Chapter 236 - The Jealous Wife

Sauntering out of the ladies room with a subtle smile on her naturally pink lips Su Yin was caught off guard by Adrian's sudden appearance.

Her smile cracked, steps faltering with unease gripping her heart and mind. She wanted to run. She wanted to escape.

Like an obedient watchdog Adrian was leaning outside the ladies room, his back against the white walls decorated with paisleys in gold and orange.

"Yinyin.."

Seeing Su Yin's stupefied expression Adrian walked towards her, his hands reaching to hold her shaking shoulders.

"Are you alright?"

Adrian's tone of voice was soft, kind, filled with concern.

Su Yin subconsciously raised her head to look into his eyes. They were gentle, the ocean blue calming her gradually.

Why was this man so handsome, benevolent and sexy?

"Uh-huh.. I'm all good hehe.. Why are you here?"

Masking her emotions Su Yin chuckled lightly trying to brush off his sturdy arms over her shoulders.

"I.. I was here with a friend of mine and happened to see you.."

Feeling unsure if Su Yin caught sight of him with Callista or not, Adrian cleared his throat, smiling awkwardly as he spoke.

"Hmm.. Okay, bye"

Keeping up her act Su Yin walked past Adrian after bidding good bye with a polite smile on her face. He was baffled by their seemingly civilized interaction.

"That's all? Where was all the lashing out, jealousy and drama?"

Looking at Su Yin's receding back Adrian mused with a scowl, his heart tightened realizing something.

"Has Yinyin finally moved on? Doesn't she love me anymore?"

Adrian's pupils dilated with a foreboding feeling rising in his chest making it difficult for him to breathe.

Without sparing a second Adrian rushed to grab Su Yin from behind and carried her forcefully. She was taken aback by his impulsivity and started shouting.

"Sshh.. I just need to talk to you!!", he explained with a hushed voice to avoid attracting attention .

"Let me down!", she squeaked turning to look at him.

Adrian didn't pay any heed to her pleadings, he found a door and pushed it open. It was the backdoor of the bistro which was very less used by the customers and staff.

Placing Su Yin down on a plank against the wall and cutting all chances of her escape Adrian stared at her pale face. She looked weak and sickly yet her eyes were flickering with blazing anger.

"Are you mad at me?"

Gazing deeply into her eyes, his low yet profound voice was heard.

"For this? Yes, I am mad at you!"

Su Yin sassed while glowering at him. He smiled at her reply.

"I'm not talking about this.."

Adrian could see the confusion in between her brows, he rubbed the area with his thumb soothingly.

"You did see me together with Callista, right?"

He jumped directly to the question in hand with a straight face, her face turned sour at the mention of Callista.

"I know you did.."

Adrian didn't give her any chance to refuse or deny his claims. He was unwavering. It greatly irked Su Yin.

"So what if I see anything or not? It's your life.. I have no rights to interfere and why would I interfere? It's not like we're together.. And why? For what? We both know that we'll never get together again.."

Adrian stepped back in shock, her words were like knives stabbing through his heart. Su Yin, Like a mule completely unaffected stepped closer to him.

"I know you have a life to live and so do I.."

"And I want you to live your life well, marry, bear children.."

Like a broken record Su Yin went on and on talking endlessly until she felt Adrian's cold, frosty gaze on her unlike the kind and gentle one. She gulped her spit and shut her mouth reflexively.

"You don't care even if she's the one I marry and bear children with?"

Adrian's chilly voice that could make anyone feel cold to the bones was directed at the shivering Su Yin.

Su Yin stubbornly nodded her head before looking to her side avoiding his pressing gaze. It was suffocating.

"Yes! Even I'm here with my boyfriend, look.."

Saying that Su Yin wilfully grabbed the person talking on phone a few meters away. Infuriated by her words Adrian darted a deadly glare at the man beside her.

Without sparing a glance at the random person in her hold Su Yin pressed a firm kiss on his face. She was scared silly seeing the man's face.

"Yinyin!"

"Su Yin!"

The two men growled at the same time startling Su Yin. She nervously glanced at the enraged Adrian then at the dumbfounded Lu Jinan who was holding his face looking abashed.

"Hehe! See.. This is my boyfriend"

Even if she dies today the show must go on, Su Yin thought inwardly before continuing her act. It only added fuel to Adrian's rage.

"Let's go, baby.. Okay, bye!"

Right now Su Yin gravely regretted acting on a whim. Still she grabbed Lu Jinan who was standing confounded by her actions. She smiled at Adrian before pulling the lost man inside with her.

"I'm sorry about that.."

Walking towards their table Su Yin finally broke the eerie silence between them. Lu Jinan looked at her in a trance.

"It's okay.. Was that your stalker?"

Lu Jinan quirked his brow and asked coldly, she almost stumbled at his question. He caught her wrist which was seen by Adrian who was now in the shoes of the 'jealous wife'.

"Ah! Yes, yes..!"

Su Yin nodded her head. She thought that it was better to agree than explain their history. It was complicated.

"He was handsome thou!"

Oblivious to Adrian's murderous gaze and Su Yin's nervousness Lu Jinan chuckled thinking about Adrian's dashing appearance.

"Even men think that he's handsome! Hateful.."

Su Yin rolled her eyes grumbling in her head, annoyed.
