....
"What the hell was that!?" Spiritflame shouted.
He looked around, attempting to understand what the fuck had just transpired, and what he saw left him stunned!
"T-The invader is here!"
One of the High-Rank monster kings got to it first as he pointed a trembling finger in the direction of the blast in the wall.
"The intruder!? How could this be possible!?"
"He was supposed to be on the Eighteenth Floor! How did he get to the Nineteenth Floor so fast!?"
A few Monster Kings shouted out with astonished looks on their faces.
They refused to believe that the intruder had made it to the Nineteenth Step mere hours after they received the information that he had entered the Eighteenth Step!
But, in spite of their resistance to the idea, the facts were standing right in front of them, in the form of a tall, otherworldly handsome man with long, raven black hair, wearing some form of slime suit.
"Sup bitches!" Azmond said with a wide grin.
He was randomly probing around a few seconds ago. But then, out of nowhere, he felt the aura signatures of hundreds of slightly larger ants huddled up inside some weird black dome at the bottom of an ocean.
And he wouldn't be Azmond if he didn't barge right in and see what was popping!
His toothy grin was shown to the world before, in a playful voice, he asked, "How come I wasn't invited to the party!? Isn't that sort of a rude way to treat your guest!?"
"!!!" "!!!" "!!!"
His 'friendly' voice sent chills down the spines of all the Monster Kings present as they fretted what'd come next!
*****
A month and a half before Azmond made himself welcome at the meeting of the High-Rank Monster Kings.
|Are we almost to the 16th Step yet!?|
The bubbly voice of Boundless sounded out inside a very familiar swan ship as she, along with Azmond, Emu, and Calista, were on their way up to the Sixteenth Step of the Luminous Grounds.
"What does it mean to touch a catkin's tail?"
He held nothing back and asked her straight up!
A deep red blush emerged on her rosy cheeks as she turned her head down.
Following such an action, her hands started fiddling with each other while her silky white hair covered her face.
"Hmm?"
Azmond immediately noticed the unusual change in Calista's countenance, as he assumed he had gone a little overboard in asking such a thing.
"You don't have to answer if you don't want t-"
"No! I don't mind" She blurted out with a sudden change of demeanor.
"You really don't have to-"
He attempted to tell her that he wasn't forcing her to answer; however, it seemed like she had already made up her mind as she muttered, "I don't mind"
Even though Calista said such words, the blush on her face only seemed to deepen as she lightly clenched her hands above her thighs.
Azmond observed every single reaction she made, as he couldn't help but let out an exasperated sigh at her stubbornness.
'Who does she take after being so obstinate??' He asked himself with a tired expression.
Azmond was completely unaware that Calista was partly the way she was due to his influence.
Nevertheless, he waited for Calista to begin speaking again.
And that was when a small whisper came out:
"Marriage..." she murmured in an inaudible way.
"Sorry, what was that?" Azmond asked.
The blush on Calista's face reached a degree of no return before she turned her adorable face in his direction and said, "Touching a catkin's tail means that you are engaged or already married to the catkin!"
For the first time in a long time, her voice came out in a loud tone, as she couldn't stand the embarrassment anymore!
