Chapter 27.2

“I changed my job from a cleaning lady and recently became a head chef. I was gathering food in the forest and fishing in the lake when I was attacked.”

“Cleaning lady. Head cook. Fishing in the lake. …… Well, enough of the details for now. So you’re still not Gilbert’s companion yet?”

“It’s only a matter of time. Gilbert has been guarding his purity for so long that it’s hard for him to be honest about it.

He had to deal with Aria and Yule and he also had to deal with the disputes with us up close, and on top of that, if the unscrupulous demonic women wanted only your body, you wouldn’t like it either.

Gilbert is pure and sincere.

“That’s true”.

I didn’t know much about Gilbert-sama’s past, but the words “pure and earnest” are correct. I felt happy that Ria was giving a proper evaluation.

Even if I gave him permission, he wouldn’t touch me because I’m sure he’s so earnest. I should have appreciated that, and it was wrong of me to get angry at him. I renewed my resolve to apologize for what had happened at the meal.

I was still angry at him for that, but I was still wrong.

“Lydith-san, that means that you are also still pure.”

“Ria-sama, you shouldn’t go out of your way to confirm that with a woman. I protect my virginity, but there are many powerless women who are destroyed by heartless people. Careless words. is something that hurts people without knowing it.”

“I am sorry. I just got so happy”

When I warned him, he apologized. It seemed that it was a genuine question without any malice. Many men would be offended by a reprimand from a woman of a younger age, but Ria did not seem to be bothered by it.

“I don’t know why you are happy about it” she said.

“That’s my story, so forget it. Even though you are not yet Gilbert’s, the fact that your presence was protected in the castle with that human-loving Astaroth means that Gilbert was protecting you.”

“Astaroth certainly said that he likes humans”

“In more ways than one. The fact that Gilbert is still concerned about you and has yet to touch you or force you back to your World means that he likes you very much. I was going to give you back to Gilbert if he would listen to me, but I’ve changed my mind.

Ria’s hand gripped my arm tightly. He pulled my arm and pulled me towards him forcefully.

The hem of my dress was exposed at the base of my legs, but since I was not free to move, I could not fix it.

I am not embarrassed because my legs were white, graceful, and of impeccable shape, but I think it’s a perverted situation to have my arms restrained and forcibly pulled up against him.

Even if I worked in a whorehouse, I feel like I am having an experience that is not common. There are people with all kinds of tastes in the world, and I am learning a lot from them.

“Just as Yule took my sister from me, I wanted to take something precious from Gilbert. If you became mine, Gilbert would be very hurt.”

“I know how hard it is for you to lose your sister, but Gilbert-sama is not Yule-sama.”

“When the king inherits Heinzold’s power, he also inherits his memories. Gilbert is Heinzolde-sama, Lucis, and Yule.”

“Even if he inherits the memories, he will not be replaced. You said that you and your family are very kindred spirits, and Gilbert is your sister’s child, isn’t he one of your own people that you should cherish?”

“I don’t know. I have no direct grudge against Gilbert, but it’s because of Lucis and Yule that I lost my sister and my kindred, so if I want to take revenge on the King, the fastest way is to hurt you, whom he cares about. Besides, I’m rather fond of you.”

I’m sure that’s true. I can’t help it, as it’s quite natural that he ended up being attracted to me as he kept having conversations with me, whom he planed to keep by his side as a hostage.

Ria has a great intent to avenge Aria’s death but, even if he honestly said that he just wanted me, I would not despise him because I am a kind person.

“Ria-sama, I understand your desire to have a beautiful, intelligent, thoughtful girl like me. It is a desire that anyone would have in front of me. But it will not fill your lonely heart. If you want to win my heart, you must do it in the proper order. I promised Gilbert that I would devote myself to him, and I must fulfill it.”

“You said earlier that you would keep your promises.”

“Yes, I’ve decided to do what I said once.  And then I can love Ria to the fullest.”

“Me too?  Oh, did you say the same thing to Astaroth?”

“Yes, Ria-sama, it’s all right. My kindness and affection will never run out.”

I do not have the taste to have many men as Cynthia does, but if my brother, Clive, Astaroth and Ria want to be by my side, I have the capacity to accept it.

If they love me and want to be by my side, it would not be so bad for Gilbert-sama, who has become king. I am sure they will understand.

Ria chuckled. When he laughs, his slitted eyes narrow even further, making him look even more like a snow fox.

“You are really a strong person to be able to subdue Clive and make light of Astaroth. If my sister had been as strong as you, she might not have disappeared. …… But you know what, Lydith? I’m a bad wolf.”

“It was Master Astaroth who said you are a bad wolf. I thank you for saving my life, and I consider you a kind man..”

“Betraying your feelings is nothing to me.”

Sharp canine teeth bit down on my neck and I raised my eyebrows in pain. I can feel the sharp fangs digging into my skin.

As he held me, I was unable to move and was forced to accept it, Ria pulled away once and looked down at my face.

He smirked.

“I was thinking of waiting a few days. But you kept me around and I couldn’t resist.”

“I don’t like people who behave badly.”

“It doesn’t matter. You can hate me, cry and scream.”

His lips fell to the bite marks. I can see his wolf ears, and it’s not a bad sight. Fluffy and cute.

I wondered what happened..

I thought about having a dialogue with him to open his mind, but maybe I went the extra mile.

While I was wondering what to say to persuade him, the voices of the wood nymphs from outside the room echoed in the room  “You have a visitor, Master Ria.”
