Aion made the monster fly as fast as possible in direction of the dark clouds, and much to his surprise, the monsters around didn't chase him. It seemed that they were trying to avoid that area… the reason for that was unknown, but he was thankful for.
Aion used that chance to approach faster and recover mana, but then the monster and he collided against an invisible barrier around the mountain. That was a type of magic that he had never heard of… The monster suffered a lot of damage since it flew too fast. In the end, Aion jumped from the creature and then flew around the area, trying to sense and feel the limits of the barrier.
Some lightning bolts fell at the top of the barrier, but that didn't work to weaken it… Aion would have to think of a different way to open it aside from using brute strength. That might complicate things since Aion couldn't calm down after coming this far.
"If the monsters are wary of this, this probably has been here for a while," Aion thought while looking around. "This mountain is surrounded by many others, and considering the monster's territory, it isn't surprising that no one found it."
That barrier probably was set up by his mother's people a long time ago, and while he wasn't a complete Mirelian, he still was half of one. If the barrier couldn't let him pass, then the barrier had some sort of key, and Aion had to find it.
There was also the possibility that the barrier had a secret entrance, and for the time being, Aion landed nearby to look for that while he also thought of what the key might be. That will take a while, but he had his magic powers to decrease the search time.
"First of all, let's look for paths that people can use while carrying an unconscious person," Aion thought.
From what Aion knew, the survivors of the Mirelis Kingdom might have escaped through East, North, and South. The people of the bandits' country seemed like the type who would accept any job as long as they gained a lot of money from it, after all. In the North and South, they could have escaped using boats and then headed to those mountains eventually. So, Aion decided to look for an entrance on those sides of the barrier. Fortunately, it didn't take long for him to find distortion in the barrier… but something was weird, it seemed like an entrance, but Aion still was repelled by it.
"This is the entrance, but I still need a key …" Aion thought. "Just my fucking luck…" Aion thought.
Aion crossed his arms and began to think… he had to think of the key to the barrier and move on to the center. Aion didn't know a single idea about that thing, and he couldn't imagine the need for a key when it was already such a hard place to reach. Finding the entrance was also only possible because he could use his mana on the ground to notice and feel the mana around him… to some extent. If he were one of the ancestors of his mother, what would he do to create a third lock on the temple? How could he make sure that no one else aside from their people could enter such a place?

Since they used elemental magic without incantation, unlike the others, Aion assumed that a few secret incantation words weren't the key to the barrier. If Aion were them… while looking at both hands and he had such knowledge about magic, he would use something only his people had to create the final lock… his blood.
Aion opened a small wound on his hands with his sword and then touched the barrier with that palm dirt with blood. The barrier reacted as he felt his hand pass through… soon after, Aion crossed with his body as well. It wasn't something complicated… Regardless, Aion didn't have time to waste, and he flew to the top of the mountain.
Although he didn't hold back when it came to speed, Aion was still hit by something all of a sudden when he approached the top of the mountain. He only realized that when his back was almost crushed when he hit the barrier again… a massive earth pillar hit him and Aion let out a sigh when he saw others flying toward him.
After zigzagging and approaching the mountain again. Aion saw the entrance of a building with some pillars inside it. It was almost at the top of the mountain, but there was a cloaked guy standing there, and Aion could tell that it was the one who had attacked him. So many assholes getting in his way… Aion felt that one of his veins was going to burst due to anger.
The earth pillars were emerging from the mountain and flying toward Aion at fearsome speeds… he wondered why that was the case. It would have been better if the cloaked guy summoned those around him. That would have been great for protection as well.
"Unless… he is using the mountain to save mana," Aion thought.
That seemed like something simple to do, but then again, Aion never heard of that, and his mother never did something like that. Aion thought that creating elemental magic would be the hardest and most efficient way to use it. However, since he could just transform his mana into the elements, it was the easiest to control once he got the hang of it. However, using the elements around to use magic the way he wanted seemed like a harder step… but more cost-efficient.
"Well, I can think about this later…" Aion said and then flew toward the enemy.
The Earth Pillars got faster as Aion approached and eventually, he was unable to dodge them, but Aion kept advancing, even though when he blocked them with his shield, he felt his bones cracking…
