Chapter 1 - Wife of ghosts
I was dreaming.
"So ugly."
In my dream, I heard a cold male voice, somewhat unwilling.
"Forget it." Forget it. That voice added three words this time. Just as I was about to refute it, with the touch of a pair of ice-cold hands, my body instantly stiffened.
His fingers were white as jade, and the hand came again, down my face
"Who are you! Let me go! Help! "
I struggled with all my might, but my head was being held down by a powerful force. The pain made me want to cry.
"Since you have acknowledged this king, you are this king's wife! You can forget about escaping in your life! " A cold and arrogant voice sounded by my ear. After which, I felt my body soften as I completely lost all my strength …
No matter how scared and unwilling I was, my body couldn't move. I was forced to accept what had happened.
My voice was swallowed up by his enticement, a little bit of entanglement.
Amid the haze, the cold voice spoke once again, "Don't be afraid!"
Long pain, only let me feel, life is better than death
That pain was like being cut by a knife, inch by inch, through my flesh and blood …
When I woke up, my whole body felt like it had been scattered. I touched the bed sheets and was already soaked in cold sweat.
I stared blankly at the ceiling for a long time before slowly regaining my senses.
It was all so real that I wondered if it was a dream or if it had really happened.
In the following month or so, I never had such a dream again, and my life didn't change. This caused my tensed heart to slowly relax.
But I don't know why, but I always think about that dream, the weird night, and that man, right next to my ear, breathing louder.
I became his wife. I thought about what the man had said, but I couldn't figure out why he had said that, and I had no idea when we had done it.
The following days were as peaceful as ever. I no longer had any strange dreams and gradually let go of my worries. However, after a month, something was wrong with my body.
At first, it was a frequent feeling of disgust, having no appetite, wanting to vomit but only retching, not being able to spit anything out.
After retching dry towards the rice, my good friend jokingly said to me, "Yan Nuo, looking at your reaction, it can't be that you're pregnant, right?"
My body froze, and I didn't even care about the feeling of nausea.
Pregnant?
I forcefully suppressed my desire to retch and forced a smile at her. "I'm fine. It's possible that the food I've eaten recently wasn't right. My stomach is sick, so it's no big deal."
After that, my reaction became so intense that I almost vomited from drinking water.
I woke up in the middle of the night, overcome by the urge to vomit. I was afraid my roommate would hear me and bury me under the covers.
Something seemed to be churning in my stomach, but I retched a few times and didn't spit it out.
I rushed out of the dormitory and ran to the public lavatory.
The corridors of the student dormitories are all long corridors. I ran for a distance, but I didn't see any public toilets. Did I run past them?
I stopped, just as a flash of lightning lit up the corridor.
With just a glance, I was scared out of my wits and almost cried out in pain.
Blood all over the ground
The pure white walls were also covered in blood, and behind me was a series of bloody footprints …
What frightened me most was that blood was slowly flowing out from under the tightly shut doors of those dormitories. It seemed like it would never stop …
