Chapter 203: 203:Operation Phantom IV

Name:The Tycoon's Odyssey Author:

As the Hawk team proceeded to advance through the tunnel, they encountered a series of desperate ambush attempts. Despite being vastly outnumbered, the soldiers loyal to Indra tried to fight back with whatever means they had left at hand.

Using her advanced surveillance capabilities, Aurora provided real-time instructions to the Hawk team, guiding them through the treacherous passage. Her eyes scanned every corner, detecting any traps and threats with pinpoint accuracy.

Despite her guidance, a few members of the team fell victim to the base's desperate defenses. They launched themselves into suicidal missions, trying to inflict as much damage as possible before meeting their inevitable end.

The corridor became a battleground, the air echoing with the sounds of gunfire and explosions. The Hawk team moved through the base cautiously, their advanced gear absorbing the impact of the blasts and their skills allowing them to navigate through the perilous environment.

As they pressed on, they managed to subdue the remaining defenders with relative ease. The injuries they sustained were mostly internal, and manageable for the time being.

As the team ventured further deeper into the base, Mac suddenly halted and frowned while his nose twitched as the intense scent of blood hit him. He raised his hand, signaling the team to stop.

"Hold up," Mac commanded, his voice low and serious. The team, sense and uncertain, scanned their surroundings as Mac took charge and assessed the area. After carefully observing the surroundings, he realized that the passageway had taken on a more ominous tone, the faint light casting long, distorted shadows.

As they proceeded cautiously, Mac's eyes narrowed as his sharp gaze caught sight of heaps of dead bodies scattered along the passage. The scene was a grim spectacle of corpses lying in various states of disarray, their bodies marred by violent and brutal wounds.

Mac didn't take any chances.

"Open fire!" he ordered abruptly.

The corridor was momentarily illuminated by the intense bursts of gunfire as bullets tore through the bodies of the fallen soldiers.

The echo of the shots reverberated off the walls, followed by the staccato of gunfire punctuated by the sounds of ricocheting bullets. The Hawk team made sure that none of the bodies were left untouched, ensuring the safety of their team in the dimly lit corridor.

"Roger that!" Mac replied, his voice firm.

As Mac ended the communication, his face darkened.

Looking down, a brief pang of guilt hit him at the sight of countless bodies scattered across the floor. These bodies scattered around him were a stark reminder of the price their mission had already cost. But Mac's moment of sorrow was short-lived.

He knew the nature of their enemy all too well.

General Arjun was a man who wielded power with ruthless efficiency, using every means at his disposal to maintain control. Though the base might be operated in the name of the government, it was clear that Arjun held the real authority.

To him, the personnel in this facility were nothing more than expendable resources. The realization only hardened Mac's resolve. The people who had died were merely pawns of Arjun's and their lives were discarded without a second thought.

"Alright, let's move," Mac commanded, shaking off the sense of futility that threatened to overwhelm him. His voice was sharp as he addressed his team. "We have a job to finish, and we're not letting that bastard get away with this."

The Hawk team pressed on through the dark, foreboding passage, each step deliberate and conscious.

The eerie silence of the corridor was occasionally broken by the soft rustle of their gear and the distant sound of their breathing. The oppressive darkness seemed to press in on them, heightening their senses and sharpening their focus.

They advanced slowly, each member of the team carefully scanning the shadows for any signs of danger. The tense atmosphere of the base was a stark contrast to the cold, calculated precision of their mission. Every creak of the tunnel, every distant echo, was magnified in the dense silence.

Just then, the lights began to flicker...

"AHhh!"

And a scream erupted from behind, startling them.
