Chapter 18: Good for you
The weather was beautiful the next day, and there were no clouds in the sky. The sun gradually rose from the east and changed from orange-red to golden.
In the winter, a warm quilt was extremely comfortable. The heat under the quilt was quite comfortable. She moved her legs, and her white fingers couldn’t help reaching out for something when it was clenched by another slender hand.
The quilt seemed to tremble until after a long while, it finally stopped.
A wet hand reached out from under the quilt, and grabbed the phone on the nightstand, unlocking the screen.
He Hexian kissed Ye Xun’s face and moved to stand up and dress: “I’m going to cook, you clean up the room.”
Ye Xun pulled her back to the bed, into her arms, and said softly, “Sleep a little longer…”
She was enveloped into a tight hug, unable to move, so she just brushed her hair a bit, and lay there with Ye Xun. Her eyes were closed, and she breathed quietly, her lips slightly open. Perhaps she felt uncomfortable since her hands were being crushed for son long, so she lifted her hands from under He Yu’s waist. She did a half-turn and buried her face into He Yu’s neck.
He Yu found this scene to be too cute, so she didn’t push her away.

On Sunday, the two went to Beijing.
He Yu told her family she was traveling by herself. Mother He said a few words without asking much, telling her to stay safe.
In Beijing, Mr. and Mrs. Ye picked them up.
She sat in the back with Ye Xun, and although Mother Ye talked to her in a kind and warm manner, He Yu was still a little nervous. Ye Xun comforted her and secretly grabbed her hand, rubbing her knuckles softly.
When the car stopped, Father Ye accidentally saw this scene, thought about something, and then glanced at Mother Ye, who smiled back.
Before they entered, Father Ye said to He Yu, “Just think of us as your own family, no need for any formalities.”
He Yu nodded in response.
The old couple were very approachable and didn’t put on airs. The other family members were told in advance that He Yu was coming and greeted her warmly.
This visit was nice and easy and was like what Jiang Yun predicted, just to chat and eat. They didn’t ask her anything about her family and respected her privacy.
Mother Ye was a well-read person. When she was young, she had studied in England and was open-minded to new ideas. The Ye family also didn’t interfere with Ye Xun’s decisions-they believed in an education that was different from the traditions.
Mother Ye took them shopping and to greet some old friends. She likes reading and flower arrangement, which, coincidentally, so did He Yu.
“Young people nowadays only go online, never finding the time to explore other things,” Mother Ye said, glancing at Ye Xun, who was scrolling through her phone and then looked at He Yu carefully pruning the branches and felt satisfied. “I learned flower arrangement from Ah-Xun’s grandmother, but only a little bit so that I could pass the time.”
He Yu praised her arrangement, and Mother Ye laughed.
They spent New Year’s in Beijing, and on the second day of the new year, Mother Ye dragged her to make dumplings. She didn’t know how to roll the skin, so Ye Xun went, and she wrapped it.
On the third day, He Yu flew back to Chongqing.
Ye Xun said she’ll stay in Beijing for a while, wouldn’t return with her, but drove her to the airport. Before getting out of the car, Ye Xun kissed her. There were many people outside the vehicle, and although He Yu was a little embarrassed, she put that hough into the back of her mind. Ye Xun held the back of her head and rolled her tongue in He Yu’s mouth.
The weather was cold, and He Yu gasped for breath, the exhaled breath was white. Ye Xun put her hat on and then walked her in.
Ye Xun helped her with the luggage, waited for the plane, and walked with her to the check-in. She didn’t leave until she saw He Yu’s plane takeoff.
When Jiang Yun heard He Yu’s description, she said with emotion, “Good for you, I’m so envious…
