Chapter XXXVI – Day (1,671) – The Son Of Heaven Versus Hei Long! Fight!

I strode into the city. I had trained and prepared. A new warlord had arisen, greater than the rest. He called himself the Son of Heaven and claimed its Mandate. I would correct him of his foolishness. For I was Hei Long.Ñøv€l--ß1n hosted the premiere release of this chapter.

“Halt!” One of the soldiers said to me at the foot of his palace. “No one is allowed entrance.”

“I am Hei Long. I will have words with your master. Step aside or die,” I said calmly. The eight guards drew their swords or prepared to make hand signs.

“You aren’t getting-“ I stepped forward and plucked his eye from his skull for his insolence. A casual backhand shattered his jaw and broke his neck. I flicked the eye to the ground and moved. My Dragon’s Talon style cleaved through them, truly unstoppable. Their skills, weapons, and other gear was useless in the face of my might.

People were already fleeing and shouting, but that did not matter. Soon all would bow and serve me. I pushed open the doors. They were locked. I slammed my palms on them shattering the doors and knocking them off their hinges.

I entered the palace and followed my senses towards this so called Son of Heaven. There was only one person who possessed the Mandate of Heaven, and that was me. For others to lay claim was to invite their death.

Twenty guards raced out towards me from the surrounding halls, unleashing skills, summoning monsters, and attempting to stop me. They stood no chance. My hands had already reached inside of my clothing and I threw needles.

I had learned during my training I needed a ranged attack for troublesome opponents and large groups. My speed and precision were unmatched by these useless people. I easily dodged their attacks and killed the soldiers one after another. Some fled and I let them go to spread word of my greatness and mastery of Kung-fu.

The last man died. A needle lodged into the center of his forehead. I left my weapons behind. For once they were sullied, they were of no more use. Peasants pick up weapons, not Hei Long. I broke open the next set of doors and entered the throne room. It was more of a bedroom than a throne room.

“Kow-tow to your Divine Empress!” They quickly pressed their heads to the floor.

“We serve the Divine Empress,” several of them said and I nodded.

“Summon all soldiers to attend me outside this palace. Kill anyone who refuses. Return in an hour, go!” I said and waved my arm. They quickly scurried away. I made my way through the palace killing every servant I found.

I would hire and find new people. I would not risk traitors. This city and then the world would be mine. There would be no mercy or forgiveness to those who bowed their head to others. My suspicions were only confirmed as I found several servants trying to steal various items.

They were killed off without a moment of hesitation. I soon returned to outside the palace. Several guards were there. Some bowed, other kow-towed, while others just looked at me.

“The ones who kow-towed, clearly know their place in relation to me. Clean the mess inside the palace. The ones who bowed, kill the rest or I will kill you,” I said. There was shouting and some useless attacks against me, but people obeyed, and people died.

Once that was done, I looked at the fearful populace who were quickly kow-towing or running away. “I am the Divine Empress. Serve me without question and complaint and you shall live. Think no thoughts of your own. Have no desires but mine.”

“Those who wish to improve their station, may rise and step forward. For I need capable and trustworthy servants. But know this. I shall repay kindness tenfold and revenge a thousand-fold. My might and Kung-fu stand unmatched.”

I smiled slightly as people organized themselves. This was just the start of my Empire. Soon it would spread everywhere, and I would rise up to the Heavens themselves. For I had its Mandate, that piece of divinity, empowering me.
