Chapter 26

Her microblog post had rushed to the top of the hot search list in just fifteen minutes.

Li Yao was dumbfounded while Qin Wei smiled awkwardly.

Li Yao's mind went blank for a moment before he finally asked:

"Wasn't it agreed to announce it after the show aired?"

Qin Wei didn't dare look at him, her voice as tiny as a mosquito's:

"Well... I couldn't help it since the money would be in hand soon..."

"......"

"......"

Li Yao scrambled up from the floor, grabbing her phone as he said:

"Stay right here and don't move. I'm going to find PR to resolve this!"

...

On set.

"I was wrong, it was all my fault. Please give me one more chance, I swear I'll love you properly this time!"

The man in a suit ran out of the hotel, and was soon drenched as it was raining outside.

The woman standing in the rain turned back, unable to distinguish the raindrops from her tears on her face:

"It's impossible now. My heart died the day you said we were breaking up..."

"Cut!"

The assistant ran over with a towel:

"Great job, Kai!"

Shen Kai lightly murmured in acknowledgement and casually threw his suit jacket to the assistant. He took the towel and wiped his face dry. His white shirt was also soaked, clinging tightly to his muscular arms.

After changing into clean clothes in his private dressing room, he picked up his phone to casually scroll through today's trending news while waiting for the next scene to start shooting.

The top item on the hot search trends caught his attention -

#Qin Wei Quitting Showbiz#

Other than filming, a rare look of surprise appeared on Shen Kai's face.

Hadn't this woman said she would never quit showbiz no matter what?

He had intended to avoid any news related to her, but couldn't help his curiosity and clicked in -

【Qin Wei_Vivian: It's time to announce this decision. I plan to retire from showbiz. Thank you everyone for your support and love over the years!】

Li Yao pushed his glasses up:

"It's the first domestic reality show of celebrities traveling abroad. Other similar shows only travel domestically, so ours is more challenging... Didn't I mention it to you before?"

"Did you?" Qin Wei racked her brains but had zero recollection. "Nevermind, unimportant. When does filming start for the show?"

"I came back to get your passport, will go apply for visas tomorrow. It depends on everyone's schedule, at most half a month, at least one week. You'll need to cooperate and shoot some publicity photos in between, I'll notify you when it's time."

Qin Wei looked troubled:

"Then I'll have to keep staying here? What about the rent?"

Li Yao turned to look at her:

"Don't worry about that. The pay for this show is enough to cover rent. Give it one more shot, I feel we can turn things around. Don't retire yet, reconsider it."

Qin Wei waved her hand at him:

"Focus on the present first. I'll get through this show, then we'll talk. Also, send me all the show details. I don't want to be tricked by the team like last time..."

...

"Teacher Qin, look at the camera... Very good!"

In the photography studio, Qin Wei finished shooting the last picture. The photographer walked over with his camera:

"Take a look, which ones should we use?"

Qin Wei smiled and nodded at him:

"I'll leave it to you, I trust your taste."

The compliment pleased the photographer. He patted his chest and said to Qin Wei:

"Then I won't let you down. I'll edit this batch myself, don't worry!" He saw Qin Wei was free and asked, "Do you have time later? Let's go eat with the rest of the crew."

Qin Wei didn't seem as hard to work with as rumored!

"Lil bro, done shooting?"

Li Yao walked over, holding a tablet filled with back-to-back schedules.

"Can't delay too long, more work ahead!"

He signalled Qin Wei with his eyes. Qin Wei immediately understood and turned to tell the photographer:

"Sorry, can't push work aside. Next time!"

Sitting in the car, Qin Wei finally relaxed. Thankfully Li Yao helped avoid unnecessary socializing.

"Let's go home. I want to nap."

Li Yao started driving and glanced at the rearview mirror:

"I said we still have work coming up."
