“Over here, please.” She gestured with a polite smile.
David Jones gave a slight nod and followed the staff member to a window seat. “This is a list of alchemy furnaces stored in the Trainer Guild. You can automatically match the suitable cauldron by testing with your Trainer Badge.” The staff member explained gently as she handed over a well-set tablet computer.
David Jones took the tablet and took out his junior Trainer Badge from his Star Ring.
“Beep beep!”
Accompanied by two mechanical sounds, a wealth of Alchemy Furnace information appeared on the screen of the tablet.
David Jones’ eyes were filled with anticipation. As his gaze slowly moved across the tablet in his hand, the smile on his face involuntarily deepened.
“These cauldrons seem quite impressive just from their descriptions!” He slowly moved his fingers across the tablet screen, and could not help exclaiming.
[Universe Furnace]: Class III arcane implement, a cauldron meticulously crafted by Universe Technology, requiring a Fire Arcane Crystal to start. This cauldron can forge up to Class III elixir.
In automatic mode, it can produce ungraded elixir on its own, selling price 100 contribution points.
[Blackwood Furnace]: Class III arcane implement, a cauldron created mainly from blackwood. During Alchemy, the aroma of blackwood that rises within the cauldron can slightly improve the success rate of elixir making. This cauldron can forge up to Class IV elixir. The only drawback is its very short lifespan, with a maximum usage of three years, selling price 200 contribution points.
“Too bad, these two cauldrons are good, but still not tempting enough.” David Jones thought to himself, sliding his finger upwards quickly, bringing the list of alchemy furnaces to the end.
“Oh, this is a high-level cauldron!” David Jones’ eyes lit up slightly. [Scarlet Furnace]: Originally a Class V arcane implement, it was severely damaged and downgraded to Class III. The furnace contains Scarlet Flame, which can be used for alchemy or absorbed by Pharmacists to become a Pharmacy Flame.
This cauldron, after repairs, can produce up to Class IV elixir, and it can slightly improve the success rate of Class III and below elixirs, selling price 1,000 contribution points.
Seeing the final selling price of the furnace, David Jones’ eyes sank. He finally found an alchemy furnace that caught his eye.
David Jones thought that all the cauldrons appearing on the tablet were within his reach, but unexpectedly he was short by a whopping 500 contribution points.
“Excuse me, can I use Star coins or pet resources instead if I don’t have enough contribution points?” David Jones looked up at the staff member who was watching him.
“I’m sorry, all the alchemy furnaces shown here only accept contribution points in exchange.” She hesitated slightly at his words, then replied with an apologetic smile.
“Alright, I’ll take another look.” David Jones nodded regretfully.
Currently, he was only a pharmacology apprentice who didn’t possess the Pharmacy Flame of Pharmacist heritage.
Unless he used the Universe Furnace, David Jones would not be able to produce an elixir of Class I or above with ordinary fire.
The Scarlet Flame contained in this Scarlet Furnace, if stimulated by Arcane Force, might allow him to successfully produce a Class I elixir.
“It’s a pity that I don’t have enough contribution points. I guess I’ll have to painfully give up on this Scarlet Furnace.” David Jones sighed lightly, before flipping upwards for some new cauldrons.
After a moment, a hint of surprise flashed in his eyes.
[Aurora Cauldron]: Class III arcane implement, the furnace contains the Aurora of the Aurora Lizard, which can be used for alchemy or absorbed by Pharmacists to become a Pharmacy Flame.
This cauldron can produce up to a Class III elixir, selling price 500 contribution points.
“Just right, it seems that the recently acquired contribution points are not going to hold up!”
David Jones sighed inwardly, and then quickly clicked on ‘Exchange’; he did not want to miss another suitable cauldron!
Handing the tablet back to the staff member in front of him, David Jones asked with a smile, “How long do I have to wait to receive this alchemy furnace?” “Please wait here for a while; someone will deliver it shortly.” “Alright,” David Jones replied.
“Hello, this is the Aurora Cauldron you exchanged for.”
An employee in uniform, without knowing when, appeared before David Jones. His Star Ring shone, and a dignified, entirely black-green cauldron suddenly materialized before David.
This green alchemical furnace consisted of two stoves stacked on top of each other, and its size was even more petite than what David had earlier seen in the pictures.
On both sides of the cauldron were intricate images of two Aurora Lizards. The upper stove was a bit small, with a greenish hue and stood on three feet, whereas the lower stove was relatively broader, bearing a blackish-green tincture, mounted on four legs.
“What a splendid cauldron!” David could not restrain his internal delight and quietly exclaimed.
Even from a distance, he could faintly perceive the sizzling essence concealed within this Aurora Cauldron.
“If there are no issues found during the inspection, please confirm and sign off here!” Reminded the employee before handing out a receipt for David.
David glanced at the information on the confirmation slip and signed his name upon verifying its correctness. His gaze then firmly returned to the cauldron before him.
The next second.
He stepped forward, delicately running his fingers along this seemingly archaic Aurora Cauldron, which felt unusually smooth to touch.
After a few seconds, David stowed the Aurora Cauldron into his Star Ring and promptly walked away.
By the time David arrived at his apartment, night had already fallen.
“Rainbow, remember to shrink your size a bit before you come out of the Star
Ring.” David looked at his slightly cramped bedroom and conveyed his thought. If Rainbow did not control her size with the Size Adjustment, her gigantic frame would hardly fit in this small bedroom.
The deep green Rune Circle vanished in an instant.
Gazing at Rainbow’s innocent face and the bed that was instantly crushed under her weight, a hint of helplessness emerged on David’s face.
“Seems like I’ll have to find a larger place tomorrow. Otherwise, Rainbow’s very movement could spell disaster for this room!”
Looking at Rainbow curled mid-air, David thought to himself.
“Buzz, buzz!” The continuous vibration of the mobile phone in his pocket took David out of his thoughts.
“Be careful not to break the wall!” David reminded Rainbow before taking out his phone.
He noticed a number from out of town displayed on the screen, which aroused his curiosity.
“Hello, who is this?” He asked softly after picking up the call.
“Hello, is this Mr. David Jones? I am Elijah Dragonjoy, the Vice Dean of Dragonsoar Academy. Congratulations, you have been admitted by our academy…”
Without giving it a second thought, David Jones hung up the phone.
Joke’s on you! Had he not known that Dragonsoar Academy had been in session for over half a month now, he might have fallen for the deception!
And for all that talk of being the Vice Dean!
In the Flowery Kingdom, students admitted into the Beastmaster University won’t be notified by a phone call.
They can only check the website for the status.
Moreover, he’s a high school senior who hasn’t even taken the Beastmaster’s Examination yet.
This sort of scam is so old-fashioned!
It’s nothing more than a money-grabbing enrolment, which had tricked a good number of students in the past.
He would have perhaps bantered with the scammer in the past, but he certainly doesn’t have that luxury now.
