Chapter 77 - Workaholic Friend

While the brother-sister duo were enjoying their day bonding reminiscing their olden days, Lucifer was at Ethan's office.

Lucifer was busy these few days in Z City and had no time to spend with his bestfriend So he decided to pay him a visit.

Obviously he missed Sera more than Ethan, explaining how he sneaked in at early hours to spend time with her.

Nevertheless he came barging into Ethan's office because he hadn't seen him in a long time.

"Hello, My Workaholic friend", Lucifer blurted seeing Ethan buried in files.

"Oh! You're alive?", Ethan lazily spoke still burying his head in files.

"Yeah.. But I don't think you'll be well seeing how you're buried in work", Lucifer quipped.

"Just Shut Up! At least I'm responsible unlike someone", Ethan rebutted rather aggressively.

Ethan had heard about Lucifer leaving a meeting halfway and was surprised by his friend's actions. He had wanted to ask him but couldn't find a chance, so now he took a jibe at him.

"Whatever..", Lucifer slumped on the couch and closed his eyes, Ethan's words had triggered his thoughts back to Sera. Lucifer remembered how he had dismissed the meeting for their date.

He was in no mood to bicker with his childish friend, he'd rather daydream about Sera and spend his time blissfully than indulge Ethan into squabbling.

Speaking of Sera, Lucifer was already missing her badly. He is eagerly waiting for an opportunity to have their second date. Lucifer wants to spend all his time with Sera but he's aware that it's impossible given that his identity is dangerous.

Assistant Chen entered the office and was stumped to find Lucifer lazily leaning on the couch, his eyes shut tight.

Lucifer's phone buzzed breaking his reverie, he slowly opened his eyes and glanced at the caller id,

"Hello?", Lucifer spoke in a calm voice, startling assistant Chen.

"Okay, You're already here? How was the banquet? Why don't you just take a day or two off...", Adrian had reached B City and was planning on coming to Ethan's office, but Lucifer refused Adrian asking him to relax.

Assistant Chen who was listening to all this had a look of envy in his eyes, his eyes sweeping from Lucifer to Ethan. Chen glared daggers at Ethan and cursed him in his head. Such a cruel boss he was!

If only Chen knew what dangers Adrian had to fight every day to work as Lucifer, the devil's assistant. Chen would happily work under Ethan for the rest of his life for more than 20 hours a day.

Sera was helping Jinan pack his luggage for the business trip. After much deliberation Sera hesitantly asked Jinan,

"Brother, Wh.. Where are you going for...", Sera couldn't complete her question as Jinan interrupted her.

"A Country", he answered ruffling her hair.

"Oh!", Sera's eyes lit up hearing him mention A Country.

"Brother.. Could you please do me a favor?", Sera asked with a fawning smile making Jinan cringe.

"Uh.. huh", he answered arranging his files and placing them in his briefcase.

"I have some things for my friends, Can you please pass them for me?", Sera spoke expectantly.

"Fine", Jinan agreed.

Sera hurriedly ran out to her room, rummaging through her wardrobe she picked two black velvet boxes and came back running to Jinan's room.

One black box contained a pair of rare cut precious emerald earrings with fresh water pearls. They were an antique pair of earrings that Sera had acquired at the auction last time but couldn't find the chance to give them away.

The other box was a luxury men's watch with blue sapphires studded on it's dial making it look stunning, eye-catching yet trendy. Sera had bought these gifts for her friends but couldn't find the chance to give it to them.

Thinking back to these gifts Sera would love to gift Lucifer something, If only she met him earlier. The auction last time had lots of best goodies to choose from. She would've surely bought something for him.

"These..", Sera was panting slightly.

"Slow down, take a breather!", Jinan shook his head at her antics.

"These.. give these to my friends in A Country, I'll give you their contacts. If you want I can even give you their address...", Sera hurriedly said.

"No problem, I'll find you if something happens. I'll call you", Jinan kissed her forehead assuring her.

"Okay, brother take care", Sera hugged him.

"You too.. Take care. Don't make me worry about you..", Jinan patted her back before picking his bags and walking out of the room.
