Chapter 32 - Ways to Use the Book
It seemed like a long time had passed, but I still clearly remembered that black book. No matter how I flipped through it, there was not a single word on it!
"I do. Of course I do. If you didn't mention it, I would have thought you were just messing with me."
However, Zi Sang Ming ignored my blabbering and continued walking until he reached the end. This place is completely sealed, there are no light sources around, but it is not dark, at most it is dark, although there is no light source, but I do not think it is strange, after all, the moment I found Chen Ziyue, I was no longer that resolute atheist.
Through the gloom, I could see three huge statues standing in front of me. Half of the smaller statues on either side were hidden in the darkness, and only the largest one in the middle could see them clearly.
It wore a hat full of horns on its head, and its facial features were hideous. Every single fold on its face was etched into the stone, and even its sharp fangs seemed as if they were real. He stood in a strange position, one leg raised as if in a ritual.
Only then did I realize that he was still holding in his hand a huge black book, which, if you looked closely, was clearly the same as the one I had left in the dormitory.
Zi Sang Ming saw that I seemed to have seen through the mystery behind it and smiled: "It seems that you're not that stupid."
With that, he no longer spoke and walked to the center of the hall. Facing the huge statue, he prepared to sit cross-legged. It wasn't until he was sitting on the floor that I noticed that a cushion had appeared beneath his buttocks. The cushion was floating about ten centimeters above the ground, but it seemed to have been frozen in place.
Zi Sang's white robe also floated in the air as if it was alive, as if it was afraid of being stained by the ground.
I just watched as Zishan sat facing the statue. He didn't even turn his head or open his eyes as he gestured for me to come over.
I walked over obediently. As I walked, I couldn't help but raise my head and look at the huge statue before me with a pious expression. To my surprise, although I could feel myself moving forward, I couldn't control my body at all, and my consciousness seemed to be standing behind me, watching me move forward bit by bit.
In my mind, I could already see my own back.
It was as if I was being manipulated. I stopped not far from San Ming's position and planned to sit down on the ground. Similarly, a cushion appeared under me as I followed Zishan Ming like a pious monk chanting sutras to Buddha. My consciousness was still silently watching everything from behind me.
I shut my eyes against my own control, my mind filled with the image of the statue in front of me.
Finally, when my mind cleared up a bit, I opened my eyes and found that I was no longer in the main hall but in a courtyard filled with withered trees.
This seemed to be the courtyard of a wealthy family from ancient times. All the trees in this courtyard had actually withered away, leaving only the dried up branches, which maliciously extended outwards.
Just as I was about to stand up, the wooden door of the house suddenly opened on its own, letting out an old-fashioned creak. I tried to look inside the door, but it was dark and I couldn't see anything. However, there was still a sound coming from inside.
It was a cold, emotionless voice that sounded like it came from a computer system. That voice was very rough, like an old man at the end of his days, weak and listless.
"Sit there and don't move."
For some reason, I had no objection to this statement. He told me not to move, so I really just sat there, not moving at all.
It wasn't until later, when I thought back, that I realized I must have been under control at that time. Otherwise, given my personality, how could I have been so obedient?
Later, of course.
Even though my body was so obedient that it didn't move, my eyes were still curiously staring at the door, waiting for something to walk out. To be honest, I'm not scared at all at the moment, because I know that if Zishan Ming can bring me here, then he definitely won't harm me.
Furthermore, I still have his own child in my womb!
Sure enough, after a short while, an old man slowly walked out of the darkness.
It wasn't until I saw his appearance clearly that I finally opened my mouth wide in shock.
This … this was clearly the old man on the statue. He was actually alive!
As if reading my thoughts, the old man grinned and twisted his beard with his fangs.
"Old man, where's your book?"
Then I began to regret that I had said "old man" to an old man, and he would be angry.
However, this old man was completely out of my expectations. Not only was he not angry, he even raised his head up and laughed loudly. "Hahaha, Zi Sang Ming's wife is indeed different!"
I was a little embarrassed and could only change the topic intentionally. "That's right, where is the book in your hand?"
This time, I muttered to myself for a long time before I managed to change my words.
"You can even tell this, you really aren't an ordinary little girl …"
I couldn't help but grumble to myself, "As long as I'm not blind, how can I see that I'm not ordinary?"
I looked at the old man's smiling face. I didn't know why, but at this moment, I no longer felt that he was that sinister. The fangs in my mouth had become nothing out of the ordinary to me.
But before I could think it through, the old man lifted a hand, formed a sword finger with his forefinger and middle finger, and turned it in front of his chest, toward me.
My consciousness blurred, my eyelids grew heavy, and I closed my eyes.
Although I closed my eyes, it wasn't darkness in front of me. On the contrary, a book actually appeared in the boundless space in front of me.
The black book floated in front of my eyes and started flipping pages of its own accord.
I couldn't help but think that there weren't any words in this book. Even if I opened it, I wouldn't be able to gather any information!
But clearly, this time was completely different.
The black book flipped open to the first page. The black page was originally devoid of anything, but just as I was doubting it, a golden light suddenly shone from the book. This golden light was like a pen, as it began to write and draw on the black page.
The golden words with the black background were exceptionally dazzling. I seriously looked at the golden words that were imprinted onto the page bit by bit. However, I had no idea what those words were.
Once again, a sense of powerlessness hit me. Even if there were words, I didn't recognize them. What difference did it make?
He suddenly thought of the old man's voice and laughed. "Hahaha, I've already given you the book. Just how should I use it? Go ask your husband!"
As I said this, the old man's voice became further and further away from me. When I opened my eyes, the old man was already nowhere to be seen.
Holding the book in my hand, I struggled to my feet. At that moment, the ground under my feet started to spin on its own. Like quicksand, it sucked me in bit by bit.
I quickly closed my eyes and pinched my nose. I was still holding the black book tightly, thinking, This book is for saving lives, even if I die, I will still hold on to this book tightly. I can't let go!
My whole body tensed up as I waited for death, but after a long time, I opened my eyes as if I was in a dream.
This time, I returned to the hall where Zi Sang Ming was and sat on the cushion floating in the air. I suddenly realized something and quickly opened my hands to look. There was no book! Where's my book!
"I … I was holding the book just now …"
When Zishan Ming heard what I said, he finally stood up from the mat and the cushion under his feet slowly sank into the ground. In the end, it completely sank into the ground and disappeared.
Zi Sang Ming used both hands to help me stand up and the corner of his mouth curled up. I understood that it was his smile.
"Hmm, looks like he still gave it to you."
Him? Zi Sang Ming was talking about the statue in front of him?
I looked up at the huge statue above me, and to my surprise, it wasn't the same statue I'd seen in the first place. His head hadn't changed, but the book he'd been holding in his hand was gone.
My hand, which had held the book, was outstretched, my arm slightly bent, as if greeting me.
I turned around mysteriously and said to Zishan Ming with a sly smile, "That old man is quite a good person!"
Only
The thought that I still hadn't figured out the usage of the black book made my mood plummet again.
Seeing me lower my head, Zi Sang Ming also guessed what happened. He placed a hand on my shoulder and comforted me, "No one can understand the secret of the Yin Book that easily. Since you have already obtained his acknowledgement, then it means that you have the ability to do so."
Yin Shu? It turned out that the black leather book was called the Dark Book.
"There is a huge power hidden in the book, and it knows everything. There are many things that you can find the answer to. Of course, the premise is that fate has arrived."
Zi Sang Ming's words confused me. I said that I could find the answer on one side, but I also had to look at fate on the other. If fate didn't work, then even if the answer appeared in front of me, I wouldn't be able to understand it, right?
When I thought of this, I suddenly seemed to understand something. I remembered the golden words engraved on the black page. It turns out that the reason why I couldn't understand them is because fate has yet to arrive.
I can only beg the heavens right now. Hopefully, I can find the power to suppress Zhao Xue in the books, and the best way is to use the simplest Chinese character so that I can understand it in a moment!
Thinking of this, I actually couldn't wait to see it.
"Don't worry, the book is in your residence."
At this moment, I suddenly heard a sound by my ear …
