Night fell and the bright moonlight showered on the eerily silent forest.

Suddenly, a massive silhouette streaked across the sky above the forest. The faint Dragon Domination emanating instinctively from it even led many Beasts dwelling within the forest to scurry away in fear.

Spotting the cave he had previously occupied while in mid-air, David Jones smiled and said to Rainbow, “Let’s land for now. We’ll enter the Relic tomorrow.”

The Trainer’s Arcane Star can enhance the growth rate of Pets, and the breakthrough growth of the Pets can in turn drive an increase in the Trainer’s Arcane Star and physical fitness.

With this reciprocal boost, the cultivation efficiency of Trainers and Pets can exponentially increase. This is one of the reasons why the Ultra-capable from Blue Star were discarded.

At this moment, David Jones was meditating in a brightly lit cave. He was consolidating the dramatic increase he had gained from Rainbow’s evolution that day and gaining a clear understanding of his current situation.

Sensing the significant boost of his Arcane Star, a faint smile edged onto David Jones’ face.

Observing their Trainer immersed in his cultivation, Rainbow glanced at the pile of stones at the entrance of the cave before lying down to rest, continuing to keep vigilant and scan the surroundings of the cave using Confusion.

By late night, David Jones’s eyelashes were fluttering as if he was reaching a critical point in his meditation.

Moments later, his eyes popped open. A flicker of teal light vanished into the darkness of his pupils.

David Jones couldn’t help but stand up and stretch, letting out a lazy sound.

His Class II Arcane Star overflowed with a halo of teal light. Although he was still some distance away from breaking through to Class III, he felt more than satisfied.

“If I could experience another Species Evolution feedback, maybe I could aim directly for a Class III Arcane Star.”

Upon thinking this, he couldn’t help but snicker. Such good things don’t happen every day. It’s better to cultivate steadily and practically.

Making a fist and feeling energized, David Jones looked down at the smooth muscular structure of his body and felt as if he could kill a Fresh Polar wolf with just a single punch.

Gazing at the dark rock in front of him, a strange thought suddenly occurred to David Jones, “How strong is my punch right now?”

Glancing at Rainbow, who looked as though it was dormant, the enthusiastic David Jones couldn’t resist punching the rock wall in front of him.

“Hiss!” A soft gasp echoed in the tranquil cave.

Within a second, David Jones quickly withdrew his fist. He looked down and noticed a faint swelling on the back of his hand.

“Thank God I managed to hold back my strength.” Feeling a slight pain on his knuckles, he heaved a sigh of relief.

Rainbow, lying on the ground, barely reacted, having grown accustomed to his outbursts. She nonchalantly glanced at David Jones beside her, showing no surprise.

“Just as I thought, my Trainer is at it again!” Rainbow mused.

Capitalizing on his deep Arcane Force, David Jones casually massaged his own hand, then used Arcane Force to relax and circulate his blood.

After a short while, noticing the swelling on his hand had already subsided, David Jones looked up at the rock in front of him.

By this time, the dark rock wall was covered in a spider-web pattern of deep crevices, with small rocks occasionally crumbling from these fractures.

“Sigh, even though the power upgrade inside me feels strong, it looks like the strength upgrade to my skin is a bit weak in comparison.” muttered David Jones.

David Jones had only used fifty percent of his strength to avoid injuring himself. When he saw this was the result of his attack, he was rather disappointed and shook his head.

“It seems that I’m still only a match for a Fresh Intermediate level pet at best. As for a Fresh Superior level pet…well I wouldn’t want to look like I’m begging a fellow Trainer not to let it kill me during a battle.”

Looking down at Rainbow silently meditating on the ground, David remembered the extra strengthening he had promised at dusk had not yet been fulfilled.

“I wonder how long my Dragon-Wielding power enhancement can last now?” Feeling his physical strength restored to its fullest, David chuckled.

Thrilled, David Jones squatted down next to Rainbow.

Seeming to sense the approach of its trainer, Rainbow immediately stopped its meditation and cultivation, looking at David Jones with puzzled eyes.

“We still have one more Dragon Force enhancement today. Do you want to use it now? I still have to test the limit of my dragon-wielding power later,” David whispered.

Rainbow blinked its eyes, belatedly acknowledging his suggestions and rapidly nodding in consent.

A subtle light radiated from David’s palm. He stretched out his right hand, gently touching Rainbow’s cheek.

Rainbow let out a soft hum of enjoyment, as if the touch from its trainer became increasingly skilled, causing a warm current to become even pure as it flowed throughout its body.

A minute later.

Feeling the slow drain of his physical strength, a wave of joy overtook David’s face.

It seemed that he could significantly improve the efficiency of his dragon crystal production in the future, freeing him from the troubling constraints of his previous schedule.

David contentedly stroked Rainbow’s head, then returned to his sleeping bag.

He planned to create the dragon crystal next, while also testing the duration of his current strengthening abilities.

David knowingly took out his blood drawing kit from the Star Ring.

Twenty minutes later, David gazed at the luminous, fiery-red Dragon Crystal in front of him, a hint of fascination flashing across his eyes before he fell into thoughts.

Currently, he could maintain the Dragon Force enhancement for twenty minutes at most, which, when translated into frequency, allowed for around twenty enhancements.

Excluding Rainbow’s daily five enhancements, he could utilise all his remaining physical strength to refine dragon crystals. Just over a dozen days’ time would suffice to create an intermediate Dragon Crystal!

“Following this schedule to produce dragon crystals, perhaps I can accumulate enough Dragon Crystals needed for its next evolution before Rainbow’s strength hits a bottleneck.”

David glanced at the meditating Rainbow beside him, mulling over his thoughts.

Feeling suddenly weary after relaxing his mind, David checked the time before slowly releasing a long breath.

“Is it this late already? I can’t afford to keep going! Continuing like this would surely break down my body resistance!”

With that thought, he unzipped his warm sleeping bag and crawled inside.

Early the next morning.

David, deep in sleep, was awakened by a lick from Rainbow.

David took out his phone to look at the time. It was still tens of minutes away from his scheduled wake-up time.

Looking at the puzzled Rainbow, he asked, “What’s happening?”

“There’s a foolish beast near the cave trying to kill itself!”

There was a hint of surprise in its vague dragon’s chant.

“What?”

At those words, David was taken aback. Why on earth would a perfectly fine creature want to end its own life?! Do beasts also suffer from depression?

After quickly preparing himself, David had Rainbow remove the pile of stones at the entrance of the cave with its Psychic abilities, then leaped out.

The morning sunlight wasn’t blazing, but David found himself involuntarily squinting. Immediately afterward, he curiously looked in the direction Rainbow had pointed out.

There, at the edge of the forest under the mountain peak, a small deer was using its head to repeatedly ram a huge tree that required several adult arms to encircle.

It seemed as though it was trying to prove whether its head was harder, or the massive tree in front of it was!
