It was still hard for Aion to have a good sense of distance from his sisters, and it felt like they had the same problem. Still, he accepted their help while they were walking across town to look for magic items. He avoided the ones who showed any sign of prejudice to his mother's family, so he wasn't a regular of any shop in the capital. Still, this time, all of the owners managed to keep their poker faces in front of him… the only thing that they revealed was their eyes turning into dollar signs since they were essentially a bunch of rich kids.
"Our list of magic items has variety and quality. We can guarantee as well that they are the cheapest of the whole capital," The merchant said while smiling suspiciously at me, he broke into a cold sweat after looking too much, though.
Bullshit… that was what Aion wanted to say, but it was better not to ruin the mood of the group. In any case, Aion ignored the items that had clear gems of other monsters' body parts that added magic properties to the items. Their effects were only partial and weak.
"By the way, Aion… why I never see you walking around with your weapon?" Henri asked. "Even if the capital is peaceful, that is also reckless considering what happened years ago."
"I am having some bad flashbacks now… even though I don't remember the whole thing," Georges said after showing a pained expression.
"I don't have a particular favorite weapon, and I can make one with magic, so it is fine," Aion said.
"You should show us that sometimes," Elio said. "Doing that here probably isn't a good idea."
"Do you train your magic often?" Darina asked.
Aion felt like his sisters were taking turns talking with him out of shyness or for some other reason. Darina was tall for her age, so her long straight black hair tied up in a ponytail sure suited her. Aion massaged his eyebrows… while he wasn't their father, he was starting to understand the conflicting feelings of one.
"Yes, my mother's magic is useful since it doesn't have many restrictions," Aion said. "I train it whenever possible and to solve the problems of the territory."
"Such as?" Henri asked.
"We are getting sidetracked… you might not believe it, but a while ago, I removed a massive rock that was blocking the path of a channel that we were building," Aion replied.
"Now that is something that I really want to see… can you show us later?" Henri asked.
"Think of my position a bit… if I use such large-scale magic when you are so close by, some rumors will spread," Aion said. "Besides, I can't use anything like that in the capital."
"Well… that is a pity," Henri said.
Aion put his left hand on his chin and began to think he had to give a gift to his brother for the wedding. While he already had brought something else, perhaps a memory would be better.
"All right, I will show you all something nice later. It might spooky you all, though," Aion said.
"Hahaha, I am a trained soldier and future commander of many armies. Few things can actually make me spooky," Henri said.
Says the guy who was until recently afraid of that arranged marriage… Regardless, Aion ended up buying a lot of things since he had the extra money he used to improve the parameters of the reset classes. After that, they returned home, and then he stored those items.
Aion confirmed that Lexus and the mothers of his siblings weren't around, so he created an earth platform and jumped over it. He felt like he would end up getting scolded anyway, but he decided to be quick about it.
"Hop on. We don't have all day," Aion said.
The girls who knew about the laws of magic knew that a lot of mana was necessary to keep that thing floating. It was essentially a pretty heavy boat that consumed the mana of the user over time. They didn't think that Aion had enough power to keep something that big afloat alongside nine people on it. The boys didn't hesitate, but the girls eventually joined them.
Although the platform was made of earth, the surface was completely even and firm. That showed how much power and control Aion had over that… eventually, he made fly even higher. None of them were used to the heights, and even though Aion put some bars around to prevent them from falling, they felt their legs losing strength.
"We barely started. Should I stop?" Aion asked.
"No… no… you can keep going," Henri said, trying to show a strong front while his face was as white as a ghost.
Aion kept going for a while, slowly, since the altitude might make people get dizzy and see things. Eventually, he stopped when everyone could see the capital below completely. They also could see the sun setting and without any obstacles, and from so high, it wasn't anything like they had seen before.
Aion had traveled around the world when he was young, so he was used to planes and that kind of scenery. Still, it was a lot better… he never noticed it before because he focused on the mission. In any case, the sun eventually disappeared on the horizon, and Aion decided to return to the garden.
He was in a good mood, like the others… in fact, they were a bit too excited. Still, Aion got depressed when he saw his mother and Lexus waiting for him… he was going to get so scolded… he was too old for that.
Before they could say anything, Aion let the others jump, and then he began to do handstands on the platform. He also made three others and made them fly around. All that was to confirm that he had absolute control over his magic and that he had plenty of fuel to use.
