Chapter 64 Sharing a Bed Together (2)

Since that incident, Wen Yantong remained very quiet the rest of the night and made no movement at all.

She slept for a long time, her body comfortable and soft, almost melding into the cozy quilt. She slept so soundly that when she woke up, Wen Yangtong was in a state of confusion.

After staring blankly at nothing for a while, she slowly regained consciousness. She thought of Chi Jingxi's care after she fell ill yesterday, so she couldn't help but look sideways. Maybe due to exhaustion, Chi Jingxi was still sleeping, and his handsome face was peaceful.

His long dark eyelashes are very obvious in contrast to his fair skin. Wen Yantong carefully studied his face and concluded that Chi Jingxi really had a captivating face.

After a night's rest, her high fever subsided, but it was inevitable that some parts of her body would be slightly painful due to lying prone for too long. Wen Yantong wanted to lie down in bed for a while longer, but she didn't want Chi Jingxi’s mood to plummet because of her presence early in the morning. So she decided to lightly step over him and get out of bed.

However, Wen Yantong underestimated Chi Jingxi's stature. Wen Yantong accidentally stepped on his leg, immediately fell off the bed, and landed on her butt.

"Aiyoo!! Ai!"

Wen Yantong rubbed her buttocks and was about to stand up when she saw Chi Jingxi had gotten up. Sitting up with a frown, his eyes still full of drowsiness, looking quite languid.

Wen Yantong got up, put on a thick padded coat, and smiled at him. "Little Marquis is awake? How was your sleep?"

The morning Chi Jingxi looked innocent and harmless, not at all fierce as he usually was. He frowned slightly and whispered, "Headache."

Wen Yantong was stunned when she heard his voice. Why did it sound like her voice from yesterday morning? With a stuffy nose and hoarse voice, along with a headache, he couldn’t be…

"Little Marquis," Wen Yantong approached, reaching out to feel his forehead. "You’re not sick, are you?"

If it was the usual Chi Jingxi, he would never let her approach. But maybe it was because he just woke up now or because he was ill and slow to react, so Wen Yantong actually touched his forehead.

"It's a little warm. Probably a cold." Wen Yantong said, "Who told you not to sleep well last night and even launched a sneak attack on me. Now, you’ve been infected..."

Chi Jingxi glanced at her and subconsciously wanted to explain. "That's because you were talking in your sleep."

"You could have just woken me up. Why did you pinch me?" Wen Yantong sighed, pressing his shoulder. "Lie down first. Cover yourself with a quilt, and I’ll go get someone to brew medicine for you."

Chi Jingxi brushed her hand away. "No need."

"You can’t refuse!" Wen Yantong said firmly, "If you don't take it, you will be the same as me from yesterday! You’ll burn up until you won’t know which direction is which!"

She made a quilt for Chi Jingxi, then went out and ordered Mo Li to brew two cold medicines, and served two light porridges.

After coming back in, she saw Chi Jingxi had closed his eyes. Though she was unsure if he was sleeping or just resting his eyes because of his headache. Wen Yantong took the clothes on the screen, put them on, and asked someone to refill the charcoal in the stove warmer.

Just then, the hot water was brought in. Mo Li filled the teapot and poured some into the basin for Wen Yantong to wash her face in.

Wen Yantong first poured some warm water for Chi Jingxi to drink.

When Chi Jingxi was ill, he had no temper, and his whole body showed laziness, which should be the best time for Wen Yantong. He took two sips of hot water and asked, "What time is it?"

"Yin-shi (3-5 am)." Wen Yantong said, "The snow has stopped outside."

Chi Jingxi asked again, "Has the road been cleared?"

"It should be." Wen Yantong replied, "Is Little Marquis going home?"

Chi Jingxi lowered his eyes, finished the water in the cup, and sighed tiredly, "Mm, going home."

Wen Yantong retrieved the cup and said, "Finish the medicine and then go back. Otherwise, your cold will get worse."

Chi Jingxi didn't refuse, so Wen Yantong put the cup down and went to wash. After washing her face, she closed her eyes and groped for a towel when someone brought a towel over to her. She wiped her face, and when she opened her eyes, she found that it was Chi Jingxi, who was already dressed.

"Why are you up?" Wen Yantong asked in surprise.

Chi Jingxi's dark eyes sank, and he asked, "Who is Chi Danli?"

Wen Yantong was so terrified and so shocked that she almost revealed her emotions through the trembling of her hands. She hurriedly took the towel and rubbed her face to cover her gaffe.

Chi Jingxi was also quite patient. He stood by her side and waited for a while, watching her dawdling and wiping her face.

Wen Yantong laughed and said, "I don't know. I haven't heard of that name. Why did you ask me this all of a sudden, Little Marquis? Is this person your cousin?"

"You were talking in your sleep last night and called this name several times," Chi Jingxi replied.

"You must have misheard?" Wen Yantong said, "I don't even know who that person is."

She threw the cotton cloth into the water basin. Afraid that Chi Jingxi would continue to interrogate her, she hurriedly called Mo Li in with a loud voice, "Bring in some hot water. The Little Marquis wants to wash up."

Seeing that she wasn’t going to confess, Chi Jingxi didn't bother to continue asking. He gave himself a brief wipe after the water was brought in. And right after, the medicine and the porridge were delivered together.

Two bowls of traditional medicine were placed on the table, and the smell was pungent, making Wen Yantong's eyes uncomfortable. She took one of the bowls and sighed. Since she came to this place, she never stopped drinking medicine.

When the orintal medicine was cooled enough, Wen Yantong drank it with her eyes and nose scrunched up. As soon as she placed the empty bowl down, she saw Chi Jingxi finish the medicine like drinking water.

After eating two mouthfuls of porridge, maybe because she really had no appetite, Wen Yangtong simply pushed the food aside.

After a while, Mu Yang came over. He stood outside the door and made his presence known by shouting.

Chi Jingxi put on the cloak and left the bedroom.
