115 Agreement

After a long time, Kyle opened his eyes.

He looked at his bed, which was still filled with crystals. However, the number of crystals had decreased a lot as compared to when he first started his meditation. The energy was absorbed into his body and Kyle felt that it would be possible for him to make another minor advancement for his lightning ability.

The fire ability was also close to another advancement.

This speed was much faster as compared to when he first started. However, if he had to make this bed again in the future, how much would it cost? There were so many crystals of various ranks under him.

Kyle looked at Kate, who was sleeping soundly and smiled lightly.

This little cat might as well be his little lucky charm.

After a while, Kyle simply continued to absorb the energy in his meditation. At this moment, he seemed to have forgotten that humans also needed sleep.

...

In the morning, Kate was bewildered when she saw that Kyle was still being so absorbed in his training. He told her that they would just have a walk tomorrow instead of today because he wanted to absorb these crystals first.

.....

Kate didn’t mind.

Anyway, there were still more of these red and purple crystals inside her space because Kyle’s bed simply couldn’t fit all of them when she first placed it. Thus, Kate simply lazily slept most of the time.

Her small body still needed a lot of sleep to grow.

The day passed peacefully.

And the next day, Kate saw that the crystals on Kyle’s bed was almost exhausted. She was stunned. The speed of which Kyle absorbed these crystals seemed to have been doubled or even tripled his previous speed.

Was the crystal had that much effect?

And Kate herself knew that her healing ability had reached rank 4 after consuming that gem. However, she never tried to use this healing ability of hers yet. The first reason was naturally because there was no target around. And the second reason was Kate felt lazy.

“We’re going out today. After that, we’ll pay a short visit to the Research Institute.” Kyle thought for a moment and sent a message Dylan, telling him that they were going to Research Institute. If they could make a deal, they would be able to obtain the blue gem to Dylan.

Of course, the perquisite was that the people in the Research Institute would agree with their terms first. Kyle would not want his information to be spread even if he agreed to let them see the changes in his body when he absorbed that gem.

“Meow?”

Kate was curious just where Kyle was planning to take her. Surely, he wouldn’t bring her to a strange place, would he?

Kyle lightly picked Kate up and carried her on his arm. It seemed to be his most favorite location to pick her lately. Anyway, Kate’s body was still so small that it didn’t matter even if she stayed on his hand.

She wouldn’t fall with him guarding her tightly.

Entering the car, Kyle then drove Kate towards the nearby park. Seeing the still lively park, Kate was stunned. After seeing so many dreadful things along with those giant mutated animals out there, she had completely forgotten about this peaceful scene.

The laugh, the comfort, the peace, it seemed to have disappeared from her world slowly. But when Kyle brought her here, Kate happily jumped down and began to chase around the small butterflies around.

With so many giant mutated animals, Kate forgot that some of them didn’t mutate.

They were still the same as they used to be.

She happily chased the butterfly, watching as it fly in front of her, landing on her nose and Kate chased them.

“Meow, meow, meow, meow!”

Seeing Kate happily played around, Kyle nodded in satisfaction. He had seen the little cat seemed to be quite dejected lately and thought that it would be good if he could bring her along outside. That way, the little cat can also some time having fun.

Even if this peace is temporary, isn’t it good to enjoy it when they could?

Kyle felt somewhat calm and relaxed, a state that he himself had probably forgotten in such a long time. Being able to have happiness even in the small matter, isn’t that something that one should be grateful of?

Being able to enjoy life without thinking of the various burden from time to time was the enjoyment of life that Kyle had long forgotten.

Perhaps, he just didn’t let himself experience it anymore.

“Meow?”

Kate noticed that Kyle was still standing in his place. She rushed towards him and pulled his trouser with her small claw, asking him to play with her.

“You want me to come too?” Kyle looked at the little cat helplessly and in the end, he agreed. Running with the little cat beside him in this somewhat empty park, he felt peaceful and happy.

At the back, there were several soldiers whom General Ryan sent to watch over his son. After all, even in this city, there were a lot of people who might not be happy with General Ryan being one of the few people with the highest power. Their target would not be him because he was always within the military compound but his son who often walked out.

One of the soldiers took a video call and showed this scene to General Ryan.

They had been following General Ryan for a long time and knew that Kyle was a very problematic child. If not because of General Ryan’s persuasion, the nation might not even allow Kyle to have a life out here and would lock him away somewhere.

And now, seeing the same cold Kyle was running with a little cat and watched the little cat playing with the butterfly so happily... it was like watching a miracle.

“I can’t believe that Little Kyle would actually able to laugh so freely again after that incident.” General Ryou was astonished. His nephew was very cold and always detach himself from the world.

It made others felt difficult to truly reach him. Even if Kyle showed a smile in front of them, it was nothing more than a polite smile that he made to make sure that they would not worry in the slightest bit.

“Yes, me too.” General Ryan sighed.

“It seems that the decision of sending that little cat to Little Kyle is the best choice you have made.” General Ryou laughed.

However, General Ryan was not in full agreement with General Ryou.

If he hadn’t seen the video of that day during the first red rain, he would have the same opinion. But he could guess that Kyle only began to open up to this little cat because he felt that she was humanlike, but she was not human who would scheme against him.

This was why he allowed the cat to get close to him.

But what he worried the most was if the little cat truly ‘absorbed’ the human into her body and caused a person to disappear, would this price be acceptable to the girl’s parents? Knowing Kate’s father’s ability, it would be troublesome if he were to target Kyle like this.

General Ryan couldn’t help but feel worry.

At the same time, he definitely couldn’t push Kate’s Father down because he had known what had happened at that time.

Telling him that his daughter disappeared because of his son’s little cat.

He couldn’t bear to say it.

“Ryan?”

“I hope this happiness will last forever.” General Ryan looked away from the video call. “For now, let’s contact them to make sure that they would not make any stupid move in this city.”

“Got it.” General Ryou didn’t understand why his brother looked conflicted, but he didn’t think too much. Perhaps, his brother was conflicted because his own son was not close to him but rather to a cat?

That was possible.

Anyway, the two of them didn’t think too much about it.

...

After playing around for around an hour, Kate was already tired. She was happy to be able to run around here without the need to think about those giant mutated animals out there. Being able to enjoy herself without any restriction had made Kate felt satisfied.

“Are you happy? Now, let’s go to the Research Institute.” Kyle picked Kate up effortlessly.

“Meow.”

Even though Kate didn’t really like the place, she didn’t mind heading there if it was with Kyle. Soon they reached the Research Institute and Dr. Dall was already waiting for them with resentful expression.

“How’s the agreement going on?” Kyle had asked Dr. Dall to make the researchers agree first.

“They agreed to give you the crystals, but they wanted to monitor your vitals during the process. Don’t worry, all of them had signed non-disclosure agreement.” Dr. Dall took a deep breath.
