Location: The Tang Palace.
Esma was grinning ear to ear as she looked at the incoming figure of Lord Tang. She had many reasons to be happy today, but the biggest one was that she was getting free today. Finally, after months of going through hell, she would be leaving this haunted and dreadful place.
This, her delight knew no bounds today.
"Seems like my staff didn't treat you well during your stay at my house," Lord Tang commented as he watched the overjoyed expression on the brat's face.
He was adorned in his dark signature three-piece suit, looking like every fiber of his regal personality which he truly was. Though he was talking in a gentle voice, the authority beneath it couldn't be hidden from the bystanders.
"Ah, which prisoner won't be happy to leave the prison? Especially one such as your haunted castle!" Esma raised her brow and raised the question very innocently. However, she was anything but innocent.
Lord Tang ignored her sharp jibes as if he didn't hear it in the first place but behind him, the cold Feng Siyan was boiling as if someone had set him on fire.
'How dare she call his master's house a haunted prison?' He was ready to pounce on her and skin her alive but stopped himself when he saw his master's indifferent expressions.
"Esma, you know why you're leaving the 'prison'. " Lord Tang stressed on the word prison in a mocking tone. He sat on the majestic sofa in a king-like pose and settled his eyes on her figure before continuing," Ah-Jie may trust you but I am not him, my eyes are always on you no matter where you go."
The threat in his voice was clear, 'screw this chance up and you will be dragged back here again.'
"Why are you so interested in my life all of a sudden, Lord Tang?" Esma whispered his name in a very seductive voice but he was unfazed as usual.
"Why would I be interested in the life of a miserable being, hmm?" Lord Tang propped his hand under his chin and asked her in a bored manner. "Of all the people, why would I be interested in your life when both of us know you don't have many days left with you to enjoy it?"
Wasn't Esma really miserable? They say those who seek pleasure in others' misery are the most miserable of all. And Esma was no different. She didn't know what happiness and real joy felt like or meant.
"Ah, for a second I forget your wicked tongue is still intact," Esma said, rolling her eyes but inwardly she was cursing him and his next seven generations for casting a jinx on her perfect life.
Of course, she had a very perfect life that involved pleasure, pleasure, and pleasure.
It didn't matter where she sought that pleasure from.
Esma twirled her long black tendrils around her finger and looked at him with those raven-loaded eyes. "I'm not dying, Lord Tang. They all are." She stopped all of a sudden and cast a dirty look at Feng Siyan who was standing behind Lord Tang in a stiff posture. "They all will die at my hands. " She saw Lord Tang was looking at her as if she was boring him with all her talks. Rage burned inside her chest. "You don't believe me? Don't worry, I will send you their body organs as a souvenir. "
Behind Feng Siyan two hidden cartoons: "Who the hell sends chopped body organs as souvenirs?"
God up in the sky: "_"
"We will see," Lord Tang replied to her curtly.
He was not interested in making these small talks. He didn't want to talk to Esma and neither was she a big fan of his. If one thing Lord Tang knew about her, it was her unwavering hatred for him. It was as if her special slot of hatred was separately and very specifically reserved for him.
But for Long Jie's sake, he wanted to show her the direction towards the new life which was waiting for her far from the cruel and violent life she had been leading till now. He wanted to tell her to give a new meaning to her life apart from hatred and revenge.
Her hatred and desire for revenge were killing her inside every day. Revenge is like drinking rat poison and then waiting for the rat to die. She was trying to be their executioner when her thirst for revenge was becoming her own extinction.
"You still don't believe me?" Esma shrieked. He was too familiar with her abrupt change in personalities. And he was not surprised to see her behaving like a madwoman right now either. "Are you looking down on me? Do you think I am not capable enough of killing them?"
Esma was on the edge these days. She had been so lost in her own woven utopia that she was failing to see the real world. She was forgetting the simple fact that she learned years ago at the cost of her life. How could she forget that the world didn't run on the flick of your finger? Kismet is a big badass bitch!
She needed to open her eyes and watch that she was doing nothing burning herself in the pyre of hatred and vengeance. Eye for an eye has made the whole world blind and she needed to get this little fact in her too pretty head but unfortunately, she had closed her eyes to it.
But she didn't need to worry about it. Lord Tang was here to make her understand this.
