Ch. 40 The Wok
Han Xingye looked arrogant and indifferent on the surface, as if he didn’t care about anything, but in fact he was very angry.
When they gathered at the lecture point at noon, Han Xingye caught Xie Jingxian’s eyes from a distance. At that moment, he did not miss the coldness and indifference that flashed across Xie Jingxian’s eyes.
Han Xingye was sure that Xie Jingxian knew his identity and was watching him silently, just like him.
But Han Xingye didn’t expect that after that glance, Xie Jingxian completely regarded him as a transparent person, and his attention was on the boy named Jiang Juan from beginning to end, and he never gave himself another look.
He refused to admit it to the outside world, no matter how stubborn he was. Han Xingye knew clearly in his heart that he was very concerned about the existence of Xie Jingxian, especially after learning from his mother that his father, Han Shuo, wanted to take Xie Jingxian back to the Han family. He hated Xie Jingxian even more.
He hates this mother and son pair for destroying his parents’ feelings and making his home what it is now. Now Xie Jingxian is still delusional about going back to the Han family and taking away what originally belonged to him!
Han Xingye loved the money, power and status that he currently had, and felt that Xie Jingxian must be the same as him. After all, he has been very happy since he was born, and had never encountered any setbacks as he grew up.
But Xie Jingxian is different. Xie Jingxian’s entire life is like a big tragedy. In just seventeen years, he sent away his biological mother, adoptive parents, grandfather, with none of his relative remaining alive.
Han Xingye thought, Xie Jingxian’s relatives are all dead, and he is the only one left to live alone. Life must have been very hard for him. Now that Han Shuo who was so wealthy, suddenly appeared, who would refuse such a offer?
No one can refuse!
Thinking that Xie Jingxian would step into the door of the Han family one day in the future, Han Xingye wanted to kill someone. If Xie Jingxian was allowed to enter the house, it would not only be his mother who would go crazy, but he would also be unable to raise his head among his friends in the future.
He would never allow this to happen.
Han Xingye looked at Xie Jingxian’s back, as he gritted his teeth in hatred. He didn’t believe that Xie Jingxian was really as calm as he appeared.
But at the same time, he also had another layer of worries in his heart. If Xie Jingxian’s calmness was a disguise, tgen how terrifying was the real person behind that mask?
Realizing that he was actually taking Xie Jingxian so seriously, Han Xingye’s face became even more gloomy. He noticed the staff in front that was pulling the table, and his eyes suddenly lit up.
Han Xingye glanced at the teacher who was preparing the question in front of him, and then at Xie Jingxian, as his lips could not help forming a happy arc.
He has received high-level education since he was a child. Xie Jingxian, a child who grew up in an ordinary family, he is afraid that he has never even participated in an event like this before. How can he compare with him?
Today, he wants to make Xie Jingxian feel the gap between the two of them. Let him know that he could never catch up with him in his entire life.
He wanted to stop Xie Jingxian from going back to the Han family to fight with him.
Han Xingye’s sinister expression did not escape Jiang Juan’s eyes at all. He shook his head gently, muttering in his heart how pitiful.
You will be slapped in the face later, so don’t end up crying.
In order to increase the enthusiasm of the students to answer the questions, the teachers prepared a quick-responder, and each group had one. When the question was broadcasted, the team that pressed the quick-responder first will get to answer the question first.
If you answer correctly, points will be added, and if you answer incorrectly, points will be deducted. Such a rule can prevent students from pressing the responder indiscriminately.
Not only were the teachers busy, but also the students, who spontaneously formed a team to discuss. All the top students of the school had gathered here today. It was not difficult for them to get the answer for the question together, because of which their discussions were in full swing.
The style of Jiang Juan and Xie Jingxian’s team is completely different from the others. In addition to the five boys in their tent, Jiang Juan’s ten-person team added five more people, all of whom were classmates from the same class, were familiar with each other and had similar temperaments.
They did not discuss the topic, but instead discussed what ingredients and cooking tools to choose when entering the tent after a while.
Xiao Yang was the first to speak, “I still want to eat the roast lamb chops at noon. When I go in later, remember to get the lamb chops, pepper and cumin.”
A boy said, “I want to eat the twice-cooked pork.”
Another person said, “I want to eat a leek box. Last time Xiaoli brought it back from the snack street. It was so delicious. I ate three in one go.”
Another girl raised her hand and said, “I want fruit and yogurt.”
…
The people in Jiang Juan’s group excitedly reported the names of various delicacies, as if they were really going to be the first to go in and choose the reward. In the end, they don’t know who said it, that even if they took the food, no one knew how to make it, and even if it was made, the taste would be very strange, so they finally stopped discussing.
One second everyone was beaming with joy, and the next second they were downcast. Looking at them, Jiang Juan was speechless.
He glanced at Xie Jingxian who was standing quietly beside him, nudged his arm lightly against his, and asked, “Xie Jingxian, what do you want to eat?”
Xie Jingxian looked at Jiang Juan. He did not answer the question, but instead asked, “How about you? What would you like to eat at night?”
Jiang Juan originally saw that Xie Jingxian was just standing by and not speaking anything, so he was afraid that he would feel bored and pulled him to say a few words. The answer to the question was not important to him, so after listening to Xie Jingxian’s question, he thought about it. After thinking for a while, he said, “The food at noon was too greasy. I want to eat something vegetarian. It will be good if I could eat stir-fry green vegetables with mushrooms.”
Xie Jingxian nodded and said, “Okay.”
Jiang Juan said, “Huh?” What does he mean? Before he could ask clearly, he heard Wang Tuo next to him saying, “If you want to cook, you need a wok. I just took a look, there seems to be a wok in the tent. I think many people are eyeing it, if we want it, we can only be the first ones to go in, otherwise it will definitely be picked up by someone else if we are late.”
These students are not good at cooking, or have no cooking skills at all. In their eyes the most useful thing is the wok.
The wok can not only stir-fry vegetables, boil soup, but also stew meat. As for others, such as rice cookers, ovens, casseroles, and electric baking pans, they probably don’t even know how to use them at all.
Hearing Wang Tuo’s words, Jiang Juan smiled. He patted Wang Tuo’s shoulder and motioned for him to relax. Xie Jingxian was here, so there was no need to worry about the score.
Soon, the quiz officially started.
The scene was quiet, and the students were all looking ahead seriously, waiting for the teacher to ask questions and getting ready to answer them.
The teacher had said that the topics would be the content of today’s class, but in fact, most of the questions exceeded the content of the afternoon class.
These questions were all about the accumulation and expansion of students’ daily knowledge. In general, the questions were still very difficult.
This can be seen from the fact that the students swarmed to answer at the beginning, but then frowned and hesitated to press the responder.
Jiang Juan had opened the perspective of God, so he naturally knew what questions the teacher would ask. He was still thinking if he should stand up to answer the questions, or whether it would be considered cheating, but then he found out that his worries were completely unnecessary.
Their group’s answering device was in Xiao Yang’s hands. Xiao Yang responded quickly and grabbed a lot of opportunities to answer the questions, and the people in the team were also very strong. However, as the difficulty of the question gradually increased, Xiao Yang’s speed of pressing the responder slowed down.
Points will be deducted for wrong answers. And this was not as simple as what to eat for dinner, but the reputation of Jincheng High School on was on stake.
As a member of Jincheng High School, although they always complain about Jincheng’s inhumanity, no one wants to shame the school because of their mistakes.
Just when the students of Jincheng High School were hesitating, there was a beep from Mingyang High School. Everyone turned their heads and saw a handsome boy standing up.
That boy was none other than Han Xingye.
Everyone was stunned. Han Xingye answered a few questions, and he answered them all correctly.
Han Xingye’s appearance and temperament are first-class, but when he finished answering a question, he would sweep his provocative eyes towards Jincheng, causing the students of Jincheng High School to boil with fury.
Xiao Yang moved his wrist and said, “What should I do if I suddenly want to hit someone? Hold me down, or I’ll rush up.”
As soon as he finished speaking, he felt that his palm was empty, and he turned his head to see that Xie Jingxian had taken the responder away.
Xie Jingxian held the answering device and stood up under Han Xingye’s provocative gaze.
The moment Xie Jingxian stood up, there was silence at first, followed by a loud cheer from the students of Jincheng High School.
