" Ruvin was annoyed for being summoned suddenly.

He would rather supervise the renovations than be in the same room with an ugly wench. Zekiah looked around and when everything was cleared he began stating his business.

"The Crown Prince hasn't returned yet, and we need to do something to keep the play flowing smoothly. The secret guards are already conducting their search. While we wait, we need to make sure that everything is normal in everyone's eyes."

"You're right, Crown Princess, we don't know what the Ninth Prince's faction is planning to do."

"Have you received any message from Redivo?"

"They informed us that the Left Minister was eerily quiet, and it's making him worry too much."

"Can we go out tomorrow? Let's say I want to look around the places surrounding this villa."

"Where do you want to go?"

"Let us really take a look around. I haven't explored this place yet, and I want to know the kinds of things that can be found here."

"I will make arrangements for tomorrow. Do you want to bring a maid?"

"Yes, choose one of the spies that the Ninth Prince planted."
