Chapter 213 - Everything Is Fine Now

The reason why Lucifer didn't bother dealing with Celine till now was all because of his master plan.

He was aware that someone was playing tricks behind the curtains and Celine was just a tiny puppet whose strings would be cut sooner or later.

Celine might or might not be dispensable to that person. Her life was dependent on her performance.

So, for now Lucifer was just going to keep tabs on her and gather information by tracking her. This is the only sensible solution lest they alert the mastermind.

Sera who wasn't aware of Lucifer's plans was getting agitated by Celine's pestering. She had no choice but to take matters into her own hands when Lucifer remained lukewarm towards the mad woman.

In all of that Sera didn't realize that her little attempt of driving Celine away had triggered Lucifer. His heart was thumping loudly, he could hear the deafening sound and his whole body shuddered in excitement.

"Okay.. Okay, I'll go..", she mumbled groggily with tears and nodded her head.

Satisfied with Celine's answer Sera loosened her grasp and retracted her hand back. She looked at the red mark on her wrist from the strength exerted by Sera in disbelief. She cried tears of joy feeling lucky that she was still alive and didn't die in her hands.

Celine then scurried away without looking back, her cellphone and purse were strewn beside the dead bodies.

All of a sudden Lucifer's gaze darkened, the cell phone's screen on the ground was blinking emitting a bright light in the dark. He halted his steps before strolling through the dead bodies to retrieve the cellphone.

His gray eyes flashed with abrup fear as he thought about Sera behind him, hands quivered for a second.

Without any hesitation Lucifer reached to pick up the cellphone and whizzed towards his car.

Yawning, Sera turned around with a weary expression to look for Lucifer. She furrowed her eyebrows in confusion, the urgency on his face and his body language was totally unlike his usual calm self.

Even when Celine was pointing a gun to his head he didn't lose his calm. Then why now?

"Lucifer..", she was about to ask him what's wrong when the man threw the cellphone into his car.

Lucifer swerved around startling Sera. Grabbing her little hand in his large palms tightly and started sprinting like mad runner forcing her to rush with him.

"What happened?", she squeaked, fear evident in her eyes as all the weariness vanished in a blink. Something was amiss.

Sera was still in a muddled state, matching Lucifer's speed as they ran quite far away before stopping. They hid behind a large tree with a shade to take a breather, panting.

Seconds after there was a loud explosion. Sera's heart trembled violently from the impact and her face paled.

A large drop of tear escaped her left eye that was still staring at the dark sky covered with fiery, orangish smoke. She couldn't imagine the consequences if they were just a minute late.

"This..", she trailed off, lips quivering with large saucer like eyes as she looked at the sky.

Looking at the towering man beside her who was protecting her like a mountain Sera couldn't help but breakdown. Sera's emotions turned haywire feeling an extreme gush of something unreal inside her.

Her small nose turned sour, feeling a lump in her throat she immediately lunged into his arms not giving a hoot about the dried blood on his shirt and started crying.

Lucifer's raging heartbeat turned normal, his face softened as he looked at the tiny woman in his arms. Sera was holding onto him for dear life and sobbing. His clenched, clammy fists loosened visibly as his furrowed eyebrows relaxed. A faint smile resting on his lips.

"It's okay.. It's Alright, everything is fine now", lowering his head he pressed a kiss on her unkempt hair and sighed deeply, his hand patting her back soothingly.

"Lucifer.. I..", Sera raised her head to look at him, his heart clenched seeing her dismayed, tear stricken face.

*ring* *ring*

Just as Sera was about to speak Lucifer's cellphone in his back pocket rang loudly in the serene night. She looked at him in surprise swallowing back the words in her mouth and smiled albeit a little strained.

Lucifer pulled her closer back into his chest snugly and hugged her, tightening his hold and patting her head reassuringly before answering the call.

It was Adrian calling. His eyes flickered with a cold light.

"Hmm.."

"Celine.. Yes! Find her.. Ask Dai Yu to locate her she shouldn't have gone too far"

"Don't bring Miss Callista out from the safe house.."

"Send someone to pick us up.. Hmm, don't worry I'm fine"

"Okay.."

Sera snuggled close to Lucifer listening to the faint rumbling of his chest as he spoke. Her eyes went wide when she heard him mention 'Callista', she understood everything and smiled, it was filled with pride.

Her admiration for him increased by leaps and bounds. He had a keen eye and a brilliant foresight to analyze things. Sera sighed in content, she really loved this amazing man in her arms.
