Chapter 6 - Dealing with the aftermath and Sacred Arts
“Order — All forms of brutality are forbidden. Those who violate this order will be subjected to unbearable pain. [Magic Constraint – Magic Gears].”
Souya quickly dealt with the six thieves. Magic Constraint – Magic Gears. It is a spell that restricts actions with pain, and to remove the spell, the wielder must be killed or the spell must be removed with the sacred art, Removing Curse. However, it is unlikely that any priest would be willing to perform such a sacrament on a villain like them.
(– I know, I’m being too easy on the bad guys. But It’s not my job.)
Mia, as a priestess of the Earth Mother Goddess Mikaela, doesn’t want to punish them with death, and Souya decided to follow suit. Their weapons were confiscated. The man who seemed to be the boss had a Western-style Saber that was of good quality and of such solid construction that it was too good to be used by a common thief. The other five daggers were not bad as disposable weapons.
“This Western-style saber is not bad. I’ll be using it for a while.”
After sheathing the saber, I continued to look for money, but unfortunately, no one had anything of value. They may have a hideout for thieves somewhere, and they may be saving it there.
(…… Hmm. Too bad. I was hoping that there’s a little bit of money. Worst case scenario, I’ll just sell this dagger.)
Souya used the rope from the thieves’ luggage to tie them together on the rocks. It was a bit of a rush, but this way, if the thieves woke up, they could be dealt with immediately.
“Thanks for the hard work, Souya-san …… Uhm, are you thirsty?”
Mia took out a water flask from her shoulder bag and tried to hand it to Souya after he finished his work.
“Thank you. I’ll gratefully accept it. Actually, I don’t have the necessary tools or money for an adventure. That’s why I wanted to teach you how to be a traveler, but I can’t speak for others.”
Souya took the water flask, smiled lightly, sat down on a nearby rock, poured the contents of the flask from Mia into a cup, and drank it slowly.
“Oh, the flavors of the wildflowers are really coming through.”
“Oh, I’m sorry, is that not your cup of tea?”
“No, it’s very pleasant. Are you familiar with wildflowers?”
“Yes, a little. I was able to collect it here in the meadow of Melborzas, for flavoring. It’s quite refreshing.”
“Thank you for the drink. Thank you very much, it was very tasty.”
Souya felt a little more clear-headed with the water.
“I’m glad to hear that. Later, Souya-san. Uhm, are you perhaps …… injured?”
Mia said to Souya with a worried look on her face.
“I’ve been looking at it for a while now. It looked like you were hit in the stomach. I was going to use the sacred art of recovery immediately, but ……”
“You couldn’t use the sacred arts at the right time?”
“I fail as a cleric.”
It seems that Souya’s point was right on the money, and Mia turned her face away apologetically.
At that time, Souya was surrounded by thieves, and it was difficult to see him from the outside, so it must have been difficult to support him. It would have been inevitable if the timing had not been right.
“I’m fine. I’m not seriously injured.”
“If you’re not seriously injured ・・・・・ then you’re slightly injured.”
Mia put her shoulder bag at her feet and stood up, picking up her Cleric’s Staff.
“You’re overreacting.”
“Please, let me heal you, Souya-san.”
Souya was adamant, but Mia didn’t back down one step. She is staring right into Souya’s eyes.
A cool breeze blew and Mia’s lustrous blonde hair shimmered.
Souya was admiring the scene for a moment, but quickly came back to himself, took off his business suit, and examined the area where the Western-style saber had made a direct hit.
As I had expected, the area that had been hit had a small bruise, and there was some pain when I pressed the affected area with my finger. But it was nothing to worry about, as the swelling would go down within a few days.
(She was naive. In addition to that, she is stubborn. She is a troublesome girl. Well, maybe it’s better to let her return the favor than to stubbornly refuse it.)
“……. Looks like it’s been bruised. Then, since it’s a good opportunity, I’ll ask Mia-kun for help.”
Souya indicated the slightly pale area with his finger and told Mia.
“…… Ahhh. It looks painful.”
“It’s not that bad. This is clothes is a very good magic item. Thankfully, it canceled out most of the shock.”
The business suit given to me by the goddess Eris is strong and durable, and also has a blessing to repair any tears in the clothing. I’m sure It wouldn’t be easy to find better armor than this.
In the previous transfer to the other world, Souya remembered that he had requested the Goddess Eris to do something impossible, and for a while, he had been adventuring in an enhanced school uniform, and Souya couldn’t help but smile.
“Well, here we go …… Please don’t fail.”
Mia clutched her Cleric’s Staff, and began to pray with her eyes closed. The grass at her feet began to sway slightly.
The sacred arts were prayers in which pious priests and priestesses borrowed and exercised miraculous powers from the gods.
“–Earth Mother Goddess Mikaela, grant him the miracle of healing. [Cure Wounds].”
The small bruise on Souya’s abdomen disappeared cleanly as the pale shining light green light from the cleric staff enveloped the affected area.
“…… Looks like it was a success. Thank you, Mia-kun.”
“I’m glad …… Souya-san, how is it? It’s thanks to the Earth Mother Goddess, Mikaela, of course. “
Mia smiled at Souya as if she had done it.
In the eastern sky behind Mia, the morning sun was peeking out and shining slightly. Souya couldn’t help but narrow his eyes at the sight of it.
