The Next morning at Xin Mansion.
"Zhenyi?"
Xin Yichen found Zhenyi watering the plants in the garden, a smile blossomed on her face. He was naturally happy to see his daughter smiling more often these days. However, he was not very happy to see her soiling herself with mud.
In short, she shouldn't do this dirty work. After all, she was his precious daughter.
"Bà, look at how beautiful this plant looks!" Zhenyi sing-song.
She was grinning ear to ear. It was as if she had accomplished something great by planting this plant.
Xin Yichen saw that Zhenyi had planted a new flower plant with the help of the gardener. But he still couldn't understand why she had to do this by herself!
"Why are you soiling your clothes, Zhenyi? You could have just asked the gardener to plant it instead of doing it by yourself," said Xin Yichen with a frown.
Honestly, he wanted to scold her but didn't have the heart to do so.
"This beautiful Camellia plant was sent by my husband this morning," said Zhenyi with a huge smile. Two of her dimples on exhibition. "How could I let someone else touch it when it belongs to me?"
Zhenyi put forward the question, lifting her brows.
Xin Yichen was rendered speechless at his daughter's possessiveness. It was just a flower plant not her husband that she was so possessive about!
Imagine someone coveting her husband…
Simple...next morning, that someone's corpse would be found floating in the river outside her mansion.
"Very well," uttered Xin Yichen. " By the way, why did Long Jie send you the flower plant? I have heard and seen people sending their wives flowers, not the plants."
Zhenyi pouted, what was wrong with sending flower plants? Her father must see the logic behind it.
"Bà, why don't you see his pure intentions behind sending the flower plant?" Zhenyi glanced at him hopefully, as he narrowed his eyes at his daughter who he had spoiled rotten. "Once he said that flowers wither and die with time and so he sent the flower plant instead. It won't wither but blossom further with my care. So, isn't it thoughtful?"
'This way we both will remember each other...' But didn't add further.
With narrowed eyes, Xin Yichen knocked her head. "Where is my daughter and what have you done to her?"
"Stop being dramatic, Bà." Zhenyi couldn't help but sulk.
Xin Yichen shrugged his shoulders. "Whatever!"
He glanced at the flowers again and sighed. " Kiddo, do you think you can keep these flowers alive?"
Zhenyi stared at the flowers again and smiled a sad smile. "Maybe, if I try." She turned her gaze to her father and said," How would I know if I can keep them alive or not, Bà, if I don't even dare to try?"
The flower plant that Long Jie sent didn't grow in their country at this time of the year. And from the looks of the plant, it seemed like it had been taken out of the soil from the place where the climate and land are suitable for its growth and was in stages of blooming. The buds have yet to bloom, and it still was not sure if it would bloom or not, given the absence of a special kind of climate, it required.
What was the benefit of all of her wealth if she couldn't keep the plant given by her beloved husband alive?
Little did Xin Yichen know that his daughter would move heaven and hell to keep this single plant alive.
"When will your husband be back?" Xin Yichen asked.
Xin Yichen was aware of the fact that Long Jie's job required him to be busy often, and for the last two months, he had been by Zhenyi's side day and night. It was finally the time he went back to his work.
Zhenui shrugged, trying to be nonchalant, but the heartache in his eyes was visible. "Who knows! He said it may take him more than a week."
To be honest, she was lying. She didn't know when he would be back, but she was willing to wait for him.
"Have Ryuu contacted you recently?" Xin Yichen asked as he remembered why he was looking for her in the first place.
Zhenyi frowned and glanced at her father. "No. He hadn't since Master Yuzhang appeared."
Xin Yichen heaved out a long-suffering sigh. He folded his arms behind his back and stared blankly.
"He has sent a message. Well, to be exact, his assistant contacted us, and informed us that we should proceed with the matter relating to the Ming family."
Zhenyi froze. She blinked her eyes.
"What does it mean?" She managed to utter out. In her heart, she knew quite well what it meant.
Xin Yichen sighed. "It meant your brother agreed to marry Ming Xiuying and had informed us to settle the negotiation."
"For the love of God, Bà, it's the marriage of my brother. Not some business deal we have to negotiate," Zhenyi told her father. "Just what's going on in his head?"
If Xin Yichen could know what actually ran in his son's head, wouldn't he have conquered the world already?
"If you want to know what goes on in your brother's head, you will have to ask him," Xin Yichen gave a simple reply. "And as for agreeing to marry Ming Xiuying, your brother has a track record of doing what nobody has fathomed in their wildest dreams. So, my dear daughter, stop running your brains behind what Ryuu wants to accomplish by doing this because you won't be able to know and if you could know, he won't be the great Ryuu! "
Zhenyi pressed her lips in a thin line as she knew how right her father was.
