Chapter 59 - Daredevil Lady In Black

Lu Jinan and Sera were sitting leisurely sipping tea by the lakeside in their garden. Jinan was a busy man and rarely had time to spend with his sister.

"Brother, I'm happy that you're at home today. I miss you", Sera pouted in a cute way.

"I miss you too, it's good that you're finally here at home", Jinan smiled at her.

"Brother, Are you close with.. Lu.. Ethan, Ethan Lee?", Sera actually wanted to ask about Lucifer but her fear of getting caught made her fumble.

Hearing his sister mention a man other than his father made Jinan feel disturbed, he tried to read his sister's eyes to find anything but was unsuccessful.

"I don't really know him too well, It's just on the business front. Why?", Jinan asked in an impatient tone.

"Just like that, You know I'm collaborating with him for my art gallery, So"

Sera told a white lie which was actually the truth, So Jinan didn't really think much about it.

"Hmm, You know that he is the prospective groom that made you run away last time?", Jinan cautiously asked gauging her reaction.

"Uh? Really? I.. No.. I had no idea", Sera was too flustered, now that she had Lucifer in her life thinking about Ethan in that light made her quite uncomfortable.

"It's okay, Don't worry too much about it. He probably has no idea about it as well, So relax!", Jinan tried to placate Sera.

"Whatever, I don't really care about it anymore. He's my business partners now!", Sera reasoned trying her best to convince her own easy heart.

"Hmm, I have a meeting later so I'll get going", Jinan left her alone to settle her thoughts.

Su Yin was in her office going through some files when her father called her over,

"Dad, I'm already busy with other things but still helping you out here in your office", Su Yin was in a bad mood.

"Yinyin, You have to attend this conference, I was going to attend it but I'm needed at S Country", Mr Su tried to explain.

"Fine, I'll go! But you have to give me a month long vacation to work in my own office rather than here!", Su Yin tried to negotiate with her own father.

"Deal, I'll let you do anything as long as you attend this Conference", Mr Su beamed.

Xav and Maya are still in the city, but they were a bit tied up by their tight schedules and couldn't entertain Sera.

Xav and Maya were traveling around the city, and countryside carrying out their deals.

Xav was in charge of the artifacts and antiques while Maya was just a tourist, accompanying her brother.

Xav and Maya were going to have a meeting tonight at 7 pm, in the renown Ramada Royal. The hotel was famous for hosting grand auctions, parties, charity galas and events.

Jinan was also having his meeting in the same hotel, but his clients were a lot simple people unlike Xav and Maya.

Jinan was waiting for the elevator when he saw a silhouette from the corner of his eyes.

The lady in black was dressed in a long floor length gown, hugging her curves beautifully, her short auburn glossy hair styled to enhance her beauty, her plump lips were dark burgundy wine colored, her eyes were dark brown complimenting her olive skin perfectly.

Jinan entered the elevator after her. He was stumped by her beauty but didn't appear flustered at all. He was looking straight ahead after staring at her for some time.

Maya was aware of the scorching gaze on her, it wasn't new for her to attract men's attention. So she remain unfazed.

The elevator doors opened and Jinan went out without even glancing back which was kinda new to Maya, She had met men who would sweet talk with her, pass business cards, but not Jinan.

He looked at her with fascination clear in his eyes but wasn't annoying or creepy like other lecherous men around her.

Maya's lips curled unknowingly, this man had piqued her interest. She was impressed by his indifference towards her. He was a handsome man with attractive features, tall, and seemed like a good man.

Jinan's meeting with his clients was stretched too late, It was nearly 11 pm now. He had his dinner with them and was preparing to return home.

In the dark pathway towards the carpark Jinan sensed something amiss but ignored it seeing that he was a bit drunk, probably an illusion.

Jinan started his car and drove away, halfway through the road he heard a loud bang. Jinan abruptly stepped on his brakes and his body jerked slightly.

The next thing he saw would haunt him every night, probably.

The lady in black was standing on the other side of the road, a black car was zooming towards her.

The lady's black dress had a high slit, under her dress was a belt tightly wound around her thigh. She grabbed the guns from under her dress and shot straight ahead.

The bullet hit straight through the glass, killing the driver on spot.

The car was speeding, going berserk Jinan wanted to stop the car by his Maserati but before he could react the lady had avoided the zooming car in a flash.

Jinan blinked watching the scene unfolding before his eyes, His head throbbing, his drunkenness was long gone. He was sober now watching the lady's daredevil act.

While Jinan looked on in daze, Maya had long gone sitting in a fiery red Ferrari zooming ahead and disappearing completely in the dead of the night.
