121 Stupid

“Kyle, it is your turn.” Jake turned his head to the back and saw that Kyle had woken up.

“I know. Stop the car so we can switch. Lotte, make sure no giant mutated animals are around.”

“Got it.” Lotte smiled and spread her wind element to check the area. It was indeed the easiest job for her because the wind element was indeed the most suitable to be a scout more than other elements.

Jake then stopped the car and stretched his hand. He felt a bit numb after having to drive for hours without stopping. “Finally, I can rest.”

“Are they attacking humans?” Jake asked as he switched seat with Lotte. Anyway, it wouldn’t be good for Lotte to sleep here right beside Kyle. It would be saver for her to stay at the back.

“No.” Lotte shook her head. “These giant mutated animals are fighting amongst themselves.”

Kate turned to look at Kyle with her large innocent eyes.

Kyle shook his head. He never actually expected this heartless little cat of his would want to accompany him anyway. She loved to sleep so much and knowing that children liked to sleep, he allowed her to be.

“Just sleep if you’re tired, I can deal with the giant mutated animals on the way.”

“Meow.”

Very soon, Kate fell asleep again.

The next time Kate woke up again, it was at breakfast time. At this time, the group was talking about the small stop in front of them.

Kate frowned. She finished her milk and then jumped to Kyle’s shoulder. Even though her body was small, she was capable to jump the height that was taller than her own height. After that, Kate hid on Kyle’s back neck.

“Little Kitty, you’re tickling me.” Kyle helplessly tugged Kate’s tail.

Lotte’s lips twitched. “Your cat is really heartless! Why do you want to hide from such a beautiful woman like me?!”

The others laughed at Lotte’s words.

They all knew that she was only joking. After all, Kate was not close to her and would usually stick to Kyle, so there was no way that she would suddenly jump to Lotte without any prior warning. With time, they would be closer, but for now, no one would be able to defeat Kyle.

“Bypass?” Dylan asked, pointing at the gas station that was only a few meters away from them.
