Chapter 54 - Unpredictable

A beautiful smile bloomed on Sera's plump lips, looking at the message on her phone's screen.

She took one last glance at the mirror, checking her appearance and hastily went out of the room.

There he was leaning on his car waiting for her, dressed in a dark gray suit he was looking prim and proper, with a king like aura.

Lucifer's eyes darted towards Sera, he saw her sauntering towards him and raised a brow, a smirk threatening to breakout on his thin lips.

Sera held her breath when she saw him looking at her, but the next second he walked around opened his car door for her.

It would be a lie if Sera said she wasn't disappointed seeing his reaction. Her eyes dimmed seeing Lucifer walk away but she composed herself and walked inside the car and settled in.

Lucifer sat inside the car and reached for her seat belt, Sera held her breath in anticipation when he leaned forward.

Lucifer buckled her belt in a flash, sat straight and started driving. Sera's beaming smile faltered when she saw his disinterested eyes, his face devoid of any emotion.

Sera gaped at his side profile, her brain in a jumble mess.

"What's wrong with him? Is he mad at me!", she thought inwardly.

Lucifer was driving in silence while Sera was sulking, looking outside the window.

"This was supposed to be our first official date, why do I feel weirder by the second!", Sera sighed inwardly.

Sera was confused but she forced herself to smile, her smile never reaching her big bright eyes.

Sera's thoughts wandered to the day before, when Lucifer was flaunting his seductive smile looking at her when she emerged dressed in a yellow sundress from the mansion gates.

He even kissed her lovingly, looking at her with warmth in his gray eyes.

Sera was starting to feel uncomfortable, she parted her lips to speak but couldn't find words to express herself,

"Should I greet him? It's too late now isn't it! Maybe I should apologize, but how..."

Sera was in a daze when suddenly the car came to a halt, Lucifer jumped out of his seat and opened the door for her.

Sera composed herself and shot her best smile to Lucifer.

Lucifer clenched his fists, and walked ahead leaving a disheartened Sera behind. Sera hurriedly followed behind him.

Sera looked around, It didn't look like a five star hotel nor a fine dining restaurant, It looked like a penthouse. She peered around curiously.

Lucifer was nowhere in sight, the house looked neat and tidy, not a speck of dust around.

It was modern and young unlike her classic mansion, the interior here was classy and youthful, lively.

There living room was brightly lit, there were a few candles on the side tables. She was looking around when suddenly a pair of hands grabbed her waist.

Sera gasped in surprise but soon a familiar scent entered her senses as warmth spread across her bare back, Sera smiled victoriously as if she's won a fierce battle.

Lucifer turned her around and gazed deeply into her bright eyes, she was staring back at him with enthusiasm not a speck of doubt or fear in her big eyes.

Lucifer sighed deeply, then gently cupped her face with his hot palms. The heat from his palms making her face flushed, cheeks stained pink. He chuckled softly seeing her reaction.

Sera was surprised by the turn of events she had experienced tonight, Lucifer was behaving in a very unpredictable manner.

First he was indifferent towards her, but caring. Then he refused to meet her eyes but still dragged her here. He suddenly embraced her smiling even, with a warm gaze and now laughing like a madman.

"Yes! he's a madman!", Sera couldn't agree more on this as his actions spoke clearly.

Before Sera could speak Lucifer placed his finger on her inviting lips, she shuddered lightly and could only look at him confused.

"I'm sorry, I was behaving like a barbaric beastly creature. Sera, I shouldn't have scared you, I hurt you even made you cry when clearly I should cherish you. You're the most beautiful thing to ever happen in my entire life, I'm truly sorry"

Lucifer bowed his head after his monologue, Sera smiled softly upon realizing the intentions and insecurities of the man in front of her.

"It's not your fault, I was just scared. I thought it would be our first date but you're seriously spoiling the mood now! C'mon look at me now", Sera probed him.

Lucifer looked at her smiling sweetly at him, he couldn't wait to melt her in his arms but he resisted his urges and pulled back from her, earning a scowl.

Lucifer stroked her cheeks and laughed softly, He grabbed her tiny hands into his large ones and took her inside.
