Xia Tian was in shock at such a coincidence. There were two women inside cabin 888. One was his own aunt, Ye Wanqing, and the other one was none other than the Nike policewoman. This was his fourth encounter with her since midnight.
“Do you two know each other?” Ye Wanqing looked at Xia Tian suspiciously.
Xia Tian nodded. “We’ve met a few times.”
“Then that makes things easier. I need the two of you to team up to get something done.” Ye Wanqing nodded satisfactorily. Earlier, she was worried that these two would not be able to cooperate at all.
“Cooperate? With him?” The Nike girl looked at Xia Tian in disgust.
“That’s right. Your objective is to locate the hideout of the Quicksand Tier-three Assassin, Shadow’s, and report back to me. You’ll be eligible to enter Hua Xia’s Special Forces once you’ve completed the mission.” Ye Wanqing looked at the Nike girl. “Make good use of this opportunity. Your uncle got on his knees for it.”
“What use would it be to team up with him?” Looking at Xia Tian, the Nike girl did not understand how someone like him could help her.
“With your current experience, you would be without a doubt finding a needle in a haystack with just the person’s name and information. However, your chances would be higher if he’s here to assist you,” Ye Wanqing explained.
“Is he a member of the special forces?” Nike girl asked.
“No. Keep in mind the rules governing the special forces; do not question matters of no relation to yourself,” Ye Wanqing said coldly.
Nike girl nodded. She knew that there were many rules to be followed in this line of work. Although these rules could be very restrictive, it was her dream to enter the mysterious Dragon Organization. The only way to enter this organization was to be in the special forces.
“Xia Tian, Lin Bingbing, this is the person. He’s going to make a major move in Jianghai City soon and you’ve to find him before he takes action.” Ye Wanqing handed over a file to Xia Tian.
Xia Tian did not rush to open the document. Instead, he looked at his aunt in confusion.
“Haven’t you always wanted to know your father’s past? Just follow the instructions.” Ye Wanqing knew what Xia Tian was thinking but did not explain further.
Xia Tian nodded. He would do anything as long as it was related to his father.
“I’ve to make a move now. You two should discuss this with each other and come up with a plan. Contact me once you have news.” Ye Wanqing turned around and left the cabin as she finished speaking, leaving Xia Tian and the Nike policewoman, Lin Bingbing behind.
Xia Tian opened the document in his hand.
Shadow: Male;
Age: Unknown;
Height: Unknown;
Weight: Unknown;
Identity: Quicksand Tier-three Assassin;
Crime: Assassinated eleven rich merchants, three high ranking officers, one director of the public security department.
Recent location: Jianghai City, Bar Street.
One had to admit that the document was as simple as it could get. Fortunately, there was a blurry picture attached to it. Although it was blurry, Xia Tian’s amazing eyesight was still able to discern the target’s key characteristics.
“What should we do?” the Nike policewoman Lin Bingbing looked at Xia Tian. Although she did not know the reason why she was asking him, she trusted Ye Wanqing. After all, she was a member of the Dragon Organization.
Although Lin Bingbing did not like Xia Tian, she had no choice but to cooperate with him in order to enter the special forces.
However, she merely wanted to listen to his opinion. At the end of the day, Xia Tian was not a member of the special forces. Perhaps he was on probation just like her.
“Let’s have a meal first. I’ve something to attend to after that. Let’s meet at Bar Street around eight tonight.” Xia Tian gave his number to Lin Bingbing before he ordered the waiters to serve the dishes.
Xia Tian and Lin Bingbing were the only two people inside the huge cabin. She felt extremely awkward as she kept looking at Xia Tian gulping down the food. Since she did not have any appetite, she bid farewell to him after sitting for a while, leaving the latter alone to eat everything inside the cabin.
Since his aunt had paid for the food, it would be a waste for him to not finish it. Xia Tian jogged to his old place after the meal. These days, he rarely took any transportation and mostly relied on his feet. Xia Tian would slow down his Unrestricted Cloud Sage Step in populated areas but it was still considered training. When no one was around, he was as fast as a predator as he squirmed through the alleys.
Yin Nie had returned when Xia Tian reached his old place. Hence, he started training on his own.
“You’re truly a one-of-a-kind martial arts genius. You’ve managed to master the Unrestricted Cloud Sage Step and Resonating Fingers to the entry-level at such a short timespan.” Yin Nie nodded in satisfaction. “If you weren’t his son, I would be very tempted to pass down my martial arts to you.”
“Thank you, master, for your praise.” Xia Tian knew that it was due to his father’s nurturing since his childhood that he was able to improve so quickly. If someone else were to learn this martial art, he might not be able to progress far even after a decade of training. The Empyrean Slumber Technique was definitely out of the question.
“Your training for today is very simple. Attack me. You’ll clear today’s training if you manage to make me move.” Yin Nie was still in his usual white attire as he held his renowned sword, Red Abyss in his right hand.
“Okay, you’ll have to be careful then, master.” Xia Tian spun his leg as soon as he finished speaking and attacked Yin Nie immediately. He reached out a finger in both hands as he pierced towards Yin Nie’s waist, yet the latter did not move an inch as the former was about to succeed.
‘Is this it?’
No. His attempt was blocked. Xia Tian did not have time to think as he attacked once more. Both his fingers kept attacking Yin Nie at incredible speed. His onslaught continued from every direction, trying to find Yin Nie’s weak spot.
However, no matter how much Xia Tian tried, Yin Nie was able to counter every attack with just his left hand.
Xia Tian had even attacked Yin Nie’s lower body and yet he was about to counter it without ever bending his waist. The flurry of attack and defense droned on, and two hours had gone by in a blink of an eye.
Xia Tian was exhausted as he lay on the ground, unable to exert an ounce of force from any part of his body. However, Yin Nie was like an immovable towering tree. His breathing was calm and was the total opposite of Xia Tian.
“That’s enough for today.” Yin Nie turned around and disappeared from Xia Tian’s sight.
“How strong was he?” Xia Tian questioned, curious about how strong his father was back in the day. It was already incredible for Xia Tian to have managed to master a few martial arts to the entry-level. However, he was like a three-year-old challenging Yao Ming 1 when he faced off against Yin Nie.
Xia Tian felt that he did not have the energy to even stand up. Then, he felt something leaking out from his Dantian and his stamina soon started recovering. After ten minutes, Xia Tian had regained all his strength and he could also feel that his strength had been increased once again.
“It must be that Ancient Buddha’s Sarira. Looks like I’ve really picked up a gem.” Xia Tian was excited as his body became stronger after exhausting all of his strength.
“Perhaps there’s a shortcut in the training?” Xia Tian started training again without any hesitation as he pondered. Although Yin Nie had already left, he imagined Yin Nie standing in front of him and started training again.
He kept on training and soon, Xia Tian fell to the ground once more.
It was as he had expected. The Ancient Buddha’s Sarira at his Dantian helped him recover his stamina and increased his strength again. Xia Tian was over the moon when he confirmed this.
‘You’re mine, the apple of my eye.’
“Is this big brother Xia Tian?”
“Hey, it’s the nurse, isn’t it?” Xia Tian smiled gently.
“How did you know it was me?”
“Who else would have such a beautiful voice?” Xia Tian praised.
“You really know how to make people happy. Where are you now? You promised to have dinner with me tonight.”
“Alright, you pick the place and I’ll meet you there.” Xia Tian hung up as he searched for a set of clean clothes in the house. Fortunately, he had just gotten back a few sets from his cousin sister.
Xia Tian’s current attire was filled with sweat and dirt. After taking his clothes, he went to the mountain at the back of his house. It was a mountain that had never been explored and it was completely covered with trees. However, Xia Tian was not there to sightsee. He was there to take a shower.
There was a small pond two kilometers away from the house. The pond was around ten meters wide and twenty meters long.
Although it was a small pond, it was incredibly deep. Xia Tian had never reached the bottom of the pond before because the pressure at the bottom was incredibly high. In fact, he could not dive at all.
There were very few places that were still undeveloped in Jianghai City. The reason why Xia Tian’s old place was as such was that there were many factories nearby. It would be incredibly difficult to develop an industrial region as the pollution was terrible. Hence, the location was passed up as a tourist site.
The forest had shrunk over the past few years, undoubtedly because of the pollution.
Xia Tian believed that he would never be able to see the pond again in a few years.
The pond was crystal clear and Xia Tian took a quick simple shower within. Ever since his body had been modified by the necklace, he was able to clean himself off with just one wash.
The necklace by his neck had stopped shining as he had used up all of its aurae to modify his body.
Xia Tian changed into clean clothes after the shower and rushed towards the hotpot restaurant the nurse told him about. The majority of girls loved eating hotpot, but Xia Tian was not picky. After all, his biggest perk thus far was that he was able to eat anything.
“Xia Tian, I’m over here.” The little nurse Bai Yiyi waved her hand as he entered the place. Xia Tian was stunned the instant he saw her. She was incredibly beautiful. He had never noticed this in the past because she had hidden her beauty away on purpose. On top of that, the nurse attire had completely covered her perfect body.
