King, Stop This Madness [Part 1]

“HAAHHAHAHAHAA! SO FUN! THIS IS SO FUN!”

While laughing, the king swiftly slashed down the flock of monsters coming his way.

“Y-Your Majesty! Please wait! That monster’s skin is hard and cannot be cut—”

*slash!*

“AHA♡ HAAHAHHAHAA♡”

Ignoring the Monster Science teacher Wolfgang’s attempt to stop him, the king slipped under the belly of the last monster and stabbed the hard skin with brute force.

The knights and Skyte hunters who were supposed to protect the king weren’t given any chance to play their role and could only stand stock-still.

The king had been advised so many times before entering the forest that even if he spotted a monster, he shouldn’t act on his own and follow the instructions of the people familiar with hunting. However, the king, with his needlessly trained body, ended up as the one who reacted the fastest to the monsters’ surprise attacks.

The menfolk of the Stuart family were currently away from the group as they went first to secure a safe path after receiving signs from the hounds.

Who would have predicted that a flock of monsters would appear as if they had been aiming for the time the group separated?

Furthermore, those monsters obviously targeted their side and attacked in groups.

Before the Monster Science teacher could start identifying the monsters and before the hunters and knight guards could move to protect the king, the king acted faster than any of them and dashed toward the monsters.

Those who understood how to hunt monsters would first focus on grasping the number and species of the monsters that appeared. On the other hand, many among the knights only saw monsters for the first time that day, and it couldn’t be helped that some faltered from the grotesque appearance.

Exploiting the gap in the inattentiveness of those two sides, the king broke into a run and swung his sword down on the monsters while shouting, “WOO HOO!”

“But, well, no worries, right? The monster you said couldn’t be cut earlier ended up the same as the rest anyways!”

The king shook the blood off his blood-stained sword and checked if there were any nicks on it. He heard the teacher’s warning loud and clear about the monster’s hard skin. However, while thinking ‘I was right to shift my aim from the head and go under the belly after a split-second judgment... ‘ or something along these lines, the king had a refreshed smile on his face without looking timid or ashamed.

Around them laid the carcasses of more than a dozen monsters. The king took care of all of them on his own before the hunters and knights could catch up to him. He didn’t entrust government affairs to Queen Victoria and devoted himself to swordsmanship training daily for nothing.
