Margarita led me through the castle and brought me before some people in the Emperor’s inner circle.
“It’s a pleasure to meet you. My name is Rachel. Let us be acquainted with each other from this day forth,” I said. In normal circumstances, I would recognize the fact that it was improper for me to introduce myself to the King’s inner circle directly, but I purposefully introduced myself for a good reason.
It was a tactic to confuse Lord Naaotto’s grasp of the situation.
Nothing could be more suspicious than coming by for seemingly no reason, and then turning around and leaving quickly.
The inner-circle saw me as a recluse who had given up on her past life.
As I neared the people in the inner circle, I discreetly cast healing magic on three people in the room.
Then, it appeared as though their vacant stares turned into a look that had just regained some sort of strength.
“Please keep doing your best in service of the Emperor,” I said, smiling, and the three people I had just healed widened their eyes.
They all looked at each other intently and nodded solemnly.
“Thank you very much,” they each said.
The inner-circle members were clever enough to not mention what they were thanking me for or making any sudden gestures.
They surely knew how dangerous it would be if Lord Naaotto somehow realized what had just happened.[Read this novel and other amazing translated novels from the original source at the “Novel Multiverse dot com” website @ novelmultiverse.com]
Yet, their eyes had changed back to being full of drive, and so, they must have known that they could try to escape from Lord Naaotto then and there.
Just as I had suspected, it seemed I had the power to cure the effects of Lord Naaotto’s blood.
When I looked over at Margarita, I saw in her eyes that she was thinking the same thing.
Margarita and I quickly continued on, and she gave me the rest of a tour around the castle. It would have been too suspicious if she had only shown me certain parts of the castle without finishing the tour.
As we made our rounds, I met many new people and greeted them as if nothing was out of the ordinary.
During these encounters, with the help of Margarita, I attempted to sort out who seemed trustworthy and who I thought was under the control of Lord Naaotto.
I did keep in mind, though, that there may be people who were pretending as though they were under the control of Lord Naaotto, but were really allies in disguise.
“There’s one more person to meet – the crown prince Yaakummo,” I said to Margarita.
“Yes. He’s the only one that I can tell you for sure is under the control of Lord Naaotto,” she said.
“I wonder if there’s any way I can meet him, now,” I said.
“I’m not sure about now… I will ask Margerita to discuss the matter with the King,” she said.
“Please do,” I said.
After returning to my assigned room and resting for a moment, I started talking to Margarita, again. The issue at hand was how to somehow get to the crown prince Yaakummo. For now, there seemed to be no clear opportunities. It would be strange for me to introduce myself to him as Lord Naaotto’s fiance, alone.
It came down to two options – to introduce myself to him accompanied by the King, or accompanied by Lord Naaotto. It wasn’t a very smart idea to try to heal the crown prince Yaakummo in front of Lord Naaotto. It may come to that in a worst-case scenario, but for now, I wanted to avoid it, if possible.
That meant I had to seek the King’s help.[Read this novel and other amazing translated novels from the original source at the “Novel Multiverse dot com” website @ novelmultiverse.com]
