Chapter 70 - Secrets

"You are missing her?" Alex felt his wife's unrest. He could clearly see it in her eyes and it really made him feel bad for her. He was helpless, there was nothing he could do about it. A piece of her died the day her sister or her best friend died.

"I do. I do miss her so much. Alex, why God is so cruel? If I am lost without her, then I couldn't imagine how brother yichen spent years without her? And my Zhenyi doesn't even remember her mother. Did she deserve it? A little girl is shouldered with the responsibilities of a kingdom." She hitched in a breath as she sobbed." And my Ryuu, he is alone. He had no one to take care of him. Do you know other than Xin Yichen, he suffered the most from the loss of his mother? He was always glued to her, his food, his clothes everything had to be prepared by her. Imagine a little boy taking care of his broken father and lost sister?"

"Shhhh. I am with you juju." Alex brought her close to his chest as he caressed her back. He let her cry for what she had lost. Sometimes, one needs a good cry to move on. And his wife had bottled her plight for years.

"Will Zhenyi hate me when she comes to know the truth?" Ming Jia asked as she looked into his eyes. The thought of Zhenyi hating her was like a knife piercing her heart.

"It was not your fault. I was the only way out."Alex tried to make her understand. He had been trying for years now but she couldn't help blaming herself. He still remembered the dreadful full like yesterday.

"She lost something very precious because of my selfishness. And I'm being selfish again by hiding the facts."

"Do you know what your sister used to say ' my dear friends facts are more threatening than lies? It holds the power to shatter down the life one has built. Some facts are meant to be buried as a secret." I never understood her words until her death. Juju, you love Zhenyi like a mother. And remember, that was the only way out. If not, then why do you think Xin Yichen has supported you?"

"And if she lost the most precious thing of her life. She is gaining something too." Alex sighed out loud. "This wedding is a blessing in disguise for her."

"Alex, I have no idea what's her motive behind the marriage." Ming Jia was aware of Zhenyi's war vigilance against the wedding. The main question was-- what changed her mind? And why she went to China?

"Why are you thinking so much? She agreed to the marriage because of Elder Xin. You know how much she loves her grandfather." Alex was oblivious of the dilemma his wife was in.

"Alex, she's Zhenyi and I have seen her growing right in front of my eyes. I can see through her. What if she's planning something? I can't lose her please, Alex. Why don't you talk to Ryuu?" No matter how many times Wang Jia attempted to calm the storm rearing in her heart she couldn't. To say Zhenyi was unpredictable would be an understatement.

"Don't overthink, Juju. Ryuu has his Empire to run. Do you think Elder Xin will let Ryuu off the hook?" Wang Jia frowned as if to decode what her husband was saying.

"Patience my dear wife. We have many more weddings to attend. " Alex patted his confused wife's head.

" I don't know what you're talking about?" Wang Jia simply mumbled.

"You don't need to worry about it. Just worry about our daughter. "

"Last time -- I don't have any daughter. Especially the one who left me for a boy."

Sigh! why his wife was so darn difficult?
