"To think that not even my powers would be enough to stop a human…" Celion muttered. "As expected of someone able to wield time..."
"That is because you are stupidly lazy," Fenhair added.
"I didn't notice any soul leaving that body… it felt like this was some sort of doll being controlled, but…" Arc replied while rubbing his chin thoughtfully.
Aion didn't feel either, but at least he found the body of the enemy once the ice walls began to crack. Aion didn't want to use his powers on people, but since that guy didn't have a soul, he couldn't become a death knight, so Aion decided to process the body. In the end, he got a bunch of titanium and a half a kilogram of mithril.
"What the hell is going on? Titanium and mithril?" Aion furrowed his eyebrows.
Aion never saw any titanium in that world, and mithril was supposed to be something like a fictitious metal… still, that made sense. Not a single metal that Aion knew could work that well with mana. Aion used ice magic to make that guy's speed drop since it would drop its temperature, and that worked even better because his body was heating at all… probably because the mana was using the mithril to work more efficiently and without detriments.
"Did you know about this, grandpa, grandma?" Aion asked.
"I never heard of those names. How do you know they are called like that?" Arc asked.
"It might be some types of metals that were created through magic in the past, but the technology was lost," Annalee added. "Although, I find it hard to believe that someone aside from our bloodline would be able to pull that off."
They have come a long way since the time they told Aion not to call him grandpa and grandma. It was good that they were improving as people even after death… in any case, Aion probably had to talk with Seris and Arlana about that. Still, before that, he had a lot of work to do in that nation… he worked faster, but the metallic man problably infected more than a few thousand of people.
Aion thought that he was getting used to traveling around. Still, it seemed that he only got used to the convenient speeds… he felt really bored while flying back while his earth chamber was being pulled by the draconic wanderer.
He talked with his grandparents, Fenhair, Celion, and several other souls during that time. Still, they didn't know anything about a parasite that could invade people's spines and control them. It didn't seem like he had many other options…
When Aion returned to that nation, it was already the middle of the night, and the people still were still standing, waiting for him to approach and attack. Aion bit his lips in exasperation… he felt earlier around six locations that had people in that situation, three villages, two towns, and one large city. More than a few thousand people had to be killed because of that… Aion couldn't risk those parasites spreading, and he couldn't wait and study them since people were bound to check those cities.
"... Kill them all and put all the bodies in a single spot," Aion said after he summoned his death knights.
There was no point in trying to avoid that, so Aion just started what he had to do. Once the killing began to start, he started to feel the souls of the people around moving. When Aion tried to push them with his mana, it worked… the matter of compatibility was starting to become useless as he got stronger.
"Grandpa, I will be counting on you to inform them of the situation," Aion said. "Helping them is impossible, but at least they can pass away in peace once they see that guy dying by my hands."
"All right… Do you think that he will come and do the same again? Perhaps somewhere far beyond your territory?" Arc asked.
"It is hard to say… they don't have the relics that I have, so they must need a lot of mana to use time magic," Aion replied.
It didn't take long for Aion to see some of his classes obtaining experience… it seemed that Arc was getting used to diplomatic work… Aion didn't want to say anything, but he couldn't avoid thinking about how weird that was, considering his past.
Once the death knights got rid of the corpses, Aion burned them to a crisp… he didn't want to take their things either, but leaving everything behind to bandits seemed like a bad idea. Still, Aion truly had better things to do with his time.
After getting rid of all the evidence in that town, Aion went to the other places… his anger only increased with every passing minute. That asshole didn't spare anyone… elderly, man, woman, kids, toddlers… It has been a while since Aion felt such anger. The last person who managed to make him feel like a blood vessel was about to explore was Horis, and he had to threaten Aion's mother in front of him to pull that off.
Aion would rather kill his enemies in order to get rid of his anger as soon as possible. Still, he couldn't say if he would be able to forget that anger just by killing that asshole.
The death knights had an easy time killing all of the infected people… while Aion won the fight, the enemy accomplished his goal of getting on his head and made it clear that he was the cause of that incident.
At that point in time, it was clear that most of his enemies didn't want to face him directly. They want to get on his head and then force him to make a mistake or fall for a trap…
