Chapter 178 - The Han's Auction

After Lucifer left, Sera was feeling very lonely looking at the now empty bedroom.

She wandered around the room with a silly smile plastered across her face, reminiscing the time spent with him last night.

"I miss you already..", she muttered holding the towel that was wrapped around him earlier.

Sera soon broke into a fit of giggles when his flustered face flashed across her eyes, tears rolled out of her doe eyes.

Wiping the tears off her moist cheeks she looked at the place where Lucifer hugged her before leaving, she tilted her head thinking about something.

"What were you trying to say?", she frowned, the way he behaved was very unusual, totally unlike him, she shrugged lightly and walked to the bed.

Grazing the side of the bed where he had slept last night with her fingers and feeling the warmth of his body, his hugs and kisses she covered her eyes laying down on the bed, abashed.

Time passed by slowly but the hole in her heart was getting larger by the second, she wasn't willing to get up from the bed.

*growl*

There was a low grumbling sound which brought her back from Lucifer's thoughts, with a heavy heart she slowly got up, dragging her feet and opened the door.

Looking around the corridor with a wary gaze she placed her foot forward and sneaked outside, trying to remain as inconspicuous as possible to avoid suspicion.

After eating her breakfast which now had become her 'brunch', she went back to her bedroom with lightning speed.

Extremely bored, she decided to distract herself from Lucifer's smiling face in her head by painting. She then made her way to the painting room, and spent hours there making art in solitude.

Hours later when the sun was gradually setting into the horizon and the sky turned gray Sera's stomach grumbled again reminding her to feed herself for sustenance.

"I skipped lunch again!", hitting her forehead with the back of the drippy paintbrush she mumbled groggily.

Placing the paintbrush back into the stand and keeping the painted canvas out to dry, she removed her messy apron that was dyed in multiple blotches of paint.

After washing up and changing out of her messy clothes Sera made her way to the dining table.

"Hey! Where were you? I didn't see you at breakfast..", Lu Jinan asked halting his steps as he came out of his room.

Attired smartly in a black Armani he looked dapper than ever, his voice was deep and made Sera jump in surprise.

Turning her head Sera looked at him and smiled, it wasn't a happy smile rather a forced one, Lu Jinan stared at her odd expression with a puzzled look on his handsome face.

"That.. I was asleep", she dodged him and stepped sideways to avoid him and ran downstairs.

"Oh.. kay!", he mumbled looking at her little figure scurrying away like a kitten.

Sera's legs were looking rather long with the pale jeans draped around them, the quirky neon colored top enhancing her fair complexion under the white lights.

"Sera? Last night I heard some commotion coming from your balcony..", Lu Jinan told her, his dark eyes glinting with light.

Sera almost lost her footing and fell down, Lu Jinan hurriedly stepped forward and helped her pulling back. She tightly held his shoulder and sighed, closing her eyes, scared.

Her heart drumming loudly, he looked at her scared face and sighed exasperatedly.

"Why are you so clumsy!", he mumbled, poking her forehead playfully.

"I'm not!", she huffed and strolled away trying to escape her brother's interrogation.

Lu Jinan shrugged, following behind her with a mischievous smile descending the staircase lazily.

Sera was feeling uneasy looking at his huge grin, she knew her brother and he was a hard nut to crack.

"Where are you going?", she posed a question to divide his attention, Lu Jinan chuckled at her little attempts to deceive him.

"You wanna join?", he quirked his brow, she shook her head, picking up an apple and munching hungrily.

"Okay, I'll get going then..", he patted her head affectionately and walked out, leaving her as she ate her apple like the gluttonous girl she was.

"See you brother!", she mumbled still eating and waved her hand holding the half-eaten apple, smiling sweetly.

"Glutton!", he teased her shaking his head looking at his adorable little sister.

The Han's auction was the most prestigious and large-scale auction in the entire B city except for the underground auctions which were held on much grand scale, open to people from all walks of life.

Unlike the underground auction, the Han's auction was exclusive to the higher-class only, people from clean backgrounds were only permitted entry.

A shining silver Maserati halted in front of 'The Glass House' with a loud screeching sound attracting the curious gazes from the decked-up onlookers.

Xavier and Maya Martinez attired in stylish, branded outfits alighted from the sports car with an air of elegance surrounding them.

The brother-sister duo were garnering attention from all the elites and big sharks of the industry, holding their head high sauntering inside the auction hall through the glass doors.

"Damn! These heels..", Maya scowled, the brand new pair of crystal encrusted silver stilettos were hurting her feet, she muttered curses under her breath.

"Put up with it for a while..", he mumbled smiling, stroking the back of her hand reassuringly.

"Why the hell are we dressed up so extravagantly? Are you sure it's safe?", she asked looking around the hall, the duo were under everyone's scrutinizing gaze.

"Uh-huh.. Don't worry", he nodded his head and smiled looking at the crowd of people, his eyes lit up seeing a familiar face.

"I'll be back! Don't get into trouble..", he whispered softly, reminding Maya to stay out of trouble and not cause any trouble.

Maya wouldn't bat an eye to fight, kick or even kill a person. And Xav was worried exactly about this trait of her, she was hot-headed unlike him.

However, he was the one always causing trouble while she cleans up the mess after him, like the previous time.

"Hey! Where are you..", she asked him as he hastily walked away.

"..going?", she tried to grab his hand, alas only air came into her palm and she stomped her feet in irritation.

"Idiot!", she cursed at his receding figure and turned around to walk away from the crowd.

With an uninterested gaze and indifference, Maya strolled in a somewhat lethargic manner through the peering eyes occupying an obscure seat at the bar she perched herself.

Smiling at the bartender who was ogling at her with no sense of shame Maya ordered a glass of rose champagne because of it's low alcohol content.

Maya truly wished to punch the daylights out of the lecherous bartender!

Sitting quietly away from everyone she was observing the crowd with a surreptitious gaze as she sat waiting for her dumb headed brother, Xav.

Eyeing the entrance and exits she sipped the champagne gracefully, her big chocolate brown eyes masking her real emotions in them with a glint of light.

From the other side, the magnificent glass doors opened wide and Lu Jinan entered the auction hall turning heads, gasps were heard at young master Lu's arrival.

Lu Jinan's dark eyes sweeping around the lavish decorations and dressed-up crowd of people leisurely as he strolled inside with a dignified air and poise.

A middle aged man dressed to the nines reached his side in long strides with a fawning smile, Lu Jinan turned around as the heavy footsteps steps approached him.

"Mr Lu, It's an honor to have you here!", Han Qiming respectfully greeted him with a smile stretching his hand to shake.

"It's my pleasure as well.. Mr Han!", he shook Han Qiming's hand with a faint smile.

"I'll take you to your seat..", he offered to escort Lu Jinan to the balcony seat, every person had a different seating arrangement according to their status.

"No thanks, I'll look around for a while first then find my seat..", he politely declined his offer.

Lu Jinan wasn't interested in these kinds of events.

He was here only in Francis Lu's stead was busy with an overseas client and due to the friendship between Han's and Lu's.
