The next few weeks passed rather fast since nothing major happened. After the party, the ship headed toward the Zaera kingdom as fast as it could… Aion had been away from home for a year, but the others had been even longer. So, it was no surprise that they wanted to go back home as fast as possible. He was certain that his mother did a good job looking after his territory, but it must have a limit of what she could do without Aion showing his face.
In the end, the Breeze of the Wind reached the Zaera kingdom in five weeks instead of six, and it was time for Aion to say goodbye to Sauros and Seris. They didn't want to deal with Vangel more than they had to, and they also had already paid for borrowing Aion's assistance.
"I hope that you will truly wait for us when you decide to use the relics," Sauros said, offering a handshake. "Putting that aside, this journey was a difficult one, but it was also fun, right? Let's hope that the next ones will be the same."
"That would be convenient," Aion said while accepting the handshake.
Both of them showed a smile of agreement, and then Seris stepped forward to say something. She had been acting a bit weird lately, but it wasn't her normal weirdness. She looked lost in thought for some reason.
"... Aion, what are you going to do now?" Seris asked after hesitating for a while.
"Work on my territory and check how the relics will affect those that know about me," Aion replied. "After that, I will continue working on my goal of creating a place that won't discriminate against my mother, and then I will work on easing her worries about me finding someone to marry. I am not picky, so that shouldn't be difficult."
Aion wondered If he should have been that honest… it seemed a weird thing to say when they were saying goodbye to each other. Still, he felt that those two deserved that much sincerity.
"Er… I wish you good luck with that," Seris said and forced a smile.
Sauros sighed, and Aion wondered what the point of all that was. It couldn't be that Seris still was thinking about the thing that she once proposed. To be honest, that was a difficult topic for Aion since his senses had been dulled when it came to love after becoming a kid again. He wondered what he should say about that… or if he should say anything at all. Still, he made up his mind, even if it caused more problems later on.
"While I won't demand much, I guess I will ask her to show me some determination," Aion rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "I have a lot of things on my plate, and while I am not bragging, I am also quite the catch. I will look for someone that is determined enough to even cut ties with important people and those close to them for the sake of the future because I am planning to do that as well."
Seris and Sauros looked confused after hearing that. Aion's words had been truly ambiguous. Still, they will have time to think about it.
"Well, adios," Aion said and then created an earth platform to fly away from the area.
Since it was noon, Aion had to fly pretty high in order to avoid being detected. It was high time to start controlling information regarding his location at all times, after all.
Since his magic improved a bit and thanks to his daily training, Aion's magic was stronger than before. He was able to fly over one hundred kilometers per hour. Thanks to that, he reached the capital in just two hours.
"I wonder if the mother is here… I don't think she would be able to endure the capital for so long," Aion thought.
Aion headed toward his father's home, and he was already starting to think about how he should avoid Zangel. The guy was in pain, and Aion didn't want to have to report to him all the time… Aion had a certain idea recently, and it was going to change the game forever, and it also was going to give him a lot of freedom, but it also would create some problems. Still, he had to think about it for a while longer.
The servants of the house and guards suddenly appeared when Aion landed in the garden. Thanks to it, he quickly learned some bad news… it looked like two of his sisters, and their husbands had been captured…
"What? When did that happen?" Aion asked without hiding his surprise.
"... One week ago, their husbands were somewhat at a high rank in the military, and since there were some problems at the Eastern border and they can use magic, they went with them to help," one of the guards explained. "They fell in an ambush and were captured."
That sounded fishy… but Aion's first thought was to wonder if the power of the relics being with him caused that. Could it have happened even though no one knew that he had them? The bandits in the East already biting the hands of those that worked with them twenty years ago was weird.
"Lord Lexus and your brothers headed to East as soon as they heard that. They should have arrived there today," The guard added.
Aion began to think… he could arrive there that very same day, and while he also wanted to rescue his sisters, he also wanted to trash those that invaded the lands of his mother's family and killed a lot of them.
Aion wanted to see his mother as soon as possible. Still, he couldn't avoid that situation… that also gave him another opportunity as well. It was also another dangerous thing that he thought… but it would come in handy.
Without wasting time, Aion went to talk to Vangel… it was annoying that even though he could, he shouldn't just head flying to the throne room.
