Chapter 29 - Monster

Ethan was sulking in his chair when assistant Chen barged inside the office with his million dollar smile, looking at him smiling like a fool Ethan felt like he was mocking him. Ethan angrily glared at assistant Chen making the latter gulp in fear.

"CEO I have some good news, Mr Adrian called earlier, the appointment is tonight at Royal Glitz"

"Okay, you can go home early tonight"

"Yes, Thank you CEO"

Assistant Chen couldn't believe his fate, he thought his boss would kill him when he glared at him with a murderous intent. Fortunately he's alive, and getting off work early.

Sera was in her painting room mixing colors when Aunt Zhou came in,

"Young miss, Miss Su Yin is waiting for you downstairs", Sera was surprised by the sudden announcement and nodded her head.

"Alright, Aunt Zhou I'll be there in a minute", She tidied herself before walking downstairs.

"Yinyin what's brought you here?"

"Huh? Such a mean friend you are! If I knew you'd treat me like this I wouldn't have come here at all..", Su Yin pouted her lips playfully.

"Aah? Am I your friend?", Sera teased her poking her nose with her slender finger.

"No you're not! Move I'm going back now..", Su Yin swatted her hand and turned her head away.

"Okay I'm sorry, I was just teasing you! Silly..", Sera held her shoulders and sat her down on the comfortable couch.

"I knew you're not braindead to treat me like that", Su Yin smiled her silliest smile.

"Now tell me what's up, I thought you were busy with the charity gala"

"Yeah, I was until I thought about you! You didn't get yourself anything when we went shopping.. and left me alone", Su Yin said with a pitiful expression making Sera pinch her cheeks.

"Okay I'm sorry, I had a minor accident! Forget it.. Show me what you brought", Sera successfully changed the topic.

"Uh! Yeah.. Umm wait a second..", Su Yin's cellphone buzzed distracting her.

"Hello.. Uh? Now.. But dad I'm at Sera's place.. Hmm I understand.. Okay", Su Yin pulled a long face and looked at Sera.

"I'm sorry.. I had to go! The gala organizers are having a meeting and I was going to help my dad, It just slipped my mind"

"Oh.. no problem, It's alright work comes first", Sera hugged her and walked out with her to the entrance.

At the Royal Glitz night club, Adrian and Ethan were sitting in a private room having a serious conversation with wine and dine.

"Lucifer told me you want to help him? It's too dangerous you know", Adrian paused trying to find words to convince Ethan to back off.

"I know it's dangerous, that's why I want to help. Without Mr.Chung he cannot overpower that monster and I know that", Ethan replied with an earnest expression.

"Fine, about the charity gala.. you sure about that? What if your plan backfires?", Adrian voiced his concerns.

"I just want to help him for once, It may backfire or It could be a success! It's a masquerade party, nobody will recognize you two unless you show yourself! Relax man.. I know Lucifer can handle this", Ethan smiled assuring him.

"Well.. If you say so!", Adrian laughed softly and clinked his glass with Ethan.

In a large mansion, inside the master bedroom stood a dark shadow staring at the streetlights from the French windows with an evil look in his deep grey eyes. His lips smirked in a menacing smile,

"Lucifer, Let's see if you will live through this time!", he grabbed the red wine glass from the glass table below and gulped it, throwing the empty glass on the floor shattering it.

Lucifer was fast asleep on his large bed, his forehead was covered in cold sweat, his black hair sticking to his sweaty forehead, his body trembling, lips slightly apart, eyes shut tight, his fists clenched tightly making his nails dug his palm.

A dark shadow appeared out of nowhere, pointing a gun to Lucifer's head and bang!

A startled Lucifer sat up straight breathing heavily, throwing off his blankets he went straight to the kitchen, grabbed the cold water bottle from the refrigerator gulping the whole bottle. He threw the empty bottle on the kitchen countertop, making a loud clanging sound.

"Just you wait, your days are over now!", Lucifer gritted through his teeth.
