Meanwhile
Yang Khan, being a loose cultivator at the moment, stepped cautiously into the ancient tomb of the Immortal, in hopes of obtaining some dime.
As his feet touched the cold stone floor, darkness enveloped him like a suffocating shroud, leaving no trace of sunlight to pierce through.
'Eh? What is this darkness?' he said to himself while his hand moved as if he was dancing, summoning dazzling golden runes.
However, the runes slowly turned dim and vanished.
'Oh! There seems to be some kind of mechanism to stop people from using light,' he thought to himself while he had already seen three paths in those brief seconds.
Left, right, and center.
'strange on the map there were only two paths but in front of me, there are there paths...'
Despite the confusion, Yang chose the path down the middle, drawn by an inexplicable force guiding his steps deeper into the labyrinthine crypt.
As he moved where the path led him, he soon reached a place with a strong smell of blood.
Fully fresh blood.
Gulp!
He swallowed his adam's apple while fear began to creep into his heart.
He wasn't a powerful cultivator however he still had runes, if the sword isn't useable, use a spear instead.
Tak! Tak!
He slowly walked forward in pitch darkness completely unaware that someone was right behind him.
The void walker, the human like dark figure created from the void, raised its hand and placed it on Yang Khan.
A strange yet beautiful pattern of runes came out from Yang Khan's body blocking the palm of a void walker.
As soon as the palm and runes came in contact with each other, the void walker was instantly killed.
"Huh?... What is this creature?" Yang Khan said looking at the void creature unable to fathom its origin from a glance at such darkness... The wise hermit once said; It was dark, and I couldn't tell which one was my wife so, I fucked every woman in front of me.
Leaving aside the Void Walker, Yang Khan, moved forward feeling more confident than before, his chest high as the sky.
Yang Khan chuckled to himself. "Hah, that was too easy. I bet there are more pitiful creatures lurking in the shadows, waiting to meet their demise by my hand,"
He felt proud of his runes like a father to his child who managed to shine among his peers.
As he strode forward with renewed confidence, scanning the oppressive darkness for any further signs of movement.
The pungent smell of blood grew stronger, making his nose twitch.
"Ahh! What a talkative brat, I really hate people such as yourself," Saying that, the deep menacing glowing eyes got closer and closer to Yang Khan.
Gulp!
Yang Khan's ass began to sweat, his heart pounding crazily.
His legs were shaking like a weak timber tree during the phase of the earthquake.
"Y-You!... Stay away from me," Yang Khan's voice was weak and swallowed.
"What happened? You suddenly recalled your mother? Don't tell me you have 10 kids that are hungry or a sick grandma... There is NO MERCY HERE, ONLY D.E.A.T.H... Death,"
Swoosh~
With that, the unknown beast suddenly jumped and rushed towards Yang Khan.
In a hurry, Yang Khan summoned a barrier made out of runes.
The rune barrier flared to life, shimmering with golden light as the hulking beast slammed into it.
Clerckkkkk!
A deafening crack echoed through the chamber as the barrier buckled under the sheer force of the impact.
Yang Khan gritted his teeth, pouring more of his spiritual energy into strengthening the barrier, but the creature's relentless assault was wearing it down.
"Gah! This... This thing is too strong!" he cried out in dismay, sweat beading on his brow. "My runes are supposed to be unbreakable, yet it's overpowering them with ease!"
Roarrrrrrrrrr~
The beast let out a bone-chilling roar, its crimson eyes burning with malevolence. Saliva dripped from its gaping maw, filled with rows of razor-sharp fangs.
Yang Khan's heart raced as he realized that his usual bravado and arrogance were quickly crumbling in the face of this unstoppable foe.
He had to think of something - and fast - or else he would meet a gruesome end in the darkness of this cursed tomb.
Desperately, he searched his mind for any other tricks or techniques he could use.
There had to be a way to turn the tide of this battle in his favor. Suddenly, an idea struck him.
Gritting his teeth, Yang Khan began to channel more of his spiritual energy into the rune barrier, pushing it to its limits.
The golden light intensified, growing brighter and brighter until it was almost blinding. Then, with a mighty roar, he unleashed a powerful shockwave from the barrier, sending the beast reeling back.
"Take this, you vile creature!" he shouted, his voice echoing through the chamber.
