Chapter 99 Prisoner

Name:The Supreme Level Up System Author:
Aion waited for a while, standing above the roof of one warehouse facing North. Until he noticed some flashes of light coming from there and then some noise. The Scarlet tigers did their job and will continue doing… Come to think of it, Aion didn't know when they should stop. He will have to see them for his orders to work. That was the only weakness of the skill.

"Time to hurry up…" Aion thought, and then he jumped.

Aion will make it do with the little strength he had in that class without using magic. In the blink of an eye, he finished the hole and jumped on it. As soon as that happened, he found himself surrounded by ten or so guards. They either were a lot more cautious than the other assholes, or they have some pretty valuable things in there.

Five of the guards tried to stab Aion with their swords, but then he used Inner Force and lowered his stance, and charged into space between the swords. His magic staff hit the stomach of one of the guards and then sent him flying until his back was hit against one of the cells. Before that could even happen, Aion was already hitting the face of another guard with his weapon. Even without much strength, Inner Force increased his attack power too much, so Aion had to slow down…

Aion was too fast for the likes of mere guards. Thanks to that, all of the others hesitated. Some of them even ran toward the entrance of the place… They needed reinforcements and to surround the place. Still, Aion jumped toward them. Hitting the back of one of them and grabbing the head of two others, making their skulls collide against the walls.

The guards apparently didn't have much training… They were only good at hitting helpless slaves… That was a letdown. Aion felt like he should end things quickly with magic, but he couldn't show more. Otherwise, they would think that he opened the hole using magic… It would be a lot simpler if Aion could just kill them. Unfortunately, he wasn't that cold-blooded.

Those five didn't put much of a fight, and they ended up on the floor as well, with a good part of their faces purple due to Aion's attacks. Regardless, after such a scene, it was only natural that the prisoners would be wide awake. They looked at the hooded figure, but they couldn't tell who Aion was.

"It is your lucky day, I came to free you all," Aion said with his forced rough, and then he saw close to fifty cells. "This is a pretty large prison…"

Aion didn't have time to check everyone, so he used Inner Force to break the bars and then tossed to everyone some bags filled with food. As usual, some people were fast to leave the cells, others not so much. Aion was in a hurry, but he stopped that when he saw some prisoners kicking the heads of the guards. They sure had quite the grudge against them…

"You can find something to kick later…" Aion said after he grabbed those guys from behind and threw them away. If you have much energy, look for weapons, ropes and food."

The violent guys didn't like that Aion stopped them, but they knew better than trying to pick up a fight with someone who was freeing them. They decided to follow Aion's orders, and then Aion resumed his own things.

When Aion was about to finish, he found in the last cells some eggs… He sure hoped that they were dragon eggs, but Aion didn't think that his luck was that great. He was reincarnated once, so probably used all the luck of many lifetimes. Aside from the eggs, in which Aion decided to keep with himself, he found someone locked up in chains attached to the walls… It was probably someone very powerful for the slave traders to go that far to a single slave.

The prisoner was a man who had gray hair, but he didn't look old. His hair was gray, and Aion confirmed that his eyes were also gray when he opened them. It looked like he had been starved for a while, but he still had a fierce light in it. Upon taking a close look, Aion also saw that the man had some need marks on his chest… he had been drugged.

"He is probably from a very far away land… I never heard of people with gray hair," Aion thought.

"Your aura… you are one of them…" the man said.

Aion didn't like to hear that… he still could be identified since his mother, and he were the only survivors of that magic species… Still, he didn't feel any malice in his words, and the man didn't say anything else in order not to alert the others.

"Free me, and one day I will offer my life to you once I confirm that my people are fine," the man said.

"I don't really need your life…" Aion said. "Why are you here?"

"I am one of the few… that still follows the teachings of our god," The man replied.

He mentioned the god, not the goddess… Artemisia didn't mention that her people did anything like rituals for the goddess, but others might do that. In any case, that was weird since the god abandoned that world a long time ago, or so the stories say.

"Please…" the man said.

He didn't seem like a bad guy, and while he looked strong, Aion felt like it would be better to turn him into a death knight… but...

Aion decided to help that guy. He seemed like someone knowledgeable, so that might come in handy later. He opened the cell and tried to destroy the shackles, but Aion felt his power being drained when he did that… It was a magic relic that drained stamina and mana. That was the first time he had seen something like that... it was rather dangerous.
