Chapter 14.5, Everyone’s After Stories, And A Few Words From The Grand Philosopher Part 4/4
| The Principle of a Philosopher by Eternal Fool “Asley” | Next Chapter>>
Melchi
Affiliation: Far East Wasteland
Alias: Philosopher’s Second Student, Devil King’s Senior
Status: Immortal
Background: After the war against Devil King Lucifer, Melchi chose to live in the Far East Wasteland with Tūs and Gaspard. In a gesture of affection — or perhaps just on a whim — she took Gaspard as her husband, though they never held a wedding reception. Details about her personal life in the distant wasteland were scarce, but according to Tūs, “She’s as loud as ever.” A senior to the Grand Philosopher.
Ryan
Affiliation: Holy Demon Kingdom
Alias: Devil King’s Messenger
Status: Immortal
Background: After the war against Devil King Lucifer, Silver Corporation received a national request: to assign a guardian to the doors leading to the Devil King’s audience chamber. Ryan, whom the Devil King trusted deeply, was deemed the perfect candidate. With his sharp gaze that allowed no intruders to pass, he guarded the chamber, often unnerving even the Devil King himself. When Ryan tried to leave the castle after his shift, the Devil King frequently asked him to run errands. Over time, Ryan’s role as an errand runner became so common that he earned the title “Devil King’s Messenger.” Upon learning that he had ingested a Drop of Eternity, Ryan remarked, “Regret might come later, but so will a lot more fun.” A friend of the Grand Philosopher.
Russel
Affiliation: War Demon Empire
Alias: True Light
Status: Immortal
Background: During the war against then-Devil King Lucifer, the perfect healing spell invoked by the now-Devil King Asley restored Russel’s eyesight. Russel then served as one of the War Demon Empire’s governors, earning the love of the people with his fair and just nature. They soon began to call him “True Light.” A friend of the Grand Philosopher.
Latt
Affiliation: Holy Demon Kingdom
Alias: Dark Communicator
Status: Immortal
Background: After the founding of the Holy Demon Kingdom, Latt continued serving as Warren’s Familiar, residing in the Devil King’s castle. To avoid unnecessary telepathic communication in the castle, Latt’s main task became relaying messages between the Junior Ministers — becoming the “black thread” of connection between them. For his ability to accurately grasp and convey their intentions, some called him the “Devils’ Messenger.” But the Black Emperors didn’t approve of this name, instead spreading the title “Dark Communicator.” When the two ministers discussed this forced name change through him, Latt remarked, “You two are the real Devils here. Maybe I really am the Devils’ Messenger.” A friend of the Grand Philosopher.
Lala
Affiliation: Holy Demon Kingdom
Alias: Farm Girl
Status: Immortal
Background: After the war against Devil King Lucifer, Lala led a major reform of Lala Farm. Alongside her mentor and Familiar, Tzar, she established the Seventh Lala Farm and dedicated herself to the development of agriculture worldwide. Years later, Tzar revealed to her the truth about her father, Diarmuid. Lala annulled her adoption and pushed Prime Minister Leon to officially recognize her and Diarmuid as parent and child in the Holy Demon Kingdom’s registry. Since then, she has spent her free time helping out at Diarmuid Kitchen, showing her gratitude to her father. A friend of the Grand Philosopher.
Reid
Affiliation: Holy Demon Kingdom
Alias: Worldwide Big Bro
Status: Immortal
Background: After the war against Devil King Lucifer, Reid took on the mantle of ambassador for the Holy Demon Kingdom, backed by Silver Corporation. With the approval of various nations, he embarked on a worldwide inspection tour. Reid visited cities, villages, remote settlements, and even solitary dwellings, ensuring he understood the situations of the people he met and reported back on them. His willingness to listen and stay involved until problems were resolved earned him the love of many. Whenever there was an encounter with an unfamiliar tribe, Reid was always present, his brotherly warmth breaking down barriers. It wasn’t long before people began calling him “Worldwide Big Bro.” A friend of the Grand Philosopher.
Lylia
Affiliation: Holy Demon Kingdom
Alias: God and Devil King’s Shield
Status: Immortal
Alias: Eternal Fool, Devil King, Idiot, Fool, Dunce, etc.
Status: Immortal
Background: Asley, the greatest contributor to the war against Devil King Lucifer, Grand Philosopher, and the very author of this book, made numerous achievements while governing the Holy Demon Kingdom as the new Devil King. His original magic, known as the “Central Gate,” allowed for the transportation of many people simultaneously, greatly boosting trade between nations and earning widespread gratitude towards the Devil King. Though Asley was accused of being the mastermind behind the “Eternal Stew Incident,” he vehemently denied any involvement. This incident sparked the nickname “Fool” among the populace, yet he achieved a suspicious 100% support rating in every public poll. This record remained unbroken year after year. Asley and his Familiar Pochi frequently sneaked out of the Devil King’s castle, earning scoldings from Prime Minister Leon and the Black Emperor. His usual excuse began with, “But Pochi did–,” while Pochi’s defense started with, “But Master did–.” As a result, both of them ended up being reprimanded. Though he boasted unmatched strength, Asley had lost several times to his lifelong rival, Tūs, who had mastered both the “Darklight Eikon” and the “Eternal Fool.” Despite Asley’s higher win rate, the outcome remained unpredictable. (Damn you, muscle-headed elf... You won’t get away with your shenanigans forever!)

[A Few Words From The Grand Philosopher]
Greetings!
Allow me to introduce myself. I am the “Grand Philosopher,” the author of this tome, Principles of a Philosopher. How do you find this book? It may sound immodest coming from me, but I believe this is a book by a Philosopher, for Philosophers. With this, you too are a Philosopher starting today. I won’t dwell on my intentions, but if you’ve read this book, you’ll understand the struggles I’ve faced.
Yes, I have been called a “fool” for as long as I can remember – as well as an idiot, a simpleton, a blockhead, etc. But I assure you, such names will not last. In fact, I’ve used my personal resources to print five hundred thousand copies of Principles of a Philosopher. With this, the world will come to understand and appreciate my achievements. Although others advise against it, I’m already preparing for a second printing. If my dear friend Warren reaches out, we’ll be ready to commence reprints immediately. I eagerly anticipate it.
Oddly, my loyal familiar Pochi and Tūs have claimed it’s “impossible,” but I have no time to entertain their delusions. Aside from my literary endeavors as the Grand Philosopher, I am engaged in another significant job that keeps me busy. Despite this, rest assured that I’ve already completed the plot for Volume Two of Principles of a Philosopher. Though some dissuade me, I chalk it up to jealousy of my unique role as an author.
To those who have noticed my mental and physical struggles through this text, I am deeply grateful. Your kindness reaches the heart of this Grand Philosopher. Regardless of what others say, the release of Volume Two is a certainty. This volume focuses on my struggles and growth, but it’s only the beginning. Expect much of my endeavors as the Devil King to feature prominently in the second volume.
The release date for Principles of a Philosopher is Month 10 Day 18, Holy Demon Calendar Year 3, a date with profound significance. It symbolizes my separation from the term “fool” – “gu’sha” in T’oued language – reflecting my wish to leave it behind in Month 9 Day 48, or “948” – “ku-shi-ya”. By adding 18 days to Month 9, I set Month 10 Day 18 as the release date. Bright has told me, “It’s impossible to part with the name of Eternal Fool,” but as a Philosopher, I find such titles merely obstructive. Being a Philosopher, I’m confident in my ability to thwart any resurgence of the Devil King without issue. Nevertheless, others continue to prevent me with all their might, a plight of the popular, no doubt (chuckles).
I’ve requested printing and binding from Silver Corporation, but due to budget constraints, this is where my “afterword” must end. Regrettably, I fall short of Itsuki’s economic prowess, so I’ll conclude here. Finally, my gratitude to everyone involved with Principles of a Philosopher. To Lina, Tifa, Fuyu, Haruhana, Lylia, and Irene, thank you for your design work. Bright, your contributions in editing – and Pochi and Warren in proofreading, are much appreciated. To everyone at Silver Corporation, thank you for your assistance with binding. And to you, dear reader, who purchased this book — thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Until we meet again in Volume Two of Principles of a Philosopher.
Farewell! Bwahahaha!!!
—Grand Philosopher
