Lydis the Bride and the Vessel of the Goddess 1 (12)

I don’t think he has changed his mind that much. It’s not as if our long-held beliefs can suddenly be changed, and in fact humans don’t have the power that Ria and the rest of the demon tribe have, so perhaps we can’t blame them for thinking so..

I think it’s fine as long as they hold their emotions in check and engage in a proper dialogue, no matter what their internal feelings are. It would be good enough if they would suppress their aggressive side, even if it is only because they don’t want me to hate them.

“Lydith. What do you think about barriers?”

“I think they should be opened. The great war is in the past, and now we don’t need to fear and hate each other so much. Besides, humans don’t have magic. I think it is good to communicate with people who have powers we don’t have.”

Gilbert’s eyes were downcast in thoughts

“You are not afraid of us, but that doesn’t mean the rest of the humans are like you. If we suddenly open the barrier, there will be mayhem.”

“That’s why I’m here. Gilbert, it is love that changes the world.”

“What if the demons harm humans again?”

“Even humans fight with each other, and there are those who unintentionally hurt the weak. It may be difficult to prevent that, but I think it is important to deal with what has happened.”

People’s dissatisfaction goes beyond their control because they are dissatisfied with the politics. It is because they feel they are not protected. If those at the top take the initiative in dealing with the situation, it should not be a particularly big upheaval.

At least that’s how it was done in the Duke’s territory, and I think the people there are generally enjoying a peaceful life, despite some minor problems. This is because it is properly governed.

“The royal family of Evandia is… nothing.”

“Gilbert-sama. I have never talked about you guys with… Rafael-sama. I had never even heard of the goddess’s vessel. I was not sent by the royal family.”

I said to Gilbert-sama, who was still slurring his words.

I understood his disbelief, but I wanted him to believe me.

“I’m not doubting you Lydith, what do you want to do after we get rid of the barrier ?”

“I would like to have many children, Gilbert-sama.”

He looked straight at me and looked down with his hand over his mouth, stunned after hearing my straight forward answer. He seemed to be embarrassed.

“You know, Lydith. We’re talking seriously right now.”

“I am serious. As the King’s Companion, it is one of my roles. It is especially important for the demons. I will do my best.”

“I like it, young King.”

Astaroth was staring at me with his lips pouting dissatisfied.

“I understand how you feel, but there is an order to things, so let’s talk about me and Gilberto-sama first.”

Gilbert-sama seemed to be jealous, so I won’t be too nice to Astaroth.

It wouldn’t be sincere of me to make him feel lonely. I had to be careful.

“You know… I appreciate your determination, but now we need to talk about what to do about the barrier.”

“Yes, people will come together under the guidance of great power and talented people. Gilbert and I will be able to build a powerful superpower. It will be a good example for the nations of men who are still skirmishing with each other.”

My goal is to build a great nation, overwhelm the nations, and become a continental champion. That has not changed, so I will talk about it properly. Master Gilbert looked very taken aback.

“That part of you, Lydith, I think is very good.”

“That’s good, Lydith. If you insist on fighting, I will turn the continent into a sea of blood again.”

The two old-timers were very happy, but I was not sure why these people were so happy.

Master Gilbert sighed deeply and tugged lightly on my cheek.

“I really feel like an idiot when I talk to you about it. But thanks to you, I think I know what we need to do. First, I’ll start by introducing you to the demon tribe kings who are scattered throughout the Country.”

”It’s the wedding banquet, right? After that, you will make sure that I am properly yours.”

“…Oh, yes.”

Master Gilbert nodded and said in a low voice.

“And when that is done, it will be my turn the next day.”

“After that it’s my turn, Lydith. I’ll be ready and waiting for you.”

“It’s not your turn!”

I shouted at Astaroth and Ria, who were asserting themselves as if it were a matter of fact, and Gilbert-sama took my hand and made me stand up.

Then, “Astaroth, how long will it take you to get ready?” Gilbert-sama asked in a calm tone of voice.

“I guess in a few days, It would be better to  tell Mercuris to make Lydith’s wedding dress, and it would also look better if the young king dressed in something decent once in a while.” He replied

“I understand. Ria, will you persuade Astaroth’s unruly people?”

“Convince them, that’s all you need to do. Gilbert is the king we are supposed to serve.”

” I’ll leave it to you.”

Astaroth fluttered and waved his hand, and Ria nodded deeply.

I left the dining room with Gilbert-sama.

I didn’t seem to be able to say goodbye properly, so I just bowed, and the two of them didn’t seem to care about the rudeness of leaving their seats in the middle of the meal, and they sent me off with a smile.
