Chapter 292 - Honeymoon (Part 1)

"I really want to have a daughter like Zenzen first," Zander uttered casually and did not show any other reaction.

Odessa did not know whether to cry or not. It seemed that the reason behind Zander's excitement was because he thought of having someone like Zenia for a daughter.

They had been married for almost four months now, and she knew that she might get pregnant too soon. Well, they had been doing it almost every night…and day. Given their age, they really must hurry to produce some offsprings.

Odessa wanted a big, happy family. They never talked about how many children they would have, but it did not matter. Zander alone was capable of supporting a big family. She did not mind giving birth to a horde of children. She knew her body, and she was certain that she was capable of giving birth to so many children.

"What if our first child is a boy?"

Zander looked at Odessa as if telling her that it would be impossible to happen. But, he saw the anxiousness in her eyes.

"If it's a boy, I will still love him no matter what. Zenzen used to dress up as a boy for a long time."

Odessa shook her head and sighed. She hoped that if they had a boy, her husband would not make him wear dresses. She really wished that their first child would be a girl.

"Let us rest now and go to the doctor first thing in the morning."

"Hmm."

Zander kissed Odessa and hugged her to sleep. A few minutes after, he started dreaming of his daughter. She looked exactly like Zenia, but with Odessa's eyes and hair. He smiled sweetly.

Odessa looked at Zander's face and caught him smiling.

'What could be making him smile in his sleep?'

Odessa leaned and whispered in Zander's ear. "Are you dreaming about your daughter?"

"Hmm."

Odessa chuckled and snuggled closer to her husband. She really hoped that her first child would be a girl. She found it quite amusing that the eldest son of the Anisen household was not aiming for a son as his first-born. Most families that Odessa knew would like to have a son so there would be an heir already.

She was excited about their trip to the doctor in the morning. She wanted to see Zander's reaction right away. She wanted to tell Zenia all about it, but she also knew that the Crown Prince and Princess of Tissuria were having a fun vacation somewhere. Odessa fell asleep after half an hour.

It was a peaceful and beautiful night. Everyone was sleeping soundly unaware of the storm that was slowly brewing. In Prazia, the Dark Magic Lord had given up on Azer and did not send another party to retrieve him from Tissuria. They did not find Azer in the dungeon of the Main Palace, and they searched everywhere for him.

They feared that Azer may have been killed already. The Dark Magic Lord had no use for him anymore. His grandson Roland, the First Prince of Tissuria, was showing great potential. He finally found his rightful heir and no longer need to rely on someone like Azer, although Roland's loyalty was still questionable.

"How is the Young Lord's training?"

"He is showing great potential, my Lord. He will surpass a Rank 3 practitioner soon."

"Continue his training. Is he beginning to show his loyalty to us?"

"I'm afraid not, my Lord."

"Hmm, it's still too early to expect anything from him. Give him more time and don't neglect his training. I hope that he will gain a sense of loyalty once he begins to feel real power."

"I understand, my Lord."

Marquis Emond Quivel looked out the window and stared at the starry night sky for a long time. He was betting everything he had for his grandson's acceptance. He hoped that it wouldn't be too late.

Zenia woke up the following morning feeling totally refreshed. She must have been too tired that she fell asleep just like that. She remembered that she was sitting on a chair last night. Vaughn must have carried her to their bed. She was still trapped within Vaughn's arms when she woke up. When she checked her husband, he was snoring lightly. He was too deep in his sleep.

Zenia lifted Vaughn's arms gently and freed herself from his embrace. She had a hunch that the Lead Maid would come again with meat and vegetables.

She got dressed and prepared the things that she would use in the kitchen. She had decided to go out and spend some time on a swing. When she opened the front door, she was greeted by the Lead Maid and her companions right away.

"Good morning, Madam. We are earlier today to deliver the ingredients. We did not want to disturb you and decided to wait here," the Lead Maid explained.

Zenia looked at the appearances of the ladies who came. It was a bit chilly so early in the morning. She noticed that their lips had turned bluish, indicating that they had been there for a long time. She also saw the many ingredients that they brought with them.

"Please come in and warm yourselves by the fireplace," she invited the ladies to come inside the house.

Everyone did not shy away from the invitation and went to the fireplace in a hurry. They lighted it and gathered in front to warm themselves. Zenia found some cocoa in the cabinet and already inspected it if it was still good. Luckily, it was still good.

She prepared some hot chocolate drink and poured it in five glasses. She handed the drink to the ladies, who thanked Zenia for her hospitality.

The eyes of the maids, including the Lead Maid, widened when they sampled the drink.

"Madam, this is the most delicious hot drink that I've tasted."

"Me too, Madam. I've never had this kind of drink before."

Everyone stated her own opinion and thanked Zenia for the treat.

"I'm glad you all liked it."

After some time, the maids stood up and cleaned their glasses. The Lead Maid approached Zenia.

"Madam, Chief Elder is looking forward to the dishes that you will make today. I need to trouble Madam and shamelessly request to please give us more than the last time. Chief Elder told me to bring you twice the ingredients that we brought last time. I even added another type of meat."

The Lead Maid wanted to crawl somewhere to hide. She had no other choice but to deliver the message of her employer. Zenia did not have any negative feelings toward the Lead Maid. She knew that she was ordered to say those things. She smiled when she saw the fl.u.s.tered look on the Lead Maid who had always been prim and proper.

"I will trouble the Lead Maid to return here before lunchtime."

"We can stay here to help you prepare, Madam. There are lots to be done. Helping you prepare can somehow help us save some face."

"Lead Maid, it is really okay. I can do it on my own. Besides, I feel more at ease doing everything on my own than having lots of people to help me out."

"We will no longer detain you, Madam. Just let me know if you need anything else. My apologies for being shameless. I hope Madam will not harbor ill-feeling toward us."

"I'm glad that Chief Elder enjoyed the food I made. I will make sure that he will love the dishes I will prepare today."

The Lead Maid and the other maids bowed their heads and left. Zenia looked at the ingredients, and they were indeed many. She also saw two types of meat.

She picked up the meat and noticed that it was frozen. She already knew that it was a bit cold in Shadora and even wondered if it was like that all-year-long.

'Where do they store their meats? They are still frozen.'

It would be helpful if she could learn the secret storage so she could use it in the restaurants that she was planning to put up all over Maecaea.

She began chopping everything and worked super fast. Vaughn was still sleeping soundly and had no idea that Zenia was so busy in the kitchen.

Zander and Odessa woke up early and ate their breakfast. Odessa told Zander that she wanted to be the first patient of the doctor.
