Chapter 27 - The Lunch Date

Sera couldn't sleep a wink whole night and only closed her eyes at dawn.

Seemingly tired after racking her brain all night Sera was still sleeping when her phone started ringing.

Startled Sera fumbled to find the cellphone all whilst closing her eyes.

After picking up the phone from the bedside table she straight away answered the call in a hoarse voice.

"Hello", assistant Chen on the other side checked twice to see if he had dialed the correct number. After confirming that there is no mistake from his side, he cleared his throat and spoke in a calm voice.

"Hello, may I speak to Miss Seraphina Lu? I'm calling from Mr Ethan Lee's office"

"Huh? Oh.. oh yes yes. Tell me how can I help you", after coming back to her senses Sera sat up straight and answered calmly.

"Miss Lu, CEO wanted to remind you of today's lunch appointment. He said that he'll personally pick you up in about an hour and a half"

"Oh Okay Thank you", Sighing Sera hung up and instinctively turned to see the time on the bedside alarm clock.

"Shit.. It's 12 noon? How can I sleep in this late. Damn!! I'm late", her grumbling stomach was heard, "and hungry!", Sera exclaimed once again.

Sera hurriedly got up from the bed and ran towards the bathroom, seeing her reflection in the mirror she almost shrieked out loud,

"After sleeping till noon I still look like a freaking panda"

Sera dressed up in a cute off shoulder white dress with pale yellow detailing.

She looked stunning, her hair were let loose falling on her bare shoulders. Her face devoid of heavy makeup and her clean appearance made her appear elegant.

Sera hurriedly went downstairs only to find the house empty with just a few maids here and there, Aunt Zhou was in the kitchen and Butler Wu was not in sight.

Sera went to Aunt Zhou and asked about everyone's whereabouts,

"Oh young miss, you're up! Madam Lu and Mrs.Lu asked me not to disturb you. They're probably out shopping for the gala night. If you're hungry I can quickly whip up something", seeing Sera's confused expression Aunt Zhou explained her clearly.

"It's Okay Aunt Zhou, I'm going out for lunch. I'll see you"

As Sera went out of the entrance she saw a familiar figure sitting at the long bench by the man made lake.

Dressed in a clean cut dark brown suit Ethan looked dapper.

Sera walked closer to him, hearing the sound of her heels clinking Ethan turned around and was momentarily stunned.

Sera looked like a fairy descending from the sky, her white dress complimenting her skin tone. The bright sun rays shining on her making her skin glow, it was ethereal.

Looking at Ethan's dazed expression Sera felt awkward but quickly schooled her emotions and smiled faintly,

"Mr Ethan", she greeted politely.

"Miss Seraphina", Ethan curtly replied in the same manner and stood up making Sera chuckle softly.

Seeing her smiling face Ethan's expression softened and he walked over to her and took her hand into his own guiding her.

Ethan saw her limping lightly and instinctively helped her, like a true friend (at least that's what he thinks! silly boy)

Perplexed Sera looked at his big hand holding her little one, she glanced at his face only to see he is perfectly calm. Shrugging Sera decided to silently follow him.

Upon reaching the car Ethan like a perfect gentleman opened the car door for Sera before closing it, then walked over to his side and sat inside and stepped on gas

Sera was looking out of the window and a particular building caught her attention, It was the same mall which she had been to yesterday.

The same place where she met him. Seeing Sera in a daze Ethan tried to small talk.

"So I heard you're a art major", Ethan blurted.

"Yeah, I studied art, I've graduated long back. To be exact 9 months"

"Oh! But I've never seen you here", Ethan asked even though he knew she was studying abroad, this man!

"I was studying abroad for a few years now, Country A to be specific", They continued talking about trivial things when they reached the restaurant.

Unlike the last time this place was a fine dining restaurant, It was an expensive place and the food was exceptional.
