Chapter 31: The Tide Arrives

Chapter 31: The Tide Arrives

[You have 10 minutes before the monster tide arrives. Make your final preparations.]

The moment that this prompt appeared in front of everybody, they couldn't help but feel their hearts beginning to palpate. Those that had already tested the feeling of getting stronger with each and every monster that they killed, were looking forward to the monster tide.

As for those who had yet to even choose their professions at the moment, they couldn't help but begin trembling in fear. Everyone of them knew what a monster tide was. There was a basic introduction about it, which of course Henry ignored.

They had experienced the attack that had been launched on the facility previously. Many people died in front of them. And the casualties that they had experienced was definitely the most cruel one.

Just thinking about the monster tide that was about to descend, they couldn't help but start trembling in fear.

Henry of course saw this. Even though it was true that these people had submitted to him, that was just for dealing with the monster tide. After they were done with that, he was going to choose those that were going to have some value to him.

Knowing about the apocalypse, there was no way that he was going to carry around people who were going to be nothing but a burden to him.

Adam went back and stood beside Henry. Since the other party had already decided to join them, then there was no need for him to continue fighting.

During the fight, even though it was true that Adam was surrounded by several people, he was actually not even wounded. This was to be expected considering that he was at a higher level than them, and he was putting on an armor.

"What should we do?" Adam asked after a moment. The monster tide was coming, and they had to make enough preparations on how to deal with it.

"Just find a good spot where you can easily target the creatures that are going to attack us. There's nothing we can do here. The facility is so big that we cannot cover it all. So, just find a good spot that will be advantageous to us when we are facing the monsters." Henry replied. Reêad latest novels at novelhall.com

After that, he got into the car followed by both Sarah and Adam. As for those that were willing to follow him, Henry simply ignored them before driving the car into the facility. It was standing at the entrance, which was not a very good position at all.

After he had driven a good distance from the entrance, Henry stationed the car closer to a building. This place wasn't close to an open place. For that reason, Henry was sure that they were not going to be easily swarmed by the monsters.

After parking the car, he opened the compartment and released the wolf. After that, he opened the spaces which storedthe weapons.

The group took their weapons, and began preparing to face the monster tide. Since Sarah was a mage, and she didn't have that much of a fighting capability, Henry decided that the Storm wolf was going to protect her.

As for him and Adam, the two of them were going to run rampant. With the thought of the rewards that were going to be granted, like the one that he had been given an option to select a skill, Henry was willing to try and level up as much as possible during the monster tide.

Henry's expression turned solemn. Even though he had expected that the monster tide was going to be dangerous, he had never expected it was going to be of this intensity. After all, the survivors present in the facility were few in numbers.

Even so, grabbing the raging fire flood sword in his hand, he didn't have any plans of retreating at all. In case he wanted to find his family, then he had to get stronger. And the only method that he could utilize to get stronger, was to kill even more monsters.

The moment that the countdown on the screen in front of them reached zero, a large group of monsters appeared in front of the facility's entrance.

The group of apocalyptic creatures that were attacking this time consisted of both predators and prey. But, Henry knew that this was just the first wave of the monster tide.

This could be said to be the apocalypse's mercy for the human race. During the first wave that was going to attack them, the monsters that were going to attack were only consisting of those that had yet to reach the rank level, to those that had already reached rank 3.

The unranked monsters definitely made the numbers. As for those who were in rank 3, those were the least. But even so, the power that they possessed was not to be underestimated.

But even though the situation was tricky for the human race, this was their only chance to rise up. They could use this chance to kill 10 unranked apocalyptic creatures.

If they manage to do that, they will be able to select a profession. And from there, they could use this first wave to strengthen themselves.

If there was any human that was still in hiding during the first wave, then, during the preceding waves, they were definitely going to suffer.

The waves that were going to follow consisted of some of the strongest monsters in Rank O. For that reason, if they didn't use the chance in the first wave to strengthen themselves, then, it would be a matter of luck if they manage to survive the coming tide.

"Be careful during this attack. Be ready to pass assistance in case there is a need for you to do that, and there is a chance for you to so." Henry instructed.

"Okay. And, are we supposed to assist that group?" Adam nodded his head before asking as he looked at the group that had followed them.

"Just ignore them. Only help those that you believe have the potential to grow stronger in the future. There's no need for us to take in useless people." Henry shrugged his shoulder as he replied.

Adam had also thought the same. As for Sarah, she had been following Henry and Adam around for a while now, she had already gotten used to their personalities.

Even though it was true that this wasn't the way that she should have behaved if she wouldn't have met them before, she still had to follow how they were doing things. She wasn't ready to become a burden, for them to abandon her.

As for the matter of leveling up, for her, it wasn't that much hard to get to a higher level. Even though she was a light mage, and she was supposed to get stronger with the number of people that she managed to heal, she was still able to level up by killing the monsters.

Tightly holding onto his sword, Henry took a step forward and slashed towards a bear that had appeared in front of him.
